    Jeffers has a long track record of above average O production from the C position and should be a solid trade piece when he returns. The Yankees have some interesting prospects to take a look at if they want to get Jeffers, and would be in excellent position to sign him to an extension, too. Makes sense.

    It is kinda bizarre to watch a couple games where the Twins are making the D plays and the opponent is full of gaffes. Just so much extra work, pitches and pressure on the opposing Pitchers.

    Minor league DL is only 7 days, so hopefully it is neither serious or long-lasting.

    Re-signing Ryan is not happening. 1) The Twins FO has shown no appetite for such a deal' 2) There is zero reporting they have even approached him; 3) There is zero evidence or logic as to why Ryan would want to re-sign with this team; 4) He would/should command a HUGE return at the trade deadline that would dovetail with the Twins projected window; 5) I am not even sure if it is even smart for a mid-market team to spend big money on a 30 year old SP. The risks are ginormous and the Twins can't afford to take that kind of risk. And I love Ryan as a player.

    Wish we had traded for Bryce Eldridge. Guy is raking with a .953 OPS so far with the Giants. I totally agree with the philosophy of giving MLB playing time to young players to let them sink or swim. This obsession with older players and trying to extract value is tiresome and does not lend itself to hope for the future for us fans. Fedko, Roden, ERod, GG, and Jenkins all need some run when they get healthy. They have started to cast off the driftwood like Outman and Arcia. Just need to finish the house cleaning.

    But.....I thought we were going to be competitive? Like I said on Friday afternoon, this series is a good litmus test. The Twins failed. Time for Culpepper, a couple young OF's, and get the trade machine warmed up. The Fat Lady is in the middle of the song and it is time to change over this entire roster. Now, while you still have a few fans left that care.

    Like I posted earlier, this series is a good litmus test for the balance of the season. The Tigers are not good, but if they beat up the Twins we are confirmed to be non-competitive and can go forward for the balance of the season recognizing that reality. Trade Ryan (if they don't/can't/are unable to extend him), trade Jeffers, trade Larnach, trade Buxton if he wants out, and call up all the youngsters and let them have an extended chance to get MLB experience and see if they can play at this level. Think 1982 Twins. If you are going to lose a lot of games, let it be with the young players that might potentially have a future instead of this land of misfit toys filled with old never-will-be players. I daresay the fans would rather watch that product that the existing one....

    I think this series will have an impact on the looming trade deadline. Drop 2 or 3 to the Tigers and we slide into the depths of the mediocre Central and can start looking to the future.... Sweep and there is a glimmer of hope.

    This is simple: Either extend Ryan or trade him IF the value is there. They don't have to trade him, so you only do so if you feel you are getting excellent trade compensation. There is ZERO indication the Twins FO wants to---or has even tried--to extend Ryan. So listen to offers and if they are blown away, do the deal. Ryan's starts for this team for the balance of 2026 are going to be largely meaningless. and 2027 is in labor dispute limbo for now. And if MLB actually gets some labor agreement with sanity injected, the Twins can extend their young players and go from there.

    Wow! What a nice couple of throws by Martin!!!!!! So fun to see plays at the plate, especially when they go your way!

    I do agree that the Brewers are probably not a good fit for Jeffers with Contreras. Probably need to find someone else for him to go to. Should have plenty of options.

    So, in your opinion, the Brewers would turn down Ryan for Made straight up? You could be right, but that is probably a fair trade, especially if they talk to Ryan's agent about an extension. Hell, they could play him until the 2027 trade deadline and get a darn good return again, or tender him for a Comp Pick. I wouldn't trade Ryan for Williams straight up, not enough value coming back to Twins IMO. Anyone else with thoughts?

    Takes quality to get quality. And they are DEEP in SS prospects. It would be a bold move by the Brewers, but it might win them a WS.

    The Brewers have a chance at a World Series. They have a stacked farm system. The Twins are not going to re-sign either one of these players. Once Jeffers returns to health, something along the lines of: Joe Ryan and Ryan Jeffers for Jesus Made, Luis Lara and Jeferson Quero. Brewers get a top line SP, and a starting C with a good stick. Twins get a superb SS prospect, a strong OF prospect who could replace Buxton eventually in CF, and a young C with strong defense. This really bolsters the Twins D down the line with young, athletic, fast players. And they can probably hit well, too. Add or subtract to make the principal terms acceptable.

    Plenty of blame to go around for that dismal loss. Not as bad as 8-0, but still not good.

    I think it is time for Mr. Culpepper to come to Minneapolis.

    The Twins SHOULD offer him a nice extension. It would be good faith to their best pitcher, and it would be good faith for their (dwindling) fan base. However, I doubt he would sign one anyways. But the Twins won't offer an extension anyways. And if that is true, they should certainly trade him. This their sad reality.

    No matter how it stacks up, the Twins should be able to draft and excellent player at 3. No lose scenario, really.
