  1. I'll start by setting aside the no trade clause. The Twins are my team. But there is not a lot to like in terms of watching well played baseball. By that I mean, fielding, taking extra bases and all the little things. Buxton does those and it's a joy to watch. I hope they don't move the player who is, by far, the most interesting to watch.
  2. He ought to be able to bring a solid back up catcher. That is a position of need that needs immediate focus as it becomes an enormous problem next year.
  3. I wonder if the Twins should look at the AA roster for their temporary starter. John Klein?
  4. Very well said. I would like to add that the anonymity brought by social media has caused bullying behaviors far greater than the past (racism as an exception which has been and remains terrible). People say things on social media that they would not say face to face. They say things that they know are not right, but feel emboldened to do as it has become the norm. Our parents taught us better, but we don't pay attention anymore because "times have changed". I really think Social Media has had a terrible impact.
  5. Well "See ya", you clearly don't understand his no trade clause. But that's fine. Adios
  6. Why in the world would the Twins want to "dump" the Buxton contract? If they trade him (and he would have to agree), it would have to be for significant assets. And I don't think they should.
  7. Exactly. I've mentioned this a few times myself. I don't know about trading Duran, but the guys who become free agents are all on the block; and Castro could bring a solid return; certainly a solid #2 catcher.
  8. You beat me to it. I normally agree that our starters ought to go deeper when their pitch count is in order. But Festa needed a good outing and outcome. A couple more of those and he can start going deeper.
  9. Sadly, that is on the money. The Royce Lewis we saw in 2023 does not appear (athletically) to be the same guy in 2025.
  10. I am hopeful that Royce Lewis returns, plays well and remains healthy. Referring to him as a star player is difficult to comprehend given his limited track record.
  11. Given the terrible play by the parent club, the minor league reports are far and away the most interesting to me. Julien's bat is heating up. If only he had a position he could field. Kaelen Culpepper continues to impress.
  12. I think your analogy is poor. Going into specifics would only be unkind. Let's leave it at that; shall we?
  13. I love your optimism. Unfortunately, even if the Twins rebound, I don't believe they are nearly strong enough to go deep in the playoffs. I would certainly listen to offers on any of the players with expiring contracts if the Twins would benefit in the future from the deal.
  14. It's a thing called accountability. And it ought to send a message to the team that they have to play hard through 27 outs.
  15. I saw Winokur twice in spring training and was highly impressed. Played SS both games and looked good despite being really tall. Looks a bit like Ripken did before he filled out. If only that were his path!
  16. but slow and impotent is a problem! Reminds me of a quote from Animal House. "Fat, dumb and lazy is no way to go through life". I butchered the quote, but hey, it's been a few years/decades!
  17. While I don't disagree with your comments, I would add that firing Rocco might help fans believe that someone is paying attention. I do understand that he doesn't hit, pitch or field. I would also do something to shake up the players.
  18. Rocco needs to bench Lee for a couple of games after not running out the strike out/passed ball.
  19. I don't really understand the metric and definitely don't understand Buxton's number.

  21. I think the Twins should sink or swim with what they have. Any trade, even a successful one, is not going to make the Twins a true world series threat. I would like to see a focus on our younger players rather than retreads or guys who are never going to be everyday players. Let's see what these guys have. Keaschall is an obvious choice to play every day. I hope he is back soon. The twins certainly have a number of players on the 40 man roster who are not worthy.
