  1. I learned a lot reading how you score. Thanks!
  2. I’m surprised at how optimistic I am about the team despite the 4-6 start, the bullpen losing their only save opportunity, Kiriloff, Gray and Buxton out, and the hitting being anemic.
  3. Big fan of this change, can’t wait for them to start using it in the big leagues.
  4. No walks. And two DPs. And actually, according to the box score, he threw 75 pitches, 57 for strikes, a 76% strike rate. https://www.milb.com/gameday/hammerheads-vs-mighty-mussels/2022/04/15/670476#game_state=final,lock_state=final,game_tab=box,game=670476
  5. This game intro was extremely well done.
  6. It sounds like it is nothing, but they probably can’t run him back out there today to save face. This is great news. With 28 man rosters, I sure hope they don’t IL him.
  7. If four HS players get taken before the Twins, and they want to go college player, they essentially have the fourth pick. Now, what are the chances that either Lee or Parada fall to them? Maybe there is a late riser like Barriera sneaks up the list ahead of their pick.
  8. Could we have this exact same update every single day? Seriously, couldn’t ask for a better day on the farm. CES hot as the sun, SMR another strong start, Martin four steals, Lewis two hits, Rodriguez coming on strong. Throw in a Stankiewicz, Contreras and Isola, and you cannot not feel good about yesterday’s showing. CES deserves to get an asterisked honorable mention in the top prospects listings, at this point. That kid is on fire.
  9. Let’s say that it winds up being nothing. What kind of mental state is Buxton in that he is assuming on any slightly unusual play that he is completely out of commission and “it happened again”? That’s not a great place to be in, especially as one of the elite talents in all of the game.
  10. Also would still be that, if Garlick catches the fly ball to the wall in right, apparently.
  11. I think the verb you are looking for is “mincing”
  12. A handful of leaches, rub some dirt on it, and he should be good to go.
  13. So this is good - you’ve ruled out broken finger and pulled hammy.
  14. That sounds ominous. He didn’t even try to test it out?
  15. I hate to break it to you, but you might be in the wrong place.
  16. No, I said two Hail Marys and did a rain dance. What happened?
  17. I just logged into game day to see a runner on second…and an injury delay.
  18. Great piece and interesting discussion. Trying to piece a few clues together, it seems in the past when the PTBL is just a throw in, you hear the beat writers report that the player is nothing special. We’ve not heard that with this PTBL, so it should be something. Couple that with the Rosenthal comments of the value being “2 million plus”, and it’s definitely worth trying to parse out who it might be. Looking on the Baseball Trade Values site, here are some listed values: Susana RHP 2.9 (Keith Law: honorable mention) Gasser LHP 2.4 (Keith Law: #9) Acosta SS 2.4 (Law #11) Rosario 2B 2.4 (Law#15) Lizarraga RHP 1.9 (Law#14) Kopps RHP 1.9 (Law#19) Morejon is 6.6 and is listed on the Padres 40-man roster, so I don’t see how he could be the guy. Rosenthal also suggests they are selecting from a group of players. Now, maybe the Padres gave them six names to choose from, but isn’t it possible that Minnesota told SD to pick 12 guys that are off limits, and Minnesota could choose anyone from the rest of their system? One player not mentioned so far that might fit the bill: 24 year old “funky” LHP Ethan Elliott. He’s reached AA, and is listed in Law’s honorable mentions. He went to a small college in Tennessee, and in his college and early minors career, posted consistently good K/9 numbers, exceptional BB/9 numbers, and also has limited H/9 and HR/9. He had a 40FV on Fangraphs in 2021, and he’s listed on the Baseball Trade Values page as 2.1 in value. Seems to match up with a lot of the criteria. Probably would prefer Gasser or Susana, but Elliott looks intriguing.
  19. Yes, and he got good reviews behind the plate, almost picked off a runner at first, made a terrific play at the plate, and hit a grand slam.
  20. Spots 1-7 have all homered. Guess Sano and Kiriloff have to bomb their way out of the bottom of the lineup.
  21. I didn’t see a thread posted for this year, did I miss it? Buxton on pace for 162 homers. I prefer that to “Twins on pace to lose 108 1-run games, 54 of them with a blown save.” Of course, we could also go with: Twins on pace for 486 home runs this year.
  22. He’s now a free agent. How long until he is signed?
  23. Perhaps you were focused on the NL list only, where Finley does not appear even once.
