  1. I would have rather kept Gio for around the same money. We didn't need Gallo, and he's not worth $11 mil.
  2. Can't help you my friend...I just jumped.
  3. This HAS to be a RandBalls Stu thing...right? This can't possibly be correct, can it? We just got rid of one homer happy strike out guy, and now we get his left handed clone? So what if he's good defensively, WE DON'T NEED GALLO! I'm jumping on the bandwagon with Brock...I'm done with this FO. They must be insane. WTF we need this guy for, I have no idea. I'll take Kep any day over Gallo.
  4. At this point...I'd lean toward doing a full rebuild. Blow it up and start over. Let ALL the kids play. Just like the 1980's. At least that might be fun to watch. It's obvious this FO/ownership isn't going to spend the money necessary to land any of the top FA's out there. Even the one(s) we desperately need. It's just not in their business model plan. Getting Correa last season was a total fluke. Even though there's time left before ST, it sure doesn't look like that they're really trying to make any trades to help things out. All we've done is sign a catcher...which we absolutely had to do. If by some miracle, we'd make the playoffs, we'd get bounced right away by whomever we play. No matter what, it's the same old story here. I love the Twins, and I won't stop watching them, but I know how this tale turns out.
  5. Not a surprise...that's where he wanted to go.
  6. C'mon...seriously? No, no, no!
  7. Ain't gonna happen.
  8. Now that CC went to the Giants, the market/money for Swanson goes even higher. I doubt we get him. Get ready for Farmer and whomever else they might bring in here at short.
  9. Insane money. Our FO/ownership wasn't going to do that. Best of luck to him. NOW...it gets interesting. What will the FO do with Swanson, if they want to pivot to him...and what will they do as far as trades and other FA's?
  10. They probably have a better chance of getting Rodan from the Godzilla movies, than they do of getting Rodon. As you can see...Rodan likes to pitch inside!
  11. I'd take Swanson in a heartbeat, if we don't sign CC. Swanson is a very good ball player. Might be better offensively, and solid defensively too. My feeling is...we have to get one of those two guys. CC would be the preference, Swanson, if CC goes elsewhere.
  12. Vasquez was with Boston when the Stros were banging the trash cans.
  13. Milwaukee definitely got the best of this thing. If I was Atlanta, I'd rather keep Contreras, than trade to get Murphy. It doesn't add up. It sure doesn't help us at all...I'd love to have Murphy or Contreras, but it's a pretty strange deal.
  14. ...and the rich get richer. He would've looked good in a Twins uni, but I'm sure our FO didn't want to give the A's enough to get him..
  15. You're absolutely 100% correct and I agree completely. That's the way the Twins do business. Imo, the thing/problem is...there's always going to be a team, and possibly several teams, that ARE willing to overpay for a player. Sometimes you have to be willing to do that, to get what you want. The Twins need to be flexible enough to make an exception, when the situation dictates it. I'm not saying that they should way overpay for Correa, or Vasquez, or whomever...just that they need to consider doing that, rather than having a flat, cutoff dollar figure.
  16. Happened to see this... in a recent article, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic, The Twins have offered Correa "a massive contract far beyond anything in franchise history". No specifics yet as to what that offer entails. View full rumor

  18. I can't see the Yanks going after Correa, that's baloney. They're going after pitching, not a SS. It's the Giants, Cubs, and us...and I'm not real keen on our chances right now. It's pretty clear that the FO is completely focused on CC, or possibly Swanson, because they're not doing anything. Nothing will happen until we find out where those two guys go.
  19. Arraez is 25 and just won a batting title. If that's as good as he's gonna get, that's still pretty damn good. I think his power numbers will probably improve over time. He's shown he can turn on an inside fastball and give it a ride at times. Remember, Rod Carew and Tony Gwynn were considered "contact hitters" too, and they turned out pretty well.
