  1. I'm a little surprised Fulmer is still out there, but I don't necessarily want him back. If he was so desirable, someone would have signed him by now. I'm guessing that our FO doesn't want him.
  2. Celestino definitely needs more time in the minors. He was absolutely not ready to be in the bigs last year. He was overmatched at the plate, on the field, and mentally. He's only 23. Maybe he figures it out and makes it, maybe he doesn't, but he shouldn't be with the Twins right now.
  3. Polanco. Buck isn't a lead off hitter, and never was. If they put Gallo at the 1 spot, I'll rip up my tickets.
  4. Sorry...you lost me at "master class trade".
  5. Mauer the catcher is HOF worthy. Mauer the 1st baseman isn't. Obviously, the injuries dictated that. He'll eventually get in, but not the first time.
  6. Just saw the the fish are supposedly backing off going after Gurriel, after trading for Arraez. I hope this doesn't mean that we're going to go after him. There's no reason for us to be in on Gurriel at all.
  7. I wish him the best, but I won't miss him. Not enough velo to make it work. When he was hitting his spots, he was average at best...when he wasn't, he got lit up pretty good.
  8. I never liked Buck as the leadoff hitter. He's just not the right guy for that, even though the Twins seem to think he is. I'd bet anything he starts the year at the #1 spot. I'd go Polanco rather than Buxton. The truth is, they don't really have a good leadoff hitter. Please don't use C4 or any of the other guys at the #1 spot.
  9. Like that great old Happenings song lyrics..."See you, in September...see you, when the summers through" .
  10. Don't try and "make" him into anything. Imo...he's better than anyone we have in the rotation right now. Good FB and a very good change. Decent complimentary pitches too. First off...I don't think we have the pitching coach(es) to even start to change what a particular pitcher is doing. Second...he wasn't doing too badly for the fish, with what he's already doing. If he's healthy and stays healthy, he'll be a good addition to the staff.
  11. I hope not. There's no need for Gurriel here.
  12. I don't know if either of them has "anything left", as long as they're not trying to find out if they do, while wearing a Twins uni.
  13. Just read that according to their GM, the fish plan to play Arraez at 2nd and move Jazz Chisholm to CF.
  14. Can't say I'm thrilled. I don't think I trust our FO when it comes to trading for pitchers. I hope it works out. Seems to me, we could've gotten more in return from them with adding some additional pieces. Maybe one of the other starters? Anyway, I'll miss Arraez, he was a lot of fun to watch. I wouldn't be surprised if 10 years down the road, he's got a handful of batting titles. I know that's not a particularly valued stat any more, but he's a very good hitter and the power numbers will get better too. Best of luck to him.
  15. I'll have to respectfully disagree. The perfect "puppet" manager would be more accurate.
  16. I guess we'll get to see if trading for him was a good move. I hope so. The 2nd TJ is a big concern, but there's a lot of potential there.
  17. Can't fault him at all for doing that. More power to him and hope it works out.
  18. Barring injuries, I can see this team winning the central. If the pitchers start going down with owies, then all bets are off. Hopefully, we make a few more deals. I'd love to see Pagan gone, and probably Kep too. Can't wait till the season starts!
  19. It's a nothing burger move. Why do it? C'mon, I'm sure that someone else has thought of making this guy a fastball/slider pitcher. Looks like a probable DFA down the road to me.
  20. We didn't "collapse" last season because of Correa. The injuries and the pitching, were the reason. Think of where we'd have been last year without CC.
  21. Very good player, no doubt. Not HOF though.
  22. I sure hope it all goes down as planned, but I'm not holding my breath after seeing what happened with SF and NY. If he does indeed sign...what ELSE are we going to do. We need more than CC staying to make this team competitive.
