  1. They are the Bad News Bears of the MLB. Unbelievable. Couldn’t make this stuff up.
  2. From an mlb.com article that ranks concerns for 6 preseason playoff hopefuls. How worried should fans be? Also typically worried. This is who the Twins are, for better or, these days, worse.
  3. Umpires even tried to help us yesterday. Almost a full run in our favor ⚾️
  4. FO that hasn’t made a meaningful move in 2 years, Pohlads crying poor, the players hurt and/or underperforming. That’s not a good tasting recipe for us fans. Hard to see a way out but I can squint and see us sell at the deadline in order to call up some of the youth for the 2nd half. I hope we don’t trade the young controllable arms but like many have said - Castro, Bader, France and maybe a few others may not be Twins after the allstar break.
  5. I don’t get the Strib anymore so there’s a paywall. But love this headline 🤣
  6. Blewett DFA, Fundy called up. We have three more pitchers in a row who prob won’t go past 5 (Paddack, SWR, Matthews?) We’re going to burn through some arms this weekend. Yikes
  7. Offense finally does a little something and the pitching blows up. Twins cannot get it all together at the same time. By the time they do it may be too late. Alcalá is such a talented rollercoaster. 2 walks and 2 singles, pulled without recording an out.
  8. Martin has been hitting well but went on the AAA IL for a hammy. Keaschall still only playing 7 innings in the field. Emma has been good but not great. There’s no cavalry. We gotta win with what we got.
  9. But even Gasper over Miranda. Miranda hasn’t looked good, but they obviously don’t trust him at all right now.
  10. He’s still only playing seven innings right now.
  11. We miss Skubal and Flaherty this series but we’ve made most of the pitchers we’ve faced look like Cy Young candidates (see Perez, Lorenzen)
  12. This offense is leaving no margin for error for the pitchers and defense. Ugly baseball right now and hard to see a path out of it. There’s no calvary coming on the offensive side in the short term.
  13. Haven’t listened yet, but I think I need this podcast to get me through my workday. Looking forward to it.
  14. Tigers, Mets, and Braves before a day off and then the ChiSox. Will you take the over/under on 8.5 games back in the division by next Thursday?
  15. Doesn’t really matter. Offense went 1-9 with RISP. Only 9 runs in the 4 games in KC. These season stats explain the 4-9 start: .199 AVG, .596 OPS 3.38 runs per game
  16. 9 runs in 4 games is the story of the series. Stat of the day from Gleeman: In the 65-year history of the Minnesota Twins, their lineup has had a batting average below .200 after 13 games just twice. This season and last season.
  17. Posted by Matthew Leach of mlb.com Twins game notes list TBA tomorrow, Paddack Saturday, SWR Sunday. If you're doing the math at home, that would probably lead you to deduce that Festa is a pretty strong candidate to take Lopez's roster spot, since he last pitched on Sunday of last weekend and would be on turn for tomorrow night.
  18. Welcome back Zebulon! Not the way I wanted him to get back. Paddack to the pen will open the door long term.
  19. Noticed that as well, and I am trying not to read into it.
