Not a surprise. Rocco has proved time and time again over his managerial tenure, that he has no clue on when to pull a pitcher.

At least we now know why we picked up Luplow. We might need to pitch him a couple times a week the way things are going.

Randy Dobnak, Twins Overlooked Depth
Hubie29 replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
If you want to lose all credibility, speak of Randy Dobnak as a possible overlooked arm creating depth. Enough is enough. -
Hey Bud, Loved your post. I too played strat as a kid, and still play today. Greatest baseball game ever! I am just a 61 yr old kid.

It sure is nice to just check the score after the game is over. Sure beats watching the whole game including this sad team. No way do they deserve to be a playoff team

Who is Balazovic anyway? How did he all of a sudden become one of our bullpen stoppers? Came out of nowhere, and probably should go back. What a sad excuse for a bullpen.

Couldn't agree more. It's been a year long thing for me. I used to live and die with the days twins result. Really don't even care anymore. Apathy? I think alot of twins territory has it.

If we land Thomas, he immediately becomes our #1 OF. Hard to believe huh? He would be an awesome leadoff hitter with power and average for years. What would be the price for that? Doubt it happens, but would love it if it did

Week in Review: Another Backslide
Hubie29 replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
And to think I got thumbs down from a few people a couple weeks ago after I said Rocco is a terrible manager. I can't even follow this team as long as I have to watch or listen to him, and I am an old schooler back to the Carew, Oliva Killer days. Just can't stand this team or manager. -
I hate this type of reasoning. Has been going on since I can remember. "We are getting player A,B and C back from injury, so it's like adding 3 players at the deadline without making a trade". HATE this! They are players we have had of and on all year and we are sitting at 5 games over .500. Has anyone ever heard of "adding" better talent than what you are getting back from injury to be a better ballclub? I just don't like the saying, "well, if we don't make any trades, we still have these guys coming back, which is like a trade". Rubbish.

Who puts the lineup out there? Can't have it both ways with your boy Baldelli. Worst manager the Twins have had in a very long time. Molitor was even better than him. You have to go back to Ray Miller to find someone worse.

Rocco is an American Legion coach at best. Senior or Junior legion is the only question.

I also don't know when hitting .230 - 250 became acceptable in MLB. It's pathetic

Do we have to be the team that doesn't have one? And yes, that is my stance. Do something to fix the problem. Sign a career 199 hitter for 11 mil that might hit a HR every 15 at bats but overlook someone that can put the ball in play and hit .280. Baseball has gotten away from the fundamentals of putting the ball in play to trying to see how hard and far you can hit it. I guess .280 is asking too much.

I am not just speaking of qualified. If they don't have required number of AB's doesn't mean they can't continue above .280. I count at least 40 over .280 either playing or on IL. Plus you can add the guys not in the majors that could hit over .280. I would say .280 isn't Ted Williams like it's only Cesar Tovar like! You can't find 3 guys like that? Cmon!

1. Wallner - Unproven but has showed potential. Need to be an everyday player the rest of the year to determine what his future will be. 2. Celestino - Has not impressed. Can be overlooked. 3. Gordon - Walking infirmary. Has showed potential to be a utility player but cannot stay on the field so we cannot count on him. 4. Larnach - Major disappointment at the MLB level. Cannot be counted on for long term. We are back to, we have no proven MLB outfielders in the pipeline. Probably the easiest position to fill with .280+ hitters. Just terrible foresight by the organization.

Someone earlier mentioned Lane Thomas. I really like him. Would be your leadoff hitter for years. He has speed, and some power and hits for a a really good avg. We need more players like him instead of the 30HR, 150 K's a year. Give me contact and avg before that. Would have to give up a high prospect to get him, but I think well worth it. I also like Friedl and Fraley from the Reds.

I won't comment other than to say this is a terrible lineup and pretty much what we have used all year except Buxton being DH and Polanco hurt as usual. These guys have proven for a couple years or more that they can't get it done. We need a major overhaul.

Thanks for reminding me. Larnach is another one you can demote or trade. I have zero confidence in his ability to hit and/or stay healthy. Wallner would be the one they need to ride the rest of the year out with. Have to figure out what he can do on an extended basis.
