  1. On the bright side, Romero looked pretty good. Who knows how the game would have ended up had that ridiculously unlucky 4th inning happened differently.
  2. You're right, it wouldn't be close. In the second half last year, the Twins team OPS was .803, the exact number that the Yankees are putting up this year. That was fun.
  3. How about Max Kepler too? Is he ever going to break out, or is he just going to continue hanging around league average hitting? Kepler isn't on the same level of disappointment as Sano and Buxton, but I expected more from him.
  4. This series was like watching games from previous decades, you know, where you actually want to run the starter's pitch count up and get into the bullpen.
  5. The offense has been great for about a week, but that doesn't quite make up for about 80% of the lineup not showing up for a month. This is the offense I was expecting to see, which made that bad stretch so difficult to watch.
  6. Eddie is so fun to watch. Hopefully this is just a rough stretch for Addison Reed. I'd like to see Hildenberger be the set-up guy until he gets straightened out.
  7. I have to imagine the winning percentage for a team that walks the first batter of the game on 4 pitches is close to .000. Way to set the tone, Fernando. You were one of the last reasons I still wanted to watch this sorry team. This is why we can't have nice things.
  8. That would be nice. Brian has hit .200 with RISP and .197 with a runner on base. Not that he's had many guys on base for him to drive in, but this team is just awful at stringing hits together in general.
  9. The last time the Twins had more than 1 HR in a game was that comeback 5-4 win against the Angels, 13 games ago. The lineup is so obviously in need of a jolt, I just can't understand why Nick Gordon hasn't been called up.
  10. So Nick Gordon only "might" be better than Ehire Adrianza right now? That's sad to think about. If you meant Gordon only might be a better option than Eduardo Escobar at SS, then I would agree with that.
  11. If Buxton were to go down, I would rather go with Kepler in CF and then Wade in RF. I would think there's no way the Twins would go with Lamarre as their everyday CF.
  12. It's not just this one game though. That's why we're so annoyed. The Twins are 28th in runs scored and 20th in OPS this year. Compare that to 7th and 9th last year, and they were supposed to get better, but the two most pivotal young players are hitting around .200 or worse.
  13. The Mariners were 2 for 3 with RISP with two well placed ground balls. That's frustrating, but at least Romero looked great again. The Twins were 0 for 0 with RISP. I hate this lineup so much right now.
  14. I think walking nearly a batter an inning this year has more to do with it than this luck I keep hearing about.
  15. Not bad. .500/.429/1.500 (1.929) with RISP for Wilson.
  16. All 4 runs produced by Jake Cave and Bobby Wilson. That is just sad. I hate this offense so much right now. And when was the last time you saw someone actually get picked off at 2nd base?
  17. If you can contend for a Division title, you can contend for the World Series title. This is baseball.
  18. Logan Morrison not sliding into 2nd base on Buxton's would-be-hit was a huge mistake. Little things like that can turn games.
  19. I'm all for the Nick Gordon plan. The lineup needs a spark.
  20. I actually thought Romero had great control. He was missing by inches and wasn't getting any leeway calls from the umpire. He is a beast.
  21. I feel like the game turned on that Grossman pop up with a runner on third and one out.RISP situations have been horrible for the Twins.
  22. Hildenberger finally got his sinker sinking last night. That could be a huge help to the bullpen.
