    Congratulations to Jose Berrios! Rosario got snubbed, at least a little. He's got better numbers than Michael Brantley, but that's what happens when you're on a losing team.

    I have yet to understand the Kennys Vargas love. He has a .677 OPS at AAA this year. He is simply not very good.

    Probably, but the Celtics roster is pretty ridiculous too. It will be weird not having Lebron in the East though for sure.

    Tyler Chatwood has a BB/9 of 8.3 in 68 innings this year. That is ridiculous. I'm surprised Grossman isn't starting in RF this afternoon.

    Did anyone find it weird that Dick asked if Colon is a Hall of Famer? It must just be him being fat and having a cool nickname that makes people forget about the PEDs. I understand forgiveness and still rooting for a guy that did that in the past, but that should be automatic disqualification from the HOF.

    I'm all for banning the shift. Not only would there be more offense, but this would make middle infield defense more important at the same time.

    Slightly better than yesterday. When Ehire Adrianza is batting 5th in your lineup, you know something has gone horribly, horribly wrong.

    In his first two FSL games, Kirilloff is hitting .417 with 6 RBIs. That sounds about right. Overall numbers: .337/.392/.610 (1.002) with 14 HR and 61 RBI. If he keeps this up, he could be unanimously making top 50 prospect lists this offseason.

    Yovanni Gallardo hasn't had a season ERA below 5 since 2015, so I like the Twins chances to score... maybe we'll see 3 runs today. Also, how do guys like Gallardo still have MLB jobs? Do the Rangers not have a minor league pitcher who can put up a 5 ERA, while also saving the team around $1M?

    On the bright side, Romero looked pretty good. Who knows how the game would have ended up had that ridiculously unlucky 4th inning happened differently.

    I liked the picks. I was hoping for Khyri Thomas in the 1st round, but Okogie seems like a good pick too. These two should also be more ready to contribute right away with them being older guys.

    Or how about the players that are supposed to be good, be good.

    You're right, it wouldn't be close. In the second half last year, the Twins team OPS was .803, the exact number that the Yankees are putting up this year. That was fun.

    How about Max Kepler too? Is he ever going to break out, or is he just going to continue hanging around league average hitting? Kepler isn't on the same level of disappointment as Sano and Buxton, but I expected more from him.

    This series was like watching games from previous decades, you know, where you actually want to run the starter's pitch count up and get into the bullpen.

    The offense has been great for about a week, but that doesn't quite make up for about 80% of the lineup not showing up for a month. This is the offense I was expecting to see, which made that bad stretch so difficult to watch.

    Eddie is so fun to watch. Hopefully this is just a rough stretch for Addison Reed. I'd like to see Hildenberger be the set-up guy until he gets straightened out.

    I have to imagine the winning percentage for a team that walks the first batter of the game on 4 pitches is close to .000. Way to set the tone, Fernando. You were one of the last reasons I still wanted to watch this sorry team. This is why we can't have nice things.

    The article on MLBTR said about half of the $13.2M will be paid by the Padres for the final year of the deal. It's too bad they have to give up the pick, but hopefully that money will be spent elsewhere next year.

    So the Twins traded away pick #74 for about $6M or $7M dollars if I'm reading the trade correctly.

    That would be nice. Brian has hit .200 with RISP and .197 with a runner on base. Not that he's had many guys on base for him to drive in, but this team is just awful at stringing hits together in general.

    The last time the Twins had more than 1 HR in a game was that comeback 5-4 win against the Angels, 13 games ago. The lineup is so obviously in need of a jolt, I just can't understand why Nick Gordon hasn't been called up.
