  1. Doesn't matter who we sign/get for the pen, if we don't use our starting pitchers differently. Whether by design, or effectiveness...we can't keep letting starters go 3-4-5 innings EVERY start. That will kill the bullpen over the course of the season. I think we need a new philosophy in regards to how we use our pitchers.
  2. Who knows? One thing's for sure...they won't improve it by bringing Duffey back. I'm sure that pic is him watching another ball leave the park!
  3. I'd be mostly ok with Fulmer, and maybe Rogers depending on the deal. Don't want May back at all.
  4. C'mon...if that's the "rebrand"...why do anything at all? Not much of a difference.
  5. The Twins should've tried to make a move to get Murphy at the deadline, this past season. He'd be a huge upgrade over Jeffers, and he would've been over Sanchez too. I'd love to see him in a Twins uni. .
  6. Yeah...sure he is. I'll bet he's got the blank check all signed and ready to go.
  7. This should solve all our injury problems and we'll never need to use the IL again. 162 games by Buxton? Done, Kirilloff wrist issues? Gone. Pitchers going under the knife for TJ? Never. Baldelli with a hangnail? Perish the thought. Ocean front property in Arizona? You betcha!
  8. Sure...someday. It's certainly unlikely, but anything is possible. This just in...it won't be Jeffers.
  9. This has the makings of a smoke-screen move by Boras. It's probably nothing. I don't think I'd put a whole lot of stock in it for now...it's way too early for that. If I was LA, I'd much rather find a way to keep Turner, than sign CC. Don't get me wrong...I do think that CC is a goner, but not to LA.
  10. There is a less than zero chance that DeGrom comes here. Ain't...gonna...happen. Try to get Rodon, or Bassitt...and even those two guys would be highly unlikely. I'm sure there are other pitchers out there that would be a pretty good fit here. Please, just make sure to get rid of Archer and Bundy!!!
  11. I like Polanco, but I agree he's a pretty good trade chip. Just my opinion...I think I'd explore moving him for pitching, and put Arraez at 2nd, Miranda at 1st, and keep Urshela to play at 3rd.
  12. I don't particularly want either of those three guys. I'd love for CC to stay, as unlikely as that is. Let's wait and see how things play out a bit. There's a long winter in front of us.
  13. Stashak...no. Let him go. Enlow...maybe. At least give him a look. If you gave Sands innings, you can give Enlow a look.
  14. As Jean-Luc Picard would say..."Make it so!" Bartender...make mine a double!
  15. Just about anything would be an upgrade over Garlick.
  16. Decent stuff, decent velo...zero command. Barely serviceable in a mop up role. Anything else is a disaster. Much better options will be available. Find another sucker and ship him over to them.
  17. Why? Organizational depth? Maybe we can't hit the guy, but someone has been. C'mon...we've got much better alternatives than Davis.
  18. Talk is very cheap, and he's saying the right things at the moment, but I do think he'll opt out. That doesn't necessarily mean he's gone. I think he really does like it here, and it's very clear he's the leader on this team. All the younger guys look up to him and I believe the vets do too. Even guys like Buxton, Polanco, and Kepler. I think CC enjoys that leadership role. I'd love to have him as the SS for the next several years. He hasn't produced offensively as much as we'd hoped, but he doesn't have the team around him like he did in Houston either. That being said, he's far from an automatic out like a few of the guys we currently have in the lineup. Defensively, he's superb. Probably the best SS we've ever had here. I hope that he ends up staying.
  19. I think some team will take a flyer out on him. I doubt he'll clear and stay with the organization.
  20. Wow...another stellar performance by Pagan and Duffey. Megill was just as bad last night too. There might be some hope left for him, but not the other two. When will someone in the organization wake up and realize that Pagan and Duffey are just plain bad, and are only to be used in mop up situations. You can't throw Pagan out there with a tight one run lead and expect him to hold it. Pagan and Duffey have run out of chances, it's time to dump them.
  21. It's been one game. I think we need to slow the roll a bit. Sure it looks like we made a couple decent additions to the pen, along with a good starter. I'd prefer to wait 2-3 weeks and see how things shake out, and also how Rocco is going to use them.
  22. Castillo is gone. If the Twins want ANY of these pitchers, they're going to have to up the ante to get them. I wouldn't bet on them doing that.
