  1. Thanks for that. When I read it I could picture it in my mind. He’s kind of got the quiet approach at the plate that Harmon had too. He squared up two as well as you can.
  2. Honestly I was surprised that the Athletic dedicated two writers to the Twins from the get go. It’s a dramatically changing landscape so I’m glad I don’t have to figure it out. Gleeman is in kind of a unique situation with the equity he has built in this market. I do feel “specialty” coverage of a given team has its place for hard core fans but there will definitely be a ceiling
  3. For me it’s all about what is best for the development of the player. Presumably MLB teams have people that can recognize when a prospect is ready. I don’t care what the Twins record is or who is playing SS currently. When it is deemed that KC is ready bring him up. If he is not let him continue to develop in St Paul. I appreciate the in depth nature of this article. I wish a little more of it was dedicated to his fielding.
  4. I think you are correct about the trades indicating a lack of confidence in Matthew’s, Festa etc. And they have been proven correct so far. Regarding trading the expiring contract players we win those trades automatically because we weren’t bringing them back and their contributions for the rest of 2025 were not needed because the Twins weren’t winning. Seems like this is the kind of trade Falvey had success with.
  5. I would like to point out that errors are not even a statistic with any meaning. That Rojas didn’t get an error on the swinging bunt play is embarrassing to the game.
  6. Rojas has huge upside if he can gain some command. Not surprised that Fundy got sent down. The guy has no control - you can’t have bullpen guys walking a guy an inning (his whip is sky high). Do not understand the love he gets.
  7. Bittersweet for me. I’m happy for Larnach. Small sample but it looks like he is rejuvenating his career. He is better in the field and hitting much better. All of this improvement at age 29 is unexpected. That’s kind of the problem too. A club can’t wait on guys for 3-4 years to figure things out which is kind of what the Twins do. They’ve had way too many of these guys hanging around. Are we going to wait until Royce is 29 to make a decision?
  8. Unbelievable. It’s almost like the human body wasn’t meant to throw 98 mph.
  9. And Taj to the IL and Adam’s recalled. That will solve our bullpen problems 😀
  10. My question is while “leaning in” did the Twins fall over?
  11. I think the final tally is quite accurate. Good work folks.
  12. I wasn’t a fan if the signing because I just didn’t think it was wise to use up that much payroll (Twins payroll) on a single player. Turns out I was right on that one. Part of the reason I didn’t want to sign him was I thought Royce could be the SS of the future. Boy was I wrong on that one. I did enjoy watching Correa particularly in the field. Correa throwing and Buck running were reasons enough to tune in.
  13. Way too early to tell. He is in the right place at the right time. And I agree with the others - if he pitches well he will be moved to a set up role quickly. The competition isn’t real stiff.
  14. Maybe more importantly I can’t recall any / many sends where the runner was DOA. He’s done a good job.
  15. I wish all up and coming power hitters would watch video of Harmon (yes I’m old). He obviously had tremendous power but had a concise, no nonsense swing that gave him a great chance to barrel the ball. I can remember him in a relaxed athletic stance with his bat on his shoulder while the pitcher got the sign. He simply lifted the bat when he was ready and pulled the trigger. No ridiculously high hands or big leg kick. Balanced stride and boom.
  16. I’ve got a wild and crazy theory: Royce isn’t talented enough to be a big leaguer. Injuries have not helped him for sure but he has logged enough healthy time that he should be showing something. I also don’t buy blaming it on the Twins: he’s had a bunch of different coaches over his career. Is it more plausible that every single coach was clueless or that Royce isn’t good enough? If you honestly assess him he is a one tool player: power. He doesn’t make contact well, his swing decisions are poor, his arm is average strength and erratic and his glove is inconsistent. His speed has returned some but he’s not a burner. As a third baseman his ceiling is average hitter and average fielder. That’s the ceiling - we probably will see something else. And I’m not judging his attitude like some do - I don’t know the guy so I just stick to his on field play.
  17. How do you know?😀. He battled in all his plate appearances and did not help the pitcher out.
  18. Taj was effectively wild. More than a few times errant 97mph fastballs had hitters dancing out of the way. He threw just enough strikes to get the job done. Keaschalls abs look much better as he isn’t chasing at all, neither is Martin.
  19. How come every time our reliever gets three outs I feel like we walked away from a plane crash?
  20. I like how Taj saves his curveball for strikeout situations. He doesn’t throw that many but they are effective.
  21. Curious if Bell had the green light. If yes he didn’t offer at the best pitch he could expect.
