  1. Yikes, that was SUCH a terrible inning of pitching by Sands. And Outman can't even make a play when he is put in as a defensive replacement and the ball almost hits him in the feet. Yeesh.
  2. Is there any reason why Wallner could not play 1B? Certainly has the size. Me, I like a big target at 1B. Once a week or so a high or wide throw gets covered by that kind of size (vs. someone like Arraez). I know he has a cannon for an arm, but his fielding instincts in RF have not developed well so far.... Obviously he could also DH.
  3. I can only think that Kiersey is going to have a limited bench role as late-inning PR or defensive replacement and they wanted the rest of the AAA OF's to get regular playing time and AB's. Me, I would send Outman down and bring either Fedko or Eeles up.
  4. A month of MLB AB's is nothing to sneeze at. We were pretty excited to see Keashal in that time frame. I would like to see ANY of the AAA OF's besides Keirsey. We already know he can't hit. They must intend not to play any OF's called up and want them to get steady playing time in AAA. Keirsey will be strictly a bench piece. Disappointing, as usual.
  5. I am not sure about Larnach's trade value, but I do think there is at least a 50-50 chance he is non-tendered at his projected Arb level for next season. The Twins have lots of young OF talent, and he has not been a difference maker up to this point.
  6. I want the Twins to get some of these young players up to MLB and see what they can do. Now. Rosters expand today. Gonzalez, Rodriguez and Fedko all deserve some AB's. Promote 2 of them, please.
  7. Topa is not very good. How about a surprise double play?
  8. Mr. Leviathan and I are in complete agreement. Now let's get enough owners to exercise common sense and hire some NFL management to implement a new, fair and balanced system that the Players will also flourish under. The tippy-top players may get less money, but if the 'rank and file' players and MiLB guys get more, the votes should be available to get this deal put together.
  9. A new CBA can and should put MORE money in the players pockets. Would that satisfy you Mr. Mets fan? Full revenue sharing, financial transparency, larger allocation to players' share, salary cap and floor, earlier FA accrual, and more money to MiLB players would be a great start. The NFL is the Gold Standard for fair, competitive sports leagues. Look at the contract Parsons just got! MLB is the worst. You can be pro players and still want to see this come to fruition. Whether it will actually happen is another issue entirely. But it should.
  10. Note that the text discussing Eeles mentions Castro. He is no longer a Twin. Would love to see any and all of these players for our second Spring Training season here in September.
  11. I insulted Wallner about a week ago when he grounded into a 4-6-3 double play. He has raked ever since. I am taking full credit as a motivator! :)
  12. Terrible AB by Buck, too bad. He never saw a strike.
  13. Last Field Goal wins this one.
  14. I LOVE Keachall but that was a brutal defensive "play".
  15. Great baserunning by Buxton, bad by Jeffers. But a nice AB by Jeffers for the 2 out RBI. I forgive him. :)
  16. WTF was Martin DOING. There were 2 outs, and he was jogging towards 2nd watching the ball and then almost missed 3rd base. Cripes, is he not a smart player of just situationally unaware?
  17. Martin' s poor OF play costs at LEAST 2 runs there. D is important.
  18. The equivalent move would be to sign Walker Jenkins to that kind of deal. Fat chance the Pohlads are doing anything of the kind. The other examples listed are not even remotely close to the same situation. Ober? Why?
  19. I truly cannot see how anyone can look at this team's performance the last year and think that retaining Baldelli is a sensible notion. He has clearly lost the remnants of this team. What could hurt in trying to get some new voices in the organization at this point? They sure are not going anywhere.
  20. Montgomery's homer barely squeaked over the fence at 423 feet..... Cripes, just leave him out there and let him figure out how to pitch. Game is already over, so why the heck not?
  21. I think Abel has some good stuff. He just needs to learn how to use it effectively to get MLB hitters out. He also needs to work on his control, both in and out of the strike zone. Giving up hits on 0-2 counts by throwing mediocre breaking balls in the strike zone is just lousy execution/game plan. Ok with him taking his lumps and getting a half dozen starts under his belt for the rest of the year. After all, this is essentially extended spring training at this point to get guys experience and see who sinks and who swims at this level.
  22. Abel needs to learn to spike that breaking ball ahead of the count. Hasn't he watched the Twins batters flail at those?
  23. Clemens has been a nice addition. But the bat flip while multiple games below .500 is a bit much....Stay classy guys.
  24. Amazing that their fielders can somehow see fly balls......
  25. I can accept that MLB players have trouble hitting. Pitchers have never been better and throwing harder and working fewer innings so they are not fatigued. But MLBers that can't field their position is simply unacceptable. Sheesh.
