I think us Twins fans may devalue the closer role because every pitcher the Twins have thrown into that role have done very well. Perkins, Jepsen for that year, Kintzler, and Belisle. Just throw someone in the 9th and they'll put up a solid line.
Tyler Wells has become one of my favorite prospects after that interview. He seems to have a great mindset, and the comment on Royce Lewis is great to hear too.
That is an awful return for the Pirates. How is Colin Moran is the headliner for Gerrit Cole? Imagine how much worse this trade would look last offseason with those prospect hauls the White Sox got.
This seems like a very good signing, as Reed is right in his prime years. A Hildenberger, Reed, Rodney back of the bullpen is something I have confidence in.
The Wolves are on fire and Jimmy Butler is playing like an MVP (non-LeBron James division). This type of play over the past month is what I was hoping for, and I'm looking forward to where they can go from here.
The Timberwolves were outscored 27 to 12 in the 4th quarter in tonight's game against the Bucks. That was just awful offense late in the game, so many heaves at the end of the shot clock.
Jimmy Butler with an amazing effort to will the Wolves to a win, 39 points. Taj Gibson was great again too. A very fun game to watch, besides all of the questionable foul calls late.
People were considering Florida a legit Final Four contender a couple of weeks ago, then they lost 3 straight, including one at home to Loyola Chicago. Duke just lost to Boston College. It happens. The Gophers will be fine.
With KAT showing no interest in becoming a good defender at the 5, I'm starting to question if you can win with him there instead of at the PF. I always thought that he would be a fine defender, but it's past time where he should have shown that.
The Twins have a nice balance of high contact guys to go with the power in their lineup. Granite, Mauer, and Polanco are extremely good at making contact, and I think Kepler could get in that category too.
