  1. This team fell into the Fenway trap as usual. They all were trying to hit the ball off or over the LF wall.
  2. Just another game where they decided to not play baseball. Watching Cleveland do all the little things and the Twins not. How do you lose a game when you have 12 hits to Cleveland 2 hits going into the 9th inning. They seem to find a way to keep giving games away. This has to go on Rocco and he has to go. How many extra inning games has he let slip away.
  3. It's time that he learns to be a pitcher not a thrower. He believes he can throw his pitches past hitters. That mentality is fine if you can locate the pitches,he can't. I remember a pitcher in the past who thought the same named Berrios. Until that day happens he will be watching hits going into the seats.
  4. Apparently some of us don't see a sarcastic post when read. I think everyone knows scouts and coaches don't want pitches thrown down the middle. My point was don't keep throwing the same pitch again and again until you make a mistake.
  5. Scouting is telling pitchers fastballs down the middle to Manzardo and Naylor. Apparently no one payed attention to Naylor's at bat the night before. Paddock kept throwing fastballs by him until he timed him up. Then of course the Little League team shows up with Jeffers and Lopez. Let's throw the ball into RF and hit the pitcher in the back.
  6. I have said for years Varland isn't a pitcher,he is a thrower. He basically put the pitch on the tee for Manzardo. The offense was also a no show which seems to happen after a big game the day before. Enough already with Julien leading off. He apparently doesn't understand his job is take some pitches so the hitters behind him get a look.
  7. Let's not get to excited about Lewis until he has been back on the field for at least 6 weeks. He has not shown he can stay healthy since being brought up. Hopefully Larnach stays hot so that not having Wallner until June isn't a problem. It seems like Bride is OK filling in for Castro from the right side of the plate.
  8. No Duran tonight with the trouble he created on his own. Took 32 pitches to get a fly ball out that only a few CF would get to.
  9. I can only say Rocco Ball doesn't work in the Majors. It might be fine in a beer league. Players have routines and aren't going to perform when they don't know what position or where in the lineup they are. The team's with winning records run the same players out game after game.
  10. Time for a reality check this team has checked out. They are swinging at first pitch they see or watching strike 3 in the middle of the zone. They had 2 good games against the Mets, but went right back to not playing baseball. To all the fans who think it will turn around playing the Sox and Angels good luck with that. Nothing looks like that is going to happen. You can't play the bad baseball like they do and win games. It doesn't matter who the other team is. Time for Rocco to do the right thing and Resign please.
  11. The team is unwatchable at this point, sure glad I didn't have to fork out the $100.00. Apparently the the Polhad's and Falvey just don't care about the fans and hopefully it will show at the gate. I was so surprised to hear that Buxton decided to not just swing for the fences.
  12. When you tee up the ball it gets hit. Jax has been doing just that with his slider and or sweeper. The offense was good when they made Elder work, but had far to many 1 pitch at bats. To start the game Julien 1 pitch and done. Leadoff hitter needs to take some pitches that's his job. Buxton as well did the same thing, also looked like he was back swinging for the fences. Can't give these games away, because Saturday facing Sale.
  13. Team is finally playing baseball. When you get the ball in play you have a chance to make things happen. Buxton getting on base puts pressure on the other team's defense. With him on 2nd in the 10th and France at the plate who hits the ball the other way game over. Jax is leaving too many pitches in the middle of the zone and needs to clean that up. Bader would of been safe if he didn't over slide the base. The oven mitt gives them a extra couple inches but can't hold the bag.
  14. What I saw last night was Buxton finally doing what he should be doing. He had good at bats and not swinging for the fences. When he is on base he makes the other team nervous. The other thing was getting the leadoff hitter on inning after inning and to 3rd base by stealing 2nd and hitting behind the runner. With Wallner and Correa probably out for awhile this is the kind of baseball that has to be played.
  15. The biggest problem is the manager,he thinks that 1st base,SS and CF are the only everyday positions. It's musical chairs for all other positions. Then the other problem is the FO fires him and puts Tingler as interm manager and he is just a different face but the same guy. The Polhad's deserve what they have with this team, but the fans don't.
  16. Don't worry be happy!! Their back to playing bad baseball. The pitchers don't hit and apparently now can't make throws to first. And the 2 big dollar players are hitting like pitchers. And all the folks saying the starters look good, they are toast in 5 innings or less. Ryan was at 40+ pitches after 2 innings and 100 after 5. At this rate they will need to be looking at the waiver wire for BP arms by May 1st.
  17. Good win today but don't forget the same manager is still in dugout.
  18. All I can say is that I'm glad my phone provider give me MLB TV because I certainly wouldn't pay for this. I usually come to town for father's day and attend a game but told family let's go to a steak dinner instead. Watching this game was like watching a little league game. Listening to Rocco talk about Paddock what was he watching,I saw a pitcher going 3-2 on hitter after hitter. I'm tired of the booth piling on the praise for this team. They are a bunch of you know what kissers. All the talk about Correa this and that will be over soon. He wants to win and can't with this little league team. By June he will be dropping the no trade clause and want out. This is a lifeless team and the management has lost them. They have earned 5th place and look like they will remain there.
  19. This team has now started to invent ways to lose games. Let's hit a down lineup partime player to get to the top of the lineup. The one good thing about tonight is the game is on Apple TV so I won't see it.
  20. Can't score runs when you strike out 12 times. We were told they were going to change their hitting philosophy. I guess that change was don't get the ball in play, just strike out. Correa finally gets a hit and ends up not even moved to 3rd base. The game is called baseball when will this team learn that if ever. The only good thing from last night was because of where I live I couldn't see the game.
  21. Last time I looked bat speed means very little when you strike out 4 times. He will never be the player he could of been. He is someone who now believes he is a power hitter. He should be using his speed to run bases and be a problem for the other team. Hopefully Lewis won't end up turning into another Buxton as well. Unfortunately that seems to be headed in that direction.
  22. Hey its cold outside!! I don't think Correa could be any colder. Every at bat he has looks worse than the one before. And then of course Buxton is back to swinging for the fences again. Can't see this team being more than a 4th place team.
  23. Mistakes all around in this one,Bader's throw to 2nd not to Correa cost a run. Not getting the BP up after Paddock's walk to the leadoff hitter to start the 5th. Having Castro at 3rd who looked like he had never played the position. I could go on with more but I won't. One last thing that I have said for at least 2 years Varland isn't a pitcher,he is a thrower. He is clueless on where the ball is going when he throws it.
  24. How about benching a player for swinging at 3 pitches neck high and inside. Then swinging at a pitch that bounced on the plate. Apparently he has lost the ability to know the zone. It's time to make moves with players who don't have their heads in the game. This team has become too wily nilly and the manager has lost them.
