  1. So, my 1994 “source” says “March 14 – Apple Computer, Inc. releases the first Macintosh computers to use the new PowerPC Microprocessors.” I abbreviated this, in my mind and in my post, to “Apple Computer, Inc releases the first Macintosh computers.” I suppose one COULD quibble with the results of my abbreviation.
  2. Back to our countdown. Mauer gets a pair of hits bringing his total to 1994. That year brought us the Gingrich wave election, the genocide in Rwanda, the Macintosh, the (10-year) Assault Weapons Ban, the deaths of Jackie O, Nixon, and Kurt Cobain, the election of Nelson Mandela, Schindler’s List, the Chunnel, the Lion King, and Justin Bieber. My apologies on the Bohemian Rhapsody snafu. I’m just a poor boy...will you let me go?
  3. Joe continues his hit parade with a hit on Thursday afternoon, his fifth consecutive game with at least one hit to start the season. His career total stands at 1992, which is the year that brought us the Rodney King trial, NAFTA, Silence of the Lambs, CDs overtaking audiocassettes, Bohemian Rhapsody, Somalia, Neymar, Bryce Harper, Nirvana, and the election of Bill Clinton.
  4. Up to 1991. Twins won the World Series that year, and Taylor turned two.
  5. Mauer racks up another hit, bringing him to 1990. That was the year of German reunification, Baltics declaring independence, the Human Genome Project, West Germany winning the World Cup, Nelson Mandela released from prisom, Driving Miss Daisy, the ADA and Taylor Swift turning 1.
  6. I may or may not have said to some folks standing in line to run the bases after the park “these kids are going to run the bases now since the Orioles weren’t allowed to earlier.”
  7. Can we please get a retroactive scoring ruling on that Sisco “double”?
  8. Kinda wish Rosario had caught that ball earlier.
  9. Little girl hit by foul ball update: appears to be fine.
  10. Gausman KOed after 4. Berrios winning this battle so far.
  11. Mauer didn’t get the “hit em where they ain’t” memo.
  12. SloMo chuuuuggging it over to first on that shift.
  13. I’m seeing people heading towards the exits.
  14. Hit ‘em where they ain’t. (Worked for Rosario too. And Dozier...and Buxton...)
  15. Berrios and Gausman were both drafted in 2012. Today is kind of an interesting challenge match. Much prefer Berrios to Gausman now and going forward. Here’s a little bit of trivia...whenever the first day of the month is on Sunday, we get a Friday the 13th later in the month. Will try to check in from the game, en route now.
  16. If Gibson record three more consecutive no-hit innings, he gets credit for the no-hitter, right?
