  1. I'm not sure trading Kepler at this point is in the twins best interest, he's coming off a mediocre to bad offensive year with a solid defensive background. The defensive upside is there at the trade deadline just as much as it is now. His offense has been pretty stable since his breakout 2019 so he probably isn't going to get worse and you might see his avg tick up a bit with the shift ban (probably not a lot with all the grounders) but he could be a player that can raise his value early in the year and be unlikely to lower it. A team desperate for a player in the outfield due to injury or under performance would probably be willing to move relief prospect or a reliever with some years left to bring in Kepler for the end of the year. I definitely don't hate sitting on him to see if they can get a bit more value out of him taking advantage of a situation and giving larnach or Wallner a bit of time in AAA to start the year.
  2. I can't imagine a more miserable way to start watching every game than Gallo flailing at a ball for an out day after day for the chance he hits 2 or 3 leadoff 1 run homeruns
  3. The first month or two of the season will be big for Lopez and the FO, sending Arraez out for someone who doesn't immediately perform and at a high level can turn a fan base pretty quick. I doubt they could have gotten a better pitcher for what the had available on the roster but this seems like a move that saves the FO or the last straw among a lot of fans. Wish the guy luck and can't blame the FO for the move but will definitely add some intrigue early especially if Arraez starts hot like last year.
  4. Here's a link to the states covered by each of the bally sports regional services, Looks like Iowa is tied with the St Louis market. If you're northern Iowa it might be different or depend on who's playing at what times. Unfortunately you're probably in the terrible situation most people are where you have to have mlb tv to watch most of the games but timing of when St. Louis or Chicago, or Kansas city the Twins could end up being the "local" game and black it out on the service. It's a complete disaster with the way they have this set up. You're best bet would probably be to see if anyone near you tried to sign up for mlb tv before, or if they have bally sports north (or if its a different version) available with cable providers at your address to get a better idea of who your local team is for your zip code
  5. As far as I know they still aren't on it. I think I remember reading somewhere that there was a disagreement between Bally and the MLB to the point MLB was considering lawsuits to terminate the contract. I imagine something gets figured out before the start of the season because there were some other MLB teams that hadn't been added yet to their regional Bally networks streaming service. From Bally Sports FAQ: Q: Why can't I find my baseball team on the app? Bally Sports currently has the rights to stream the Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals, Miami Marlins, Milwaukee Brewers and Tampa Bay Rays on Bally Sports+. We are in discussions with MLB and our other MLB team partners to expand our offering in 2023.
  6. I always wondered if that tarp was better to jump into or if Hunter was just that good at taking the impact in a way that kept him from getting hurt. It's been a while but I can't say I remember him ever having any sort of impactful injury from that wall.
  7. Specifically with the Twins stadium I think it might be a good idea to get rid of the gaps filled with chain link in front of the bullpens. As a fan its kind of nice to have the extra visibility, but every time I see an outfielder run into that section of wall and an arm or leg gets hooked on it weird it's terrifying.
  8. Also seeing really bad load times, lots of 504s as well
  9. I feel like the FO is taking the gamble in the next 6 years they can have at least 1 or 2 seasons both play 120+ games and are available in the playoffs with a decent to good young group of supporting players to make a deep run. With both of them the way they've been I don't hate the idea of it. With the payroll they have it's probably the most likely scenario to bring a championship. Obviously pitching has been an issue but there's enough depth to the rotation its not impossible to have 3 or 4 guys develop into worthwhile starters in that 6 year window.
  10. When I saw the Mets signed him I assumed they offered near or exactly what the Giants did to steal him. Seeing it just barely above what the Twins offered when I'm sure they already knew any medical issues that could have come up after a year with him blew me away. How do you not make that last push when the price just dropped him so close to your previous offer. Especially when you've seen Gallo is the best you can do with what's left??? This is more infuriating to me than the initial miss as I can't see the Twins at 350 but come on matching 315 or slightly better wasn't an option? I have to imagine matching the deal and saying you're our SS not our 3B would have helped their cause.
  11. I completely agree, especially with Kepler still on the roster. It sure feels like he'll be gone but if not, Gallo and Kepler are going to get most of the starts out there with their defense so Gordon would be down to only a couple games a week at best when Buxton needs rest. I'd rather give him the chance to prove he can be an everyday player before Lewis is back and either have a super valuable trade piece in him or the ability to ship someone else out and have Gordon take the spot.
  12. I find it encouraging, I think it reinforces the idea that the talent we have at the upper end of the farm system is there but other issues have blocked it's arrival. Aside from Miranda every player up there has had some injuries prevent them from fully establishing themselves but all have shown stretches of being able to play at a starter level or better. Assuming the twins injury luck gets better with a new trainer and the first normal off-season in years it'll be fun to watch them all get some playing time together.
  13. Was very low on Buxton after his first two years with his offense. Regardless of Injuries its been great seeing him hit the ball more consistently and develop far more power than I think anyone thought he would. I thought the Berrios trade would hurt more than it has, I liked the trade since I didn't think we'd keep him long term anyways but expected him to be in the top 3 for a cy young after he left.
