  1. What happened to Brian Dozier? He was third in the AL with 89 walks in 2014, but had only 61 last year. I wonder if he'll make it a point of emphasis to improve on that next year.
  2. Really? I was hoping they would bring in a new staff after the clock management debacle. I suppose this means another year of Mitch Leidner at quarterback too. Yay.
  3. I wonder what Murphy's OPS would have been if he were lucky enough to play in Colorado.
  4. Twins had a lot of outfielders. Yankees had a lot of catchers. Hicks has more upside probably, but I don't think it's that far off.
  5. I don't think those names help your case much. If Nick Hundley is listed as one of the top players, you know the position is weak.
  6. Rosario, Buxton, Arcia is my hope.
  7. Settling for mediocrity would be going into next year with Suzuki and Hermann. Hicks could be good, but so could five other outfielders in the organization. If that's all they could get for him, then I guess I'm okay with upgrading the catcher situation the way they did.
  8. He is replaceable though. The Twins had no one to catch.
  9. Haha good point. I guess the Twins need to get some trees. My point is still somewhat valid...
  10. Like many others, I'm meh on the trade because I really liked Aaron Hicks, but lets remember three things: 1. league average catchers don't grow on trees 2. Aaron Hicks probably doesn't profile well in the corners 3. This doesn't mean Shane Robinson will be your opening day center fielder and that the Twins suddenly lost their immense outfield depth.
  11. If I knew Berrios was a 2/3, then you would have to do it. Schwarber's per 162 numbers last year would have totaled 38 HR and an .842 OPS.
  12. Oh, I missed that. So even if he's an average defensive catcher, I still wouldn't want to give up a potential ace to get him.
  13. They can spend $60M on a guy like Matt Weiters ore make a trade for a guy like Lucroy without giving up a top 15 overall prospect. They aren't going to spend $150M on an ace or give up top prosepects to trade for one. Is Kyle Schwarber even a catcher long term?
  14. I would be very interested in Hicks for Paxton. I'm guessing the Mariners are shooting higher than that though.
  15. The Twins can sign a guy with Scwarbers value(when you factor in the bad defense). They are extremely unlikely to get many chances at guys with ace potential. This trade would be too risky, but I'll admit it made me think about it for a second.
  16. Bjelica definitely looks like a player. He made some clutch shots late last night. Starting PF next year if he keeps playing like this and even gets better.
  17. The only hole in Rosario's game is his plate discipline. He's average or better in every other aspect. BTW Revere is still a valuable player even with his limitations.
  18. I like the drafting of these high school guys who have high ceilings. Good luck to Kolton.
  19. I think Hicks and the Twins would benefit from another year of him showing improvement before thinking about a trade. And, like many others, I like the idea of seeing an extremely athletic outfield help out a pitch to contact staff.
  20. I don't think the Twins have any of those.
  21. A Luol Deng type of free agent signing next offseason and this team is really going to be ready to compete.
  22. I think Hicks is out of options, but I get what you're saying.
  23. Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel are worth nowhere near the same value of any of the Mets top four pitchers. That was a ridiculous trade by the A's.
  24. Great interview, Arndro and Seth. I really enjoyed reading his thoughtful answers, and I'll be paying more attention to his season next year. It should be interesting to see how he does in a full season in Cedar Rapids or Ft. Myers.
  25. Tayshaun Prince needs to not play. Ever.
