    It's like a three ring clown show out there. What the hell did they do during spring training? They have looked completely unprepared the last two weeks.

    From a coldly practical vantage, it sorta makes sense. However, he's a veteran who has been battling to get back to a regular role in the big leagues. He makes the team out of spring training, has a good outing, and is sent right back to St Paul. What's going on here? Is there something going on in the locker room that we're not seeing. If I'm Dobnak, I hope someone claims me.

    Maybe they're not really interested in selling, but just want a minority investor to bring a cash infusion. Refinancing $425 million wasn't so bad when rates were 2 percent, but now......

    It wasn't just last year's meltdown on its own, but the manner in which they lost. When things are not going your way, the three outcomes approach to hitting is unwatchable. Enough with the double digits in strikeouts night after night. It is so frustrating. This team is basically the same as last year, so do I want to put myself through this again? As you say, winning cures all. Let's hope.

    Yeah, I'm curious about that statement as well. It has to mean in the context of spring training. He's on a contingent contract. Evidently the front office doesn't see him as a sure thing.

    https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/02/twins-sign-ty-france.html Phil Miller of ST (via MLBTraderumors) is reporting that Ty France is only getting $1 million, and it's only guaranteed if he makes the club. So I guess he'll have a few weeks in Ft Myers to show if he still has anything left.

    Interesting, but I don't see it. As you said, they're probably not going to be competitive, so why would they take that contract? And he's been anything but an innings eater the last few years. I don't think the Marlins ownership cares what MLB thinks of their payroll.

    Yeah, I like Castro and/or Lee better than either of those two. I thought $6 million for Bader was steep. Why would they throw that kind of money at DeJong?

    I know some will disagree, but Smalley was my favorite of their color commenters. Maybe it's a generational thing. As others mentioned above, he always picked out little details about the game that I never knew before or didn't see. He struck me as having a really smart baseball mind.
