  1. Thanks! I didn't see that second page on the program.
  2. Does anyone know where to find the radio schedule for Twinsfest? They used to post the interview schedule on the Twins website but I couldn't find it. By the way, why is the broadcast on 1500ESPN and not KTWIN? Why does KTWIN even exist if they're not going to feature Twins programming? I live on the east coast and can't attend Twinsfest, but I shouldn't have to hunt around to try and find the broadcast.
  3. Does anyone have any info. on the corresponding move to the 25-man roster? According to the Red Wings website Alex Meyer is still scheduled to start tonight.
  4. No doubt rebuilding takes time and requires patience, but it's frustrating to watch the Twins cut ties with players and then watch them go be successful someplace else. This tells me there is some serious problems within the organization. Also, it's no secret that starting pitching has been the biggest weakness for the last several years. I give credit to Ryan for at least trying to address it, but he has failed. I still don't see the light at the end of the table. What we've seen over the last several years should not be acceptable to anyone. It's time to clean house in the front office and the field staff. Enough is enough.
  5. No strong disagreements with your list, although It'll be hard to stand pat on a starting rotation that is among the worst in baseball. As of now it's Hughes and a big bag full of question marks.
  6. Thanks for this great resource! It's not only informative but gives us Twins fans a place to vent.
  7. It's a fair question and a well thought out article, but if the Twins keep trading their good players and collecting prospects why should I even bother watching the games anymore? Being a home town, fan favorite, does count for something. Guys like Perkins keep up fan interest in the club and he's one helluva good player. Also, our current bullpen is ok, but what serious "shut-down" options do we have besides Perkins. Maybe Fien.
  8. I think Mauer at 3rd makes a lot of sense. Injuries aside, he is their best player and his athleticism and strong arm are being wasted at 1st (not that it doesn't take talent to play 1st). Sano is still a question mark as to timing and whether he'll stick at 3rd.
  9. Was just watching Morneau in the Home Run Derby. It makes me both sad and angry. I find it ironic that an offense starved team like the Twins didn't feel the need to find a spot for a fan favorite like Morneau, yet a year later we are paying Kendrys Morales $3 million more for only a half-season to fill basically the same roll Morneau would have filled (and not doing it nearly as well). I would say absolutely no way to extending Morales, but I wouldn't put anything past the Twins front office. I thought the same thing about Pelfrey.
  10. I echo the sentiments of others that we should wait to see if he's actually hurt. This could be just some kind of face saving measure. All pitchers sometimes can't get loose. It's just part of the trade. I disagree slightly with those who would be relieved if he is actually hurt. I understand where they're coming from, but man what a blow that would be. We have $50 million invested in this guy. What if he needed surgery that was going to force him to sit out a year or more? I'd rather his poor play was caused by crappy mechanics and pitch selection. At least then there would be a chance he could work things out and still help this club.
  11. I assume Berrios' time in Ft. Myers is soon coming to an end.
  12. Fuld reminds me of Jason Tyner, a guy who made the most out of the talent and ability he was given. Although in fairness to Fuld, it was understood by everyone that Tyner was a back-up outfielder. Fuld should be in that same role as Tyner, and NOT the everyday center fielder. By the way, Hicks had a better OBP than Fuld and plays better defense.....just sayin....
  13. Is there any chance Arcia gets sent to Rochester? He's a complete mess at the plate. I don't know that running him out there night after night is the best thing for him or the organization.
  14. One argument for moving him down: Even if he's slumping, he could provide some protection for some of the weaker hitters towards the bottom of the lineup. Mauer just being there could allow Escobar, Hicks, Suzuki...etc...to see better pitches. I don't think he provides the same protection, at the moment anyway, for Dozier and Hammer.
  15. Personally, I love the signing and I don't see this as a stunt, but I agree with you 100 percent that it's going to come down to pitching, pitching, and pitching. I was really hoping Dick or TK would've asked Mr. Ryan about the Meyer/May situation yesterday during the telecast. The only thing he offered up was that they could be considered for the futures game.
  16. BURN THE POWDER BLUES!!! The combination of the uniforms and quality of the play on the field gave me horrifying flashbacks to 1983. The powder blues are cursed. Send them back to the void from which they came.
  17. Jeremy: Is there anything you can say about why you believe that's the Twins draft board? Is it your own analysis based on various bits and pieces leaked from the front office, open media sources, or do you have an "inside source"?
  18. I think Liriano is a little more frustrating because his stuff is just so good. Liriano has the talent to mow through opposing lineups, but he either doesn't trust his stuff or can't harnss is big frame. That's what's so frustrating.
  19. We know Diamond can pitch, because we've seen him do it on a consistent basis. That said, I'm not sure what value there is in keeping him around anymore. With Meyer and Darnell doing ok, his chances of rejoining the Twins appear less and less likely. Maybe it's better for everyone involved if he has a change of scenery.
  20. You can never have too much pitching. I think the comments about this being the last time the Twins pick this high for a while are right on target. Don't waste this pick on some high school project. Go for one of the established college arms. As we've seen over the past week, the Twins are completely different team when they get even a little bit of pitching. Many of the pitching prospects they have now will get hurt or never pan out. Use this pick on another arm!
  21. I'd like to see the Twins go with one of the college arms that will be available to them (Nola, Freeland, Beede). I still think pitching is a weakness for this organization. At AAA and AA we have Meyer and then a bunch of guys who don't project to be front of the rotation starters. Of the guys at A ball or Rookie, (Berrios, Stewart, Lee, Gonsalves, Thorpe)....the reality is that some will get hurt and others will have difficulty adjusting to higher competition. The Twins rolled the dice on a prep arm last year. Outside of Rodon, they should have their pick of the top college pitchers this year.
  22. I was in Bowie to see the Rock Cats yesterday. First of all, the weather was spectacular. Impressions....the stadium radar gun was broken, but Summers doesn't appear to throw super hard, maybe low 90's. Whatever he was doing was extremely effective. Not a lot of good contact by the Bowie hitters. Vargas impressed me. He's a big guy but he doesn't try to do too much. Nice line drives right up the middle. Oliveros looks like he has his velocity back.
  23. I don't think the issue is Guerrier's past accomplishments or what he still has left in the tank. The issue is does he bring any real value added to this team now or in the future? I think the answer is no. The bullpen has been solid and they shouldn't waste a roster move on an aging relief pitcher when they are in desperate need of a bench. This is a no-brainer move.....they should have let Guerrier walk....
