  1. If we are talking Falvey I judge him by his entire body of work, not just one trade. Falvey did some good things and some bad things. Overall he was mediocre pretty much like his teams. Taj does provide a new, positive story line to follow which is great. He’s must see TV right now.
  2. Ober did his job. I thought speed was a big factor early in the game with Buck and Keaschall setting the tone - they don’t win that game without it. The bullpen got the job done somehow - Bandas line isn’t great but he had several balls on the ground that found holes. Man Fundy has some games ( a lot of games) where he has no idea where his pitches are going. One thing that is a constant - sloppy baseball. A couple errors in the infield and brain farts from Martin and Wallner. They showed Shelton in the dugout explaining to Wallner about putting your hands up on the dead ball. Mind boggling to me that he he is in the big leagues and doesn’t know the rule.
  3. I noticed this as well. Royce is pretty exuberant when he gets a hit which is fine I guess. Reminds me of Bud Grants rule against celebrating touchdowns “I want them to act like they’ve done it before”.
  4. Jeffers is fighting it back there tonight.
  5. If Jeffers is in a traditional crouch he smothers that ball no problem.
  6. I enjoy Keaschall with the bat more than the glove.
  7. Another bonehead play by a Twins player. You always take the dead ball there.
  8. JFC just make a proper throw, you got all day.
  9. It’s almost as if you have athletic players with a little speed you can make plays in baseball
  10. Not doubting you but that seems impossible.
  11. It’s pretty much Martin and Wallner that botch the challenges, correct?
  12. Unless you are getting some free agent years I don’t think these deals are right for the Twins. The cost certainty is nice but IMO not worth the risk the player gets hurt or doesn’t perform. If these deals go bad it hurts the Twins relatively more because of the tighter payroll.
  13. Interesting point.
  14. The stuff has been there, it’s always been about the control. There has been a marked change in that area and if it continues the Twins have a gold mine. I’m sure Jax will bounce back but if they are both performing at a high level you take Bradley every time. As others have noted Odorizzi was a good deal as well. The Delmon deal was Bill Smith so Falvey doesn’t own that one.
  15. Let’s hope Taj is dealing because we’ll….ya know.
  16. I would also like Mendez and K Rosario to start playing first.
  17. I’m excited we have legitimate prospects at AAA. I will be really excited if they perform in the big leagues. It’s a big jump and not all of these guys will make it but there is only one way to find out so let’s go.
  18. The interesting thing is these same players that are deficient defensively are not very good offensively either. A lot of this is the result of Falveys drafting strategy early in his tenure. They seemed to seek out the best bat they could find without regard for defense or speed. Now when you look at our lineup there are just a lot of slow, poor defenders who never developed into difference makings bats either.
  19. Why not? They’ve had a hole at first base for a long time without any creative solutions.
  20. The weird roster construction has been discussed a lot. One specific aspect that drives me nuts is the Kody Clemens usage. The guy is a fringe player at best and yet the Twins seem to view him as some staple in their lineup plan. The Twins have golden opportunities to revamp the lineup at first base, DH and left field and have done nothing. I really wish I knew how much influence Zoll had in this past offseason. If he was on board with this then I want him gone as much as Falvey
