  1. What a cranky game thread. I'm on my way to the game. Hoping for minimal rain, and a Twins W. I've got a good track record of game attendance and Sano HRs
  2. Sequence of events: 1)Bid low on Park, don't expect to get him. But somehow get him. 2)Survey roster, notice that between Mauer/Plouffe/Park/Sano, there are now 4 players for three roster spots (1B/DH/3B) 3)Consider trading Plouffe briefly, but rule it out almost immediately (mainly because he is a good "Twinsy" guy) 4)Decide that Sano can play OF, even though he never has before, nor has anyone ever succeeded playing OF who is as big as Sano. 5)Plouffe gets injured, leaving 3 players for 3 spots. 6)Having dug in hard on "Sano can succeed in OF" stance, refuse to move him to 3B. Does that summarize things accurately?
  3. Today is the first road win of this young season. Can I get a "Huzzah!"?
  4. "David Murphy hit his first home runs since signing with the Twins." One wonders, exactly how many did he hit?
  5. I'd pick "strike trapezoid" a slight victor over "frequent friar miles" for the POTD.
  6. Excellent content, but the delivery was just a bit off.
  7. So, once Sano doesn't get any starts at 3B while Plouffe is out....it's just stubbornness, right? The Manager and/or Front Office just trying to prove that they are right in moving Sano to RF?
  8. Nunez is having a nice stretch. I think he should have scored on Mauer's single from second today, though.
  9. Ok, so let me ask the question again, after Meyer's first start in AAA...who has the greater chance of getting a start in the Twins' rotation this year, Meyer, or May?
  10. I'm still amazed that there was a purported 3-2 vote split on Meyer starting / relieving this year, with Molitor being one of the "bullpen" votes. If that vote had gone the other way and they had put him in the bullpen to start the season (**cough May**), the possibilities presented by the outing last night would have been completely missed, likely for months, if not all year. It was just one start, I get it. But the TD community had really written Meyer off after last year, which I thought was unjustified. Players have bad years. Hopefully Meyer will build on this start and get a chance to crack the Twins rotation this year.
  11. Who makes better contact, AB Walker or BH Park?
  12. I think the question really is: Braves vs Twins--who wins first?
  13. I live in DC and root for the home team, including Ramos and Ben Revere this year; Span before that. I have to say, with Ryan Zimmerman donating money towards my son's Little League for a new field, and the Nats donating jerseys for the league, it's pretty easy to be a Nats fan. When the Twins face off against the Nats in the World Series in 2017, though, it's an easy choice.
  14. Kudos to gmarais66 for nailing this. (And Ashbury John for pegging the under on April 20).
  15. To quote Chief in response to a Chief quote, I am shocked, SHOCKED, that there is cheating going on here.
  16. I've got one. Currently leading the league in WHIP: Nolasco, Ricky. Just ahead of Clayton Kershaw, 0.43 to 0.47. Now, that right there is some fun with numbers, ladies and gentlemen.
  17. When the Twins are 2-7, none of you can get back on.
  18. You've found the key, I think.
  19. I'll take 32 more starts like that one, Ricky. Preferably more.
  20. Some streaks are nastier than others.
  21. Give up all hope? I speculated on a 12-6 wrap-up to the end of April. That's pretty positive, ain't it?
  22. Twins are on pace for...trying to do the math...can't quite figure out....very complicated...oh yes....0 wins this year. However, if they go 12-6 over the next stretch, they could finish April at .500.
