Highlights the problem of the Swiss Army knife approach, the Twins take to their defense. You can use a Swiss Army knife for just about anything, but it’s often not the right tool for the job.
I like Josh Bell. I don’t have a problem with Josh Bell, but he should not be a contending teams number three or number four hitter. Probably 6,7,8
Twins haven’t had a true number three or four hitter since Nelson Cruz was traded, IMO.
Twins barely have five starters as it is. Keep Joe and revisit in the offseason. Otherwise you’d have to get an MLB arm in return that could pitch in Aug/Sept.
12 days until the deadline and the Twins aren’t playing like buyers right now. It’s been said numerous times by numerous TD users, but I hope they don’t mortgage the future for 2026. This is not a deep playoff run, championship roster.
Larnach + prospect outside the top 25 for Bradgley Rodriguez or Victor Vodnik
Jeffers to Rays for Ty Johnson and a pitcher in their top 25-50
Keep Ryan for now you can always trade him in the off-season or at the next trade deadline.
I’m listening on Bell.
I certainly get all the Boras talk. He has his reputation, but there are a few players that have gone against his wishes. Whether you’re talking about Jeffers/Jenkins/Boras guy, it doesn’t mean the Twins shouldn’t try. At the end of the day the players can decide for themselves.
