  1. Ryan might get out of the jam...2 out now. Fingers crossed.
  2. SF has runners on 2nd and 3rd with nobody out in the 1st inning. Not a good way for Ryan to start.
  3. We need to salvage the finale today, because it's not getting any easier...the Jays are here next, and then we go to Hou. Back here for four with Cleve, then go to TB and to Toronto for the Jays again! We could be 10 games under .500 by the end of this stretch. Time to get some things straightened out and start winning games.
  4. This is a .500...or possibly below that...team. They can't hit consistently, and they have a very shaky pen. The starting pitchers have been great, but that might be hard to continue thru an entire season. You're just not going to win games on a consistent basis, when you score 1, 2, or 3 runs a game. It's not going to happen. I'm not smart enough to come up with a solution, but this team isn't going anywhere as it's constructed right now.
  5. Weather report: We went from Sonny to cloudy, with a chance for storms.
  6. Why is Gallo at 1B and AK in RF? I'll admit...I have no idea what Baldelli is doing most of the time, and I think I'm done even trying to figure it out. I'm just too old for my ancient baseball brain to find the logic in these moves.
  7. It's true that it ultimately comes down to the players and how they're performing. Right now, even though we're still a couple games over .500, they're not doing much to win games. I see a .500, or below that, team. If we pitch well, and hit well, we can overcome anything the manager does. I've always been in the camp that believes Rocco is in way over his head. I don't care for him as a manager and I doubt he'll ever do anything to sway my opinion.
  8. Pagan...walks the leadoff guy. What a shocker!
  9. WOW! I have absolutely no recollection of Steinbach doing any games with Bremer. I must have blocked it out.
  10. We're getting dusted by a guy with a 7.81 ERA and a 1.70 WHIP. He's got 10 K's on us too.
  11. Not off to a real good start tonight. C'mon Twins...get it in gear!
  12. Was it the 66 WS? Orioles and Dodgers. I believe LA only scored like 2 runs the whole series.
  13. I like Julien at the 1 spot. We need to get the bats going early and win these home games.
  14. Haven't seen the actual lineup yet, but I have Buxton on a couple of my fantasy teams, and he's supposedly playing tonight. If it's correct, that's great news.
  15. Agree. I'd play him against righties and lefties. He can hit them.
  16. The PGA club pro, Mike Block just made an ace at #15! Just jarred it! What a story!!!
  17. It was a lot. I should have done a stand! Never thought of it. We actually ate most of the produce, and my wife and mom in-law used to do some canning too. Also gave some to the neighbors. Too much work for this old fossil to do now. Good eatin though!
  18. Nice! Those will be great. This year I put in six Early Girls, four Sweet 100 cherry tomatoes, and twelve Kohlrabi. I used to do 25-30 tomato plants and other asst veggies, but it's too much work for me now. I had to downsize to something I can take care of.
  19. I would rather have gotten a bat from a player, but I had Dave Kingman give me the bird once at Shea Stadium back in the mid 70's!
