  1. Wow, don't get the Vielma comments. Guy doesn't have power, but he has speed and appears to be able to get on base. .266-.270 is a decent BA. He's been a year and a half younger than league average the last two years and held his own. If the defense is as adversised, he'd be an ideal 9 hitter who could get the ball rolling for the top of the order. BTW, the only Miracle regular who had a higher batting average than Vielma was Alex Swim. And Vielma was their youngest hitter. Looks like some good potential to me.
  2. AB Walker - my theory. He is gonna be good. He's been on a continuous learning curve. He's never repeated a level, yet he seems to end up at the top of the old fashioned HR and RBI tables at every stop. Once he has seen it all, and has made his adjustments, he'll probably still K a lot, but I think the good will outweigh the bad: dat power.
  3. I feel he is getting sold short here - the guy has gone out and dominated guys years older than him at every level, and stands at the threshold of the majors at the ripe old age of 21, same as a college junior draftee. Trading him at this point would be madness. I know people are concerned about his size, but the Royals have a lot of guys 6' or less that are pitching quite effectively: Volquez, Ventura, Cueto, Herrera.
  4. Landa and Jorge are my 2 dark-horse candidates to fly up the charts in 2016
  5. Considering there are still 30 prospects to go, this is a pretty impressive group 31-50. Several guys with a legit shot someday.
  6. Wade looks like the most likely to rise on this list to me. Thanks Seth, good read.
  7. Depth - we ain't flunking around any more!
  8. What a luxury to have Milone as a depth starter. 9-5, 4.04 ERA. This would be ace material the last few years!
  9. What a nice, basic win - pitching, timely power, damn. Well done Twins! .500 we be there!
  10. Oh my Eddie - throws, triples; what a special player this kid will be.
  11. Oh wait, this is Detroit? I thought we were playing the White Sox...
  12. I am gonna miss Pelf - when he's good, he is so much fun to watch. If baseball were a 3-5 inning game, he'd be a superstar.
  13. Great camera angle on that Hicks catch - it was like being at the game. Good catch too.
  14. Nice write-up: appreciate it. While not signing Cody was a bummer, it will help add depth to next year's draft with a 2nd and the 74th.
  15. Very sweet line for Santana, with a little help from Perkins: 7 IP, 5H, 1 BB, 7K. He's been money for what it is worth.
  16. The future keeps getting brighter, and closer too. I feel like Wile E. Coyote at the entrance to a railroad tunnel.
  17. Dougie Baseball delivers 2 championships in 2 levels in 2 seasons. He might be kinda good....
  18. I did love the quick thrill of win division, win lcs, off to world series. However, It does make sense to expand the playoffs when you grow the league. 30 teams fighting for 4 playoff spots would lead to lots of empty stadiums in August/September.
  19. You got me - thought it was going to be a Vargas article. I could very well see Oswaldo have a successful career; would hate to see him do it elsewhere. OF is pretty crowded suddenly. Where are Mastro and Schaeffer when you need them....
  20. TR looks good tonight - good games from Santana, Hunter, Jepsen.
  21. Funny thing about Pelf: his ERa is still quite a bit less than Hughes, Santana, or Nolasco. Granted, he has sucked of late, but he did contribute earlier in the season. Another case of "what have you done for me lately"? I do think he is a beloved teammate with a sense of humor, for what it's worth. Don't know the advanced stat for that....
