  1. I like the trade considering who the Twins are. He ought to be a decent back up catcher which the Twins desperately need. Perhpas they can now move on from Gaspar when they make their next move. And for the love of Shaboom, please trade Larnach! Our young outfielders need to play MLB.
  2. 100%. I am on board with all of this. Emma's performance is MOST encouraging.
  3. No kidding. I can't see any value in considering Julien as part of the equation, especially in comparing him to Larnach. neither can field, but Larnach has hit some. I am ok with non tendering Larnach, but Julien is not the answer. Additionally, I have no idea why there is a so called crunch for the Twins 40 man roster. There are several players remaining, including Julien, who could easily be jettisoned.
  4. A continuation of the September lineup is not ok; I 100% agree with that. I will say that Clemens has a decent glove whereas Julien's is mostly iron. Ironglove Julien should never play a position for the Twins again. If I squint really really hard, maybe I can see his bat come around and he can DH. But not for the Twins. Julien needs to go. If he is a major league player, then some other team can resurrect his career. Clemens can be an ok 1st baseman and utility player until the Twins figure out a better option. I would give Fedko a chance or convert another player to first base. I've previously suggested Wallner and maybe it's not him. I don't care. It can't be Julien. He is an awful fielder.
  5. Torii might hit double digits this year just because it's a weak ballot and likely only one player gets 75%. Torii was a great MN Twin, but not a hall of famer. This year will likely be his best year (maybe 10%) on the ballot and after this year, I doubt he maintains the 5% necessary to remain on the ballot.
  6. I would have liked the Twins to protect both CJ & Kyler. Plenty of guys still on the 40 man that could easily be left unprotected starting with Gaspar and Julien.
  7. Recognizing that position players rarely get picked up in the rule 5 draft, I am concerned that Kyler Fedko wasn't protected. While a long shot, he could be a first base option and I don't think the Twins should be thinning out those options. Hopefully, he doesn't get picked up.
  8. I am definitely not a fan of his. In fact, I'm pretty clear that he should have resigned, or been fired.
  9. I think Falvey should have quit at the end of the season...unless he doesn't believe he can get another job in baseball. He could have quit because he was tired of the Pohlads pulling the rug out from under him. He also could have quit because he should take ownership of the mess the team is in right now. I am not a fan of Falvey's. I think he is complicit in the mess the Twins are in. But we will never know how much of this mess was dictated by the Pohlads. Some of his comments do seem to demonstrate the direction he wants the team to go without yet knowing what the Pohlads want.
  10. Exactly. Royce Lewis was listed as medium and that would mean that they are selling at his (hopefully) low point in value. It would be bizarre if any team came up with a trade for Lewis that matches his hopeful ceiling.
  11. I am starting to wonder about the proposed Minority Owners. It has been some time since it was announced that the Pohlad's were bringing them on. Has the deal fallen through? The Twins seem to be waiting on a resolution on their status before deciding on the plan for 2026. Of course, I recognize that this is pure speculation, but it's enough to concern me.
  12. I think the Twins should convert 2 or 3 starters to relievers. Prielipp, Festa and possibly Matthews.
  13. I think Castro was misued playing all those positions and I think it would be worse for Martin. Castro was overplayed in 2024 resulting in a significant decline the last 2 months of the season. In 2025 he was not great at any of his positions. Martin should be limited to left field and 2nd base as, to my eyes, those are his two best defensive positions. I hope they hang onto Martin because I like that he brings speed and athleticism to the lineup. That said, he is not a guy to build around. He is a decent piece. I can't imagine Larnach on the team next year even though he may not bring back much, if anything in trade value. I also have no problem if they trade Wallner. The Twins need to be more athletic. Lastly, I am not terribly bullish on Emma and think he might be able to bring some value as part of a trade.
  14. The Twins are rebuilding. For purposes of this exercise, I decided to go with existing players within the organization with the exception of Danny Coloumbe. Additionally, I did not assume trades. This meant retaining Matt Wallner and non tendering Larnach. Clearly, I took a flyer on Kyler Fedko at first base which is why I kept Kody Clemens as a utility player. The Twins need to either develop or trade for a long term answer at first base. While the first base rental plan has been decent, it's time to find a long term solution. I am excited about Kaelen Culpepper and Walker Jenkins making it to the bigs this season, but think they are unlikely to make the team out of spring training. Lastly, I don't know the salaries of many of the players, but it seems clear that the Twins are not going to invest heavily in salary in 2026. C: Ryan Jeffers ($6.60M) 1B: Kyler Fedko ($0.80M) 2B: Luke Keaschall ($0.80M) 3B: Royce Lewis ($3.0M) SS: Brooks Lee ($0.80M) LF: Austin Martin ($0.80M) CF: Byron Buxton ($15.00M) RF: Emmanuel Rodriguez ($0.80M) DH: Matt Wallner ($1.75M) 4th OF: Gabriel Gonzales ($0.80M) Utility: Kody Clemens ($1.00M) Utility: James Outman ($1.00M) Backup C: Jhonny Pereda ($0.80M) POS: Ryan Fitzgerald ($0.80M) SP1: Pablo Lopez ($21.50M) SP2: Joe Ryan ($5.80M) SP3: Bailey Ober ($4.60M) SP4: Zebby Matthews ($0.80M) SP5: Simeon Woods Richardson ($0.80M) RP: Taj Bradley ($2.00M) RP: Connor Prielipp ($0.80M) RP: Pierson Ohl ($0.80M) RP: David Festa ($0.80M) RP: Cole Sands ($1.30M) RP: Justin Topa ($1.70M) RP: Danny Coloumbe ($3.00M) RP: Kody Funderburk ($0.80M) POS: Andrew Morris ($.80M) Payroll is 27.05% under budget
  15. I like Sizemore joining the staff. I like Tommy Watkins off the staff at least as much. Good luck with the Braves.
  16. This certainly seems like a good hire. Glad for Latroy.
  17. I moved my family to Minnesota in 92 which means I just missed their glory years. That said, I've been a Twins fan since 92 and Buxton is my favorite Twins player ever. He is a magnifcent athlete and a pleasure to watch. And he appears to be a very good person on top of all of that.
  18. I think Twins management has gone to the "out house" quite a bit.
  19. Very well stated. After all the rhetoric, this is the exact point.
  20. For the love of Shaboom (sports deity...kidding), please let Watkins go.
  21. I agree with FlyingFinn. His OBP is pretty good, obviously, if he can bump his batting average up another 20 points, that would be helpful. What a nice change it would be if the Twins were excellent defensively up the middle.
