  1. Pohlads “right sizing” the payroll is the only reason that this is a topic. Normally owners stay the same or at least keep pace percentage wise from year to year. This team should have a $160-$180 million payroll. Just my 2 cents. Of course it’s not my money to spend.
  2. Love to see some more of our young guys perform well enough to earn this in 2025. Our season depends on it.
  3. We used eight starting pitchers last year and we all saw the results of that down the stretch. Without Paddack (assuming he gets traded) we are already planning to use Matthews, Raya, and Adams this summer. I would still argue that we need another starting pitcher. Sasaki - hope that Zoll and Falvey have that presentation ready to go!
  4. Love to see them emphasize winning now. Of course that’s what I want as a fan, but I also think it would increase the value to any potential buyer. Unfortunately, the Pohlads are right-sizing the business, and looking to extract money from their franchise in the short term.
  5. R5 RHP - Eiberson Castellano 40 man is at 38, room for a couple free agents 😁
  6. Time to see if the kids can play. Poverty Twins have no $$ to do much of anything else. Who will show up? 2023 or 2024 Julien, 1st half or 2nd half Miranda, New Balance or Nike Correa, pre or post “slump thing” Lewis, April/May Jeffers, SWR/Festa/Matthews take a step forward?
  7. I like the lineup but shed a tear thinking about no more Pablo days 😢
  8. Unless Falvey has some tricks up his sleeve Keirsey should get his chance. Like his speed and defense. Can’t be worse than Magoo, can he?
  9. I guess I wasn’t really looking at what Castro would or wouldn’t do. More looking at what I think the Twins could/would do. Edman is a nice player but we don’t print money like the Dodgers.
  10. Dumb. They could use this for the All-Star game but not regular season or playoffs. Might get some people to watch that game a little more closely
  11. Keep him and sign him to a “Dodgers” like deferred contract to save $$ in 2025. 2-3 yrs w/aav of $8million 3yrs, $24 million @ 4, 8, 12 surely they could get creative with this one.
  12. Hays had a poor 2nd half with the Phillies but was dealing with a Kidney infection. Prior to that he was hitting 8% above average as a regular with the Os. He put up over 2 WAR in 21, 22, and 23. Non-tendered by the Phils, he was projected at $6.1 mil for 25. Could be a good target and bargain for the budget conscious Twins.
  13. I saw him once at AAA. Similar skillset to Julien. Please have him work on breaking ball recognition. This question at the end of the article sums up my thoughts. -Do you think Rodriguez’s approach can work or does he need to make adjustments to avoid becoming the next Edouard Julien?
  14. Poche is worth a look. Don’t trust Fundy at this point. If not, Topa over Fundy to start. The lefties can battle their way to the majors - Fundy, Moran, Headrick. Varland is Stewart insurance.
  15. This is always a fun exercise and I know I’m gonna go over budget by at least a little. I’ll explain my rationale a little bit later. Here are my moves: Paddack salary dump. I’m texting the 29 another GM’s and whoever takes the $7.5 million and gives me the best prospects gets Paddack. Trade Vazquez for Diaz. This is a salary swap, and I’d give some prospects to make it more palatable for the Rays. Kala’i Rosario, Tanner Schobel, and Andrew Morris may get it done. Sign Matthew Boyd. Two years $24 million with $10 million in the first year and the second being a $14 million option. Hope is not a plan and we saw the results of that plan in 2024. Love what I saw from the rookies, but we still need pitching depth. Sign Amed Rosario to be the new Farm Dawg for $2 million. Sign James McCann as back up catcher for $1.5 million. This plan gives us better depth for the upcoming season, breathes a little life into the fan base, and makes the team more attractive for that potential buyer out there. LFG Twins! C: Ryan Jeffers ($4.70M) 1B: Diaz ($10.00M) 2B: Brooks Lee ($0.80M) 3B: Royce Lewis ($2.30M) SS: Carlos Correa ($36.00M) LF: Trevor Larnach ($2.10M) CF: Byron Buxton ($15.00M) RF: Matt Wallner ($0.80M) DH: Miranda ($0.80M) 4th OF: DaShawn Keirsey ($0.80M) Utility: Willi Castro ($6.20M) Utility: A Rosario ($2.00M) Backup C: McCann ($1.50M) NA: Dead Money Here ($0.00M) SP1: Pablo Lopez ($21.50M) SP2: Joe Ryan ($3.80M) SP3: Bailey Ober ($4.30M) SP4: Boyd ($10M) SP5: Simeon Woods Richardson ($0.80M) RP: Jhoan Duran ($3.70M) RP: Brock Stewart ($0.87M) RP: Griffin Jax ($2.60M) RP: Jorge Alcala ($1.50M) RP: Cole Sands ($0.80M) RP: Justin Topa ($1.23M) RP: Louie Varland ($0.80M) RP: Tonkin ($1.00M) NA: Dead Money Here ($0.00M) Payroll is 4.34% over budget
  16. Zero non-tenders. 40 man is at 37
  17. Severino and Blewett signed to minor league deals.
  18. This was already mentioned a couple times but I have the same thought. Could Larnach play 1B?⚾️
  19. Love to get some pitching depth. Some good rookie talent but they haven’t gone beyond 130 innings pitched (give or take a few). Gotta trade Paddack for the best offer we receive. Ryan has either been injured or his performance has slipped late since since acquired from the Rays. FO will have to get creative this offseason.
  20. I like the idea of trading for Diaz as well. Maybe we could trade Vasquez and some prospects for him since the rays need a catcher? Jacob Stallings to back up Jeffers. Paddack for the best offer we can get. sign Boyd as a LH SP for some depth.
  21. I’d like to see them be heathy enough to get there. It’s a great dream!
