    My issue with the trade is that Roden is seemingly being treated like a throw-in and Rojas seems to be the key to the trade - but trading 5 years of control of a good reliever for a single pitching prospect, a notoriously risky asset, is not good business. Yes, we didn't foresee Varland becoming an elite closer, but putting all of Varland's trade value into Rojas instead of more prospects wasn't a good call. They easily could have waited until 2026/27 to trade him. Roden has had troubles staying healthy, but he's been good to go for a few weeks now and is raking in AAA. I don't know if he will be a useful major league player, but what's the point in postponing finding out what they have in him? He's had something like 600 PAs in AAA with very few struggles mixed in there, now is the time to play him. Frankly, they should trade him for what they can get because what's the point of holding on to him? If Jenkins and Rodriguez and others like Mendez are going to get chances over him, why not cash him in at the trade deadline for something they might use?

    Gray has only had 120 PAs coming into this season, so I find it funny that they'll trust the 30 year old career minor leaguer to be their starting SS but won't give a shot to their AAA prospects with nothing left to prove and need to start gaining MLB experience. Ugh.

    He's out for the year as he had an internal brace surgery - hence why you haven't seen people complaining about DFA'ing him since last year. He was on fire the last two months of 2025, he has stretches of not being able to throw strikes followed by dominance.

    Who has been pitching great this year, another guy we probably shouldn't have DFA'd. Kinda like Ronny Henriquez.

    I didn't mean Ross was next up ahead of Culpepper, I just meant next up after that. He'd be more in Fedko territory if he ever got called up, Shelton probably wouldn't use him much.

    For whatever reason they seem to think he's their best fielding SS when Kreidler is inexplicably playing in the OF. I think I'd take Arcia over him, but for whatever reason they don't trust him there. And they won't be calling Culpepper up for a while... Ben Ross is the next man up. Insane how AAA is overstuffed with OF prospects, and yet the likes of Kreidler, Keaschall, and Clemens (who is at least hitting well enough to justify it) have had stretches of being starting OFs. Really strange roster construction.

    Even DeBarge's best hitting season in the minors wasn't that good, they have been aggressive promoting him but what upside does a guy with a career .680 OPS in the minors have? At some point you have to remove the bias of being a 1st round pick and evaluate the player for who he is.

    I opened Twitter a few minutes ago and everybody I follow (mostly football people) are complaining about the red flag. I have no idea if it was that bad of a call...

    To me, Zoll has felt like a rerun of Falvey. Still a very small sample size, I don't see any difference between Zoll holding onto the likes of Outman, Garcia, and Lawrence compared to other Falvey duds of the past. I'm no Falvey supporter, but even he wasn't holding onto a 10+ ERA ancient reliever for more than 9 appearances. Shelton has certainly been an upgrade from Rocco, but you could tell me Falvey was still in charge and I'd believe you.

    Yeah, it's good to move to player to a better spot when possible, but evidently their initial plan was poorly conceived. At the very least it should have been obvious that Lee couldn't handle SS and inexplicably Gray was his backup. They did flirt with playing Keaschall in LF, I get sticking with him to see if he got better at 2B. Too bad he didn't.

    Right, too bad they've moved every Opening Day infielder off their initial positions.

    Doesn't seem like there's much faith in Fedko. They don't seem him as a prospect so they feel there is no need to give him regular at bats, so he's just sitting in Outman's role, hiding on the bench. Bummer to hear that about Banda, might be a season-ender. Time to convert Klein into a one-inning reliever and hope Culpepper is ready for the call. They could do something really fun and call up both Culpeppers on the same day.

    The Twins seem to be taking the AAA hitting stats with a boulder of salt. I get why, but at some point how does a player force their way up? Would Sabato get any more chance than Fedko, who is barely playing? Methinks Sabato is gonna strike out a lot, and unlike a lot of other power-first prospects we've seen in this organization, he is not going to get much runway to adjust to major league pitching.

    Feels like borderline witchcraft how they are getting the hitting out of the likes of Kreidler and Jackson. Our hitting coach deserves a pay raise (or whatever kind of incentive they can give him to not leave the organization).

    Trading Larnach should rely on whether they will buy his final season of arbitration, if that's going to be too expensive for them then it's better to trade him at the deadline than let him hit the open market and get nothing for him.

    Larnach has been great no doubt, but if these prospects never get called up they can never prove anything at the major league level. If the organization does not believe in them, they need to trade several of these guys. There's no point to holding onto these prospects if they're not going to use them, may as well cash them in for something. Heck, I wouldn't complain if Rodriguez/Roden/Gonzalez/Mendez got flipped (as part of a package) for a major league player who can help in 2027/2028. That would be better than the alternative of watching said OF prospect continue to sit in AAA for 2026 and 2027 not helping the major league team.

    Even with the bullpen being as weak as it is, the issue is compounded seeing Morris and Gomez throw only 6 combined pitches the past two days. It's going to stink when you don't use your few best options.

    Raya definitely has more upside... but they need to decide on Klein being a one inning reliever rather than the nonsense multi-inning piggyback starter.

    Yeah... not shocked that this is what we get from a guy with a ERA north of 5.60 in 140 career innings at AAA. Yes, he got hot lately, but over the aggregate he was quite bad.
