  1. Twins 7, Yankees 0. Cat bites dog. Twins result a happy occurrence...anomoly.
  2. They both need to buy first baseman's gloves and hope to impress elsewhere or in spring training.
  3. I agree, but don't tell Baldelli that analytics aren't anything. He might challenge you to a duel. Pistols maybe. Martin is hitting darned well and the fact that he is playing a lot seemingly has everything to do with it.
  4. Same for me Doc. Baldelli has shown all to frequently that he doesn't trust his eyes and manages soley by his spread sheet. His sudden "discovery" of aggressive base running is sad. Sad in that it took so long and one of his assistants to talk him into it. Next thing you know, he might discover the value of playing players at their best positions.
  5. Great job putting into words exactly how I feel about Byron. He is an electrifying player and certainly appears to be a darned good guy. He has been my favorite Twins since he came up.
  6. I always thought of Plouffe as the "statue" of liberty at 3rd. Little to no mobility.

  8. I like picking up Bradley and feel like he can be a solid #4 type of starter. Jax has had a poor season and Bradley can help.
  9. Let Julien pack; he would probably drop his suitcases on the way out.
  10. I feel similarly. It's difficult to understand that he can't make himself an adequate fielder. I think most of us thought, at one time, that he was good enough to make that happen.
  11. I agree with just about everything you stated. This is, of course, the optimistic perspective. It's easy to not be hopeful at all given the poor leadership from Pohlad to Falvey and Rocco. I certainly don't care for the ownership or Rocco. If I'm honest, Falvey has some excuses, namely the Pohlads. That said, his corporate speak and BS comments continue to be enfuriating. If the Twins keep the rotation intact for next season, then your optimistic comments could come to fruition. Here's hoping!
  12. Eduardo Tait is just killing it in High A ball. I'm trying not to get overly excited about it, but what else is there? Might as well hope he is a difference maker.
  13. I think first base is Wallner's best bet to remain on the team. His play in the outfield is not acceptable. Also, I don't trust Emma as a guy who can hold down an everyday position (health). He has been unable to do so in the minors.
  14. I think the power is going to happen for Jenkins. He seems to have really quick hands at the plate and an ability to turn on inside pitches.
  15. Wallner needs to buy a first baseman's glove and figure out a new position this winter. Otherwise, he simply can't continue to butcher right field. I am pretty much ok with moving on from any and all of the Twins crummy fielding players. Julien, Larnach, Miranda and probably Wallner all need to play somewhere else. And that's not touching the other players who ought not be on the roster next season.
  16. I'm mostly concerned about Festa's arm problems which seemingly point towards a relief and possible closer role. I think this makes sense and I hope like heck the Twins don't trade Ryan or Lopez. But if one must be traded, then my preference is that it is Lopez.
  17. I like even more that he is starting to play well in the field and he stole a base. Good signs.
  18. Royce isn't going anywhere. His trade value is at a low point and the Twins are too invested to dump him. I still have hope for his turn around. I like that he had the mobility to steal a base last night as well as attempt a stolen base the night before. Perhaps he is healthy enough to flash the athleticism we all saw 2 years ago.
  19. I see no evidence that Prielipp's future is as a starter. Has good potential as a reliever.
