  1. Bob, no more photo's of footballs please. Tommy asked not to post them.
  2. Ok, battery went dead, at Barnes and Noble and found an outlet. Nocryinginbaseball and Bob Sacamento were there also today, and Bob found on twitter about Parks wrist strain. Not much went on today, some throwing and pitchers drills for rehabbing guys. Gibson. Shag-whaa, Randy Roserio and Melotokis threw off the mound in the pen. So far, no hitting on the fields, but they do hit in the cages and today Phil Roof threw to them on there. Arcia took fly balls in the outfield. No sign of Sano today, or AB Walker who I have seen for 3 days. Pitchers here are Perkins, Hughes, Fien and Gibson, who has done two pens in 3 days now.
  3. Good idea, Seth, a current thread. Chilly, windy morning today. Not many of us out there, but did see a funny thing happen. A couple of the professional auto hounds were spying for Park. Finally they did get him walking to the stadium from the minor league end with Perry C. He signed for them, but a couple is never enough for these types, so they hung out another hour or so and when he did come out to his car, they descended on him again. Only thing was - his right hand was in a bag of ice. He strained his wrist swinging in the cages.
  4. I think it's they are to stubborn to take what they feel is below market value for so @ so. Sano is better right now than our current 3rd sacker was when he started. And our current is one step and done. I just don't get it. Our outfield is going to be a huge mess.
  5. I don't know how many pounds Sano lost, but he looks in good condition to me.
  6. Loosey, I'd say you are going at the perfect time! I'd say there'll be at least 40 players with the minors and not many fans. Most all the players are happy to converse with fans and take pictures, so bring a camera. And there won't be that many fans, which will triple at least a week later.. Today there were 5 of us. Gibson, Fien and Arcia were back from the Fest. Oswaldo was more than happy to sign for a couple guys with cards and then looked at me and a buddy but we didn't have anything. He said it was cold in Minnesota. If you need help, just ask for DJ and someone will point me out. You'll have a blast.
  7. Joe Benson lives on the beach and said yesterday it's not bad leaving early in the morning. I hear it's about an hour and a half getting back unless you wait later in the day.
  8. I'll probably be there every day. Big changes for me down here, I'm renting a room in a house this year, (off Craig's List), and it's very boring so I'll spend a lot of time at the fields. They look great now with all the rain here.
  9. I agree with Nick on Gladden, someday. Torii a no brainer.
  10. I'm here now. Players all at Twins Fest but for some rehabbing minor leaguers, like Thorpe.
  11. Saw Arcia today and did a double take. He looks stronger than ever. Not that he needed any more strength. He did come out with a trainer who had a tennis racket, and balls. He'd hit the balls in the air and Arcia would try to catch them. Good drill for Arcia, as his first step is really slow.
  12. They are in Duluth right now and were just shown on the news. The sportscaster interviewed Buxton.
  13. They'll be stopping in Duluth, but I'll be on my way to FT Myers!
  14. What a great article! And another testament that you just don't give up in life. I remember one year in spring training, on the field next to the weight room, Torii, Ortiz and some others were down the right field line in the outfield while others were taking bp. Fooling around they were hitting golf balls with the bats, seeing how far they would go. When it was David's turn they switched in an exploding ball. When he hit it, you could hear the screams and laughter and David was a couple feet off the ground. They got him good that time!
  15. Mauer's got a chance. Sano probably the next to go in as a Twin though.
  16. With that projection, the division once again goes down to the last week. Not surprising, but I see the fight to be between the Indians, Royals and Pale hose, with the Twins finishing with stated record. Wins in the division are going to be extra credit this season.
  17. I'll grant you Sano has All Star potential, but he can't show that til he gets planted at 3rd base. The other guy will go as soon as some other team has a need, but for now no other team has any interest. So, yes, 3rd base is a need.
  18. I'd give Kepler an even chance to start in center along with Buxton.
  19. Last year the minor league players reported on the 10th, started playing each other on the 15th, and started playing other organizations on the 18th.
  20. Didn't read the article, but Sano broke out last year. Should be big things coming from him this season if they don't mess around with him to much.
  21. I'm with Dantes929 on Duffey. I'm not giddy about anything, but most optimistic with Duffey. We may have caught lightning in a bottle here. Park - mehhhhh. Just a very mild interest. Buxton - I have doubts about him. Sano - Really looking forward to a full year out of him. But can't make any sense why he's not playing third. Kepler - I'm really happy for Max that he's caught on to the game, and hope he gets at least a half year in the bigs and succeeds.
  22. Terry Ryan mentioned this morning there are 8 outfielders out there that are available and he is looking. Asked about Span and he mentioned his health problems they are looking into.
  23. A friend of mine that has gone down the last 3 years, who has gotten season tickets the last two, bought them on stubhub 3 years ago and paid around $6 a game. A lot cheaper that way.
