  1. SWR is the only player on that list who belongs on a major league roster. Most of them should be AAA lifers. Clemens might find a job because he's shown some power. SWR still has potential, if this coaching staff can find it.
  2. It would have been nice to see the Twins call up guys who actually could have an impact next season. Adams (yawn), Davis (bigger yawn) and Keirsey (tranquilizer) do not belong on the big league roster next year. Someone like Fedko or Gabriel Gonzalez would have been a better choice, giving them the chance to learn the difference in batting against big league pitchers.
  3. Good riddance. So tired of watching his half-hearted swings and his coasting while running the bases. Can't imagine his lack of hustle played well in the clubhouse.
  4. If the Twins trade Duran or Joe Ryan, they are idiots. They are the foundation of the pitching staff, one that could be good in the next few years. Trade off the short-time players, but don't sell off the guys who give us a chance to win in the future.
  5. I don't know what Correa's contract status is, but would it benefit the Twins to trade Correa? He appears to be going through the motions. Could the Twins put together a Rafael Devers type deal for Correa? Trade him and Vasquez to the Angels for Zach Neto, O'Hoppe and Demers? Just an idea.
  6. Woods-Richardson deserves the fourth spot much more than Paddack. Paddack is so danged fragile that counting on him for anything more than 15 starts this season could easily blow up in your face.
  7. Starting Prielipp in the bullpen might be the best way to manage the wear and tear on his arm. He's got immense up-side, but management has to be really patient with him.
  8. If they pull off a trade for Paddack or Vasquez, they could throw in Julien as a sweetener. Two years ago he was hotter than hot and they could use that as a selling point.
  9. Severino looked completely clueless in most of his at-bats at St. Paul. Swinging at pitches outside the zone, etc. I feel bad for Winder. He seems like a decent pitcher, if he could ever stay healthy.
  10. Restocking the bullpen and the pitching staff is by far the biggest need. Teams in the playoffs are winning by using 6-8 pitchers in a game. Competent starting pitching is now a luxury. You need to have 10-15 arms in your pipeline that are ready to pitch out of the bullpen to start a season. Dumping Vasquez's contract and resolving first base are needs as well.
  11. Watching Cavaco in the minor league setting was interesting. He seemed to not have a care in the world. He had his money and he wasn't going to put in much effort after getting that big check. How young players react to getting paid is always a question mark in drafts and Cavaco clearly was just in it for the money.
  12. I agree on Zebby over Festa. Watched one of Festa's starts in St. Paul. He wasn't blazing anything past the opposing hitters and his other pitches weren't wowing anybody either.
  13. I'm hoping the front office is getting tired of the excuses. The Twins have the talent to win this division, they just don't have the guidance.
  14. When are the sharks going to start swirling around Rocco, or at least the hitting coaches? It's ridiculous to see the Twins shut out again versus marginal pitching.
  15. Are the Twins thinning out their minor league rosters? I saw Cruz's release and they cut Garry Jr. and Soularie in the past week as well.
  16. Do the Twins have a glut of minor league outfielders or are they cutting bait on some prospects who aren't producing? Saw Willie Garry got cut the other day and now Alerick Soularie has been cut. Both were once considered decent prospects.
  17. After watching the Saints, I agree. There isn't anyone on their infield that ever belongs in the majors. There are a few pitchers with promising arms, but it's not an overabundance of talent.
  18. Excellent article. I'm not a fan of the pitching staff. The starting rotation is paper thin and we'll likely need 8-10 different starters throughout the season. Not a huge fan of the bullpen either. There are very few arms there that have proven anything. I think 81 wins with this group would be a success.
  19. This trade makes no sense. Margot isn't any better than Duvall or the other options out there. Giving up on a former first round draft choice this soon is a complete bungle by the front office.
  20. I think this is pretty accurate at this point, but I certainly hope the team addresses the rotation. I have no faith that Paddack will make it to July healthy and asking Varland to put in a full season as a starter at this level feels like a reach.
  21. I love the idea of signing Hopkins. Kiriloff hasn't proven he can stay healthy and Miranda is looking like a flash in the pan who will fade away. Giving up Wallner would be a heavy price, but the Twins desperately need starting pitching.
  22. Trade him already. He's surplus, whether you try him at 2B, 1B or DH. It's the way of the baseball world, Small market teams trade off their overpriced veterans, even if $10M isn't astronomical. It'll free budget space and bring back prospects.
  23. Why trade away prospects for Alonso? Sign Rhys Hopkins. Break the wallet open!
  24. I'd rather get Taylor back than bring in Kiermeier. Kiermeier can't stay healthy anymore.
  25. Definitely trade Polanco. Get a young pitching arm that can help the staff for the next several years.
