  1. What’s the record for most consecutive questions posted in a game thread?
  2. Would it be more likely for Rosario to NOT be on the final ballot, and get named to the team when someone drops out?
  3. Isn’t this game 5 of the 11 game win streak?
  4. Looking at the futures rosters, three things stuck out to me: 1)Lewis Thorpe is only 22? 2)Not a lot of European or Asian prospects (any) 3)This is going to sound strange, but there is one American player listed at less than 190. There are 7 players on the International squad listed at 170 or below. And one kid is listed at 6’3”, 160lbs. Exactly how is that possible?
  5. I found 58 comments. It would appear TD has also given up on the season.
  6. I think we can all agree that Joe has Hall of Fame caliber sideburns.
  7. Well, we still can take 2 of 3, no?
  8. A comeback here would be inspiring.
  9. I hate to wade in here, but I’m going to. I’m not a doctor nor a psychologist, but reading into a player who says he “feels great” or “is in the best shape of his life” isn’t weird, or in need of more discussion than it has been given. Even if these kind of comments are demonstrably false. Players are inclined to look for the positive and hope they have turned a corner on any number of things. That sort of seems like human nature. That’s why the league has developed strict concussion protocols, frankly, to protect players (and managers) from themselves. I also don’t think it odd that there is no timetable for his current return, or that he will only commit to “another good day.” That seems very measured to me, and perhaps reflective of someone who has learned the hard way that you don’t just come back from concussions the way you do a broken bone. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. Joe hit 300 and played gold glove defense last year, proving he still has game left and perhaps was finally back to his preconcussion levels. It would be a shame if he is derailed again, but we simply don’t know what the situation is going to be for him going forward. Even if he says he “feels great”, unfortunately.
  10. I don’t care if I ever get back....or I don’t care if I never get back?
  11. Eh, they are ok. Whatever. No, really, Tom, exceptional work on the recaps. Thank you, and happy birthday! And by the way, CG OBVIOUSLY stands for “Capitals Goal”, which reminds me of who your Stanley Cup Champions are!
  12. The sky is falling. Fire everybody.
  13. Well, of they like Jeffers and think he won’t be available in the third, that would be one reason.
  14. Considering I’ve never heard of him, or any of the other picks....I’m a huge fan of this move.
  15. I am available! Actually, we live in DC and there is a chance that my son will be on the field for the Home Run Derby. He’s in the Nats “team finals” for the Pitch Hit and Run Competition. All 30 teams have finalists, and those finalists compete for “shag fly balls in the derby” time next week.
  16. Rosario for Home Run Derby would be fun. A tad bit of realism here...Rosario is seeing the ball really well right now. Confidence sky-high. He won’t hit homers every at bat for the rest of the season, though.
  17. I just want to know if Eddie’s eyebrow grows that way, or it’s a fashion statement?
  18. No ring. Joe played gold glove defense while batting over .300 last year. Obviously concerning that he got another concussion, but I think it is way too early to assume this is the end of Joe’s career.
  19. Here’s a weird thought. Could he be older than 34? If he is toast, it’s a little young for a superstar to completely fade. I’m guessing he would be worth signing, not because he is currently better than players on the roster (he is), but more that he will likely regress back towards his career numbers.
