  1. You are correct sir. The correct odds may be 27% 😀. I do like the 54/54/54 analogy - as Herbie famously said “now let’s go out there and take it”.
  2. It’s going to be really interesting to watch this unfold. There are signs of regression already but it will be neat to see an abstract concept play out in real life. Royce bailed them out last night so who knows.
  3. According to Zoll the answer is yes so here we go. I will be interested to watch it unfold as there are many different versions of buying. My fervent wish is that no prospect with potential is given up for a rental. If the trade solves a problem for multiple years that’s ok. This is not the path I would have chosen but I’ve posted my feelings on this numerous times so now I will sit back and hope for some shrewd additions.
  4. I don’t view this as one of Tajs better games as he struggled with his command but the strikeouts are always there. In a weird way it’s a compliment to him that he still had a pretty dominant start without having his best command. Happy for Royce - really good to see that hit go to right. He is getting worked hard away and has been better at laying off that stuff. A few doubles to right / center and he might start seeing some pitches on the inner half. The Twins really struggle with the double steal with a man on third. I don’t understand why they even tried to throw through there as Kriedler was playing back and never got in front of the bag which is the fundamental there. Of course both throws were terrible but I’m not sure two good throws gets him. That was a huge run they gave up trying a play they rarely execute properly.
  5. It was one of those mighty swing turned into a lob wedge type of hits. The ball was in the air a really long time. It’s a great example of the kind of play that doesn’t show in the box score. On a good defensive club that ball would have been caught. Royces hit was off the wall above where it could be caught.
  6. It seems like our attention is laser focused on the 30% and doesn’t even compute the 70%.
  7. I agree with this. I think analytics has reduced the amount of human bias that goes into evaluating players / trades. So perhaps they are more “accurate” now.
  8. Thanks for these articles. I appreciate the projected costs as it makes for a more realistic conversation (most of the time). I don’t want Walker as I would rather sink or swim with Royce (and I’m pretty lukewarm on Royce). The others are well presented because I’m not sure if I like the prospect cost which means they are probably accurate.
  9. Me too. Would Jeffers and G Gonzalez be too much? I don’t value him as highly as most people.
  10. Very fun to watch Prielipp pitch so well. Pitchers that utilize multiple pitches effectively are fun to watch as it becomes a chess game of what pitch is coming next. It seems like improving his change up could make him elite.
  11. It sure did but when you post a piece like that you’re pretty much begging for a shotshow. What a waste of time and digital ink.
  12. Yep. Regression is not gonna be your friend. I also would like a lineup that can pick up a batted ball. Put it to you this way - do you think this lineup will compete for championships?
  13. I think the Twins have no shot at the wildcard. Too many teams to beat out if they make the playoffs it will be from winning the division. And yes, their chances are slim and none.
  14. Thanks for telling me how to be a fan. Reminds me of the old Jack Welsh quote “if I want your opinion, I’ll give it to you”
  15. You mean there is risk in hanging on to Joe when we are not going anywhere? If this is in fact true I want to go back and fire Falvey all over again.
  16. This. You’ve nailed it once again. Get the highest ceiling guys you can get regardless of position and we can sort out the excess later if need be. If EmRod is great but doesn’t have anywhere to play he can be traded for additional value. Teams that are threats to win championships have several elite players, not a collection of mediocre bats that can’t play defense.
  17. I appreciate the specifics of this article. I like the Seattle package the best but would do any except San Diego. My only quibble is that I don’t care if the Twins rally before deadline, Ryan should be traded.
  18. The best thing that happened was that Buck didn’t get his knees destroyed making that catch as Martin almost submarined him. Keaschall and Lewis seem to be frequently off balance at the plate. About half the time when they swing they end up falling over the plate almost to the left hand batters box. That much movement perpendicular to the ball can’t be good.
