  1. I’ve always liked Rocco and he wasn’t dealt a very good hand in 2024. Joe promised a better team in 2025 so we’ll see what that means. I like the use of statistics and that the FO has elevated the Twins in that area. There are a few situations in which I’d like to see them better utilized: early inning pinchhitting - pulling your best hitters (at the time) Wallner and Larnach in the 5th for Magoo and Martin when those lineup spots come up again the in the 8th or 9th. It has become too predictable and we often see opposing managers show a lefty to get one of our guys out of the game and then go back to a righty. use all of the data available - we don’t want our lefties to face a lefty ever. But what if that lefty has reverse splits? Manaea is a good example of this. He has a .738 OPS versus left-handers and a .585 OPS versus right handers. continued reliance on LH relievers when we didn’t have a good one. In almost every instance, our right handed relievers would’ve been better than our left-handed options this season. Can/will Rocco flex his approach?
  2. OF = Larnach, Buck, Wallner, and Keirsey to start. Emma and Martin (needs more time in OF) as AAA depth They’ve needed a RH power hitter since Cruz was traded but not sure we’ll have the $$ to sign. Could trade some prospects.
  3. I’m interested in Prielipp and Canterino in the bullpen mix.
  4. Didn’t hurt just 2024, this will hurt them in future attendance as well. Aaron and John mentioned attendance as a lagging indicator and I would agree. Seems like the FO had a payroll in mind when they extended Buck, signed Correa, extended Lopez and now the Pohlads drop the amount. Good article from Gregg M a couple days ago about the ripple effects of this “business”‘decision.
  5. López, Ryan, Ober, SWR, Festa to start 2025 in the rotation. Would be great if they could sign/trade for someone and have Festa start at AAA but those “business decisions” probably won’t allow for that. Zebby at AAA Paddack in the pen or traded I like the direction our starting pitching is heading.
  6. Good article Nick. This season has raised a lot of questions about the long-term outlook for a lot of our young guys. Kirilloff, Miranda, Julien, Lewis
  7. Feel a little better about Larnach and Wallner than the rest. We will need them all to make adjustments and figure it out if the Twins are going to be successful.
  8. Pretty clear that Joe isn’t the reason that the Pohlads are billionaires. Extremely shortsighted decision that cost them in 2024, 2025, and probably beyond.
  9. Padres ownership and FO talk about winning and then act like they mean it. Sports is entertainment. You give the fans something and they give it back. That something can be wins, moves, trades etc. Joe talks about his “business” so much you can tell it is about the $$$ for him. Spend money to make money, invest in your product! Give is a reason to show up and buy merchandise. p.s. please make it so I can watch games in IA!
  10. Padres do a lot of things the Twins should follow. They’ve got an entertaining product on and off the field.
  11. Jax played the whole season and was a consistent performer. He gets my vote.
  12. How much are the jersey patches worth? 3M or Medtronic pay for Willi Castro?
  13. Twins (14) Willi Castro (5.017): $6.2MM Diego Castillo (5.001): $1MM Jorge Alcala (4.165): $1.7MM Ryan Jeffers (4.089): $4.7MM Michael Tonkin (4.074): $1.5MM Justin Topa (4.044): $1.3MM Alex Kirilloff (3.141): $1.8MM Bailey Ober (3.093): $4.3MM Brock Stewart (3.093): $800K Griffin Jax (3.091): $2.6MM Joe Ryan (3.033): $3.8MM Trevor Larnach (3.009): $2.1MM Jhoan Duran (3.000): $3.7MM Royce Lewis (2.142): $2.3MM
  14. Hire Nelson Cruz!
  15. Dobnak is a sunk cost and in the last year of his 5yr deal. His $3mil will be paid whether he is in Mpls or StP next year.
  16. Anything can happen look what happened to the twins after August 18.
  17. As bad as they played there at the end, they only missed it by four games. We had seven games, including the fourth game at Texas, where we went into the eighth inning with an 85% probability.
  18. 82-80 I’m still in disbelief over the way this ended.
