  1. Let's face it...there's no way they're going to sign Rodon. Bassitt would be a much more affordable option, and probably better long term. He's not an "ace", but he's very solid and durable. They also have to get a catcher in here. Whether it's Vasquez or Narvaez...get one of them. I don't know what's going to happen with CC, but it would be great to get him to stay here. We also all know the pen needs some help. The FO needs to get going on this stuff before all the desirable players are scooped up by other teams. Time to get moving.
  2. I'm sure some of you keep better tabs on this subject than I do, but I don't recall Kep saying anything whatsoever about not wanting to play CF, or that he prefers RF...he really doesn't say much of anything in the media at all. No doubt he's excellent in RF, and he's definitely above average in CF. That doesn't take away from what concerns most, if not all of us...that is, his hitting. He's turned into a total liability at the plate. He's killing us at the front end of the lineup, and Rocco just keeps putting him at lead off, or at least in the top five, every time he plays.
  3. No matter what you think of our FO, I'd be willing to bet that they're "kicking the tires" on several trades with several teams. Maybe they do something soon...maybe they don't. We'll see what develops.
  4. The has to be better options than Hamels. Imo...this seems like another JA Happ, Homer Bailey, Matt Shoemaker kind of scenario.
  5. According to Doogie, the Twins have made an offer to get Vasquez. We'll see what happens.
  6. So you're telling me...there's a chance? Mostly good news there, that's for certain. Hard to see us winning a battle for him with SF, but you never know. It's definitely very quiet on the Twins front right now. I don't know if that's good or bad.
  7. Oh darn...I thought we had a real shot at getting him!
  8. The Rangers must be printing money with the amount they're spending over the past couple years...wow!
  9. At this point, I honestly don't think he's worth a lot in terms of trade value. We won't get much in return, if we do deal him. I agree, his OF defense is great, and there are plenty of players who stick in the majors because of their defensive ability. As far as his bat...he definitely has fallen off the cliff. I'm not smart enough to know what's happened to him...whether he's focused too much on launch angle, or if he's trying to pull everything, etc. Whatever it is, he's a liability at the plate. No way should he be hitting at or near the top of the order, like he has been. He's got to be down at the bottom of the order. I think a good hitting coach would be able to help him tremendously...I don't think we have that person. I'd be willing to give it some more time to see if the new shift rules have any effect on his hitting, but I wouldn't want to do another whole season of his futility, if nothing changes. If the right deal does comes along, I'd trade him.
  10. Now that Turner signed with the Phils, I'd expect the Giants and the Dodgers to set their sights on Correa.
  11. They better not trade him for someone who ends up being two starts from getting TJ surgery.
  12. I wish he was coming here, but I doubt it. My guess is, he goes to the Cards.
  13. Outstanding article! Should be an interesting week all around.
  14. I'd LOVE to somehow get Reynolds here. Don't have any idea if it's possible, or if the FO is even interested. They'd be crazy not to at least make a call and explore it. Derek Shelton is the Pirates manager, so he knows a lot of our players. He was the bench coach here for a couple years. Reynolds has been a rumored trade target for teams for a while, but Pitt has been adamant about not moving him.
  15. Lotta moolah for a guy who hasn't pitched much in the last few years.
  16. In my opinion, he's a solid middle of the rotation guy...and there sure isn't anything wrong with that. He might even end up being a little better than that.
  17. Hey...little Zach might make better decisions than the current FO!
  18. What they should do, is have it at the Minneapolis Convention Center. It would be the perfect place for Twins Fest.
  19. Above average when healthy...and let's hope he is/will be. Not an "ace".
  20. We need a catcher. Let's face it...Jeffers isn't the guy. He's average at best defensively, and he can't hit.
  21. We don't need another guy who's spent more time on the IL, than he has actually pitching.
  22. Staying healthy, and staying on the field and in the lineup.
  23. There's no rush. He's not going anywhere unless the Twins want him to. Let's see how 2023 goes.
  24. More than likely, and hopefully, this move has been in the works for a while now. The "effective immediately" is surprising. No matter what anyone thinks of Jim Pohlad, I'm sure no one would want it to be health related. In my opinion, I'd want Joe Pohlad to be more involved than his uncle seemed to be, more interested in the success of the team, and in more touch with the fan base. Yes, it's a business for them, and their family is in it to make a profit, but we're a long way from our two WS titles. I'd want him...to WANT to win. I guess in general...be as much a fan of the Twins and MLB baseball, as he is an owner. Hope that makes sense.
