On a daily site things get critiqued more than if you are just checking in at the end of each week. Yes, they are only two games under .500, but are 1 -5 in the last 6 games, and since the 2 - 0 start have total hits of 4, 3, 11, 7, 2, 3 (that is 30 hits), and have K'd 12, 8, 6, 15, 14, 7(that is 62 times, which is twice as many as hits) I and I hope everybody else wants every Twin to do well, but it doesn't make you a horrible person or fan to question, criticize, and ask questions. I mean I did spend multiple hours watching barely watchable games two of the last three days. So yes they are only two games under .500 but how long will that last if things don't change?

I highly doubt your statement is true, most just wanted Ober to get a chance to start the inning, and if Ohtani gets a hard hit and they pull him for Okert I don't think people would have complained and if he would been left in long enough to get clobbered, then yes there would have been complaints as well.

It is way to early, but the Astros did Play Texas, NYY and Blue Jays, Not two teams from the Central division. The Astros do have 16 doubles and 16 homers and the Twins have 10 and 4. Seems like less for them to worry about and just have their bullpen do better and start playing some worse teams. As opposed to the Twins, correct?

Cole was saying it is combination of less sticky stuff, throwing harder, and the pitch clock rushing pitchers. I would add I think it might have something to do with are pressure filled those mid innings are on guys, knowing if they even give up a hit, there is a chance of them being pulled. No cruising through the middle innings giving up a run or even a couple of base runners.

I disagree agree Wallner showed fire complaining about the called third strike that was IMO a strike. Swing the darn bat!

A utility guy forced into full time playing doesn't play well? Call me baffled. I agree with your scenario.

agreed, If I remember correctly that was the 4th and Ryan came out in the 5th and tried to get that call, and Cleveland ended up getting two hits (an a couple of foul balls) of that low and inside pitch. Then Wallner's next at bat took that pitch and it was called a strike and kind of complained again, I think he ended up getting hit by a pitch that at bat. It just seemed like Cleveland realized that was getting called and starting looking for that pitch and the Twins didn't adjust to that pitch being called.

I watched the whole game and the ump was horrible, but I don't think it favored one team or the other, it looks worse for the Twins because they were taking more pitches, and Cleveland was going after that low inside pitch that Wallner and others continued to watch after it was being called a strike over and over. The worst call IMO was the one on Santana that started way outside and ended up outside.

Week in Review: Slow To Go
TwinsDr2021 replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
watched Saturday's game with my son, and he said if Correa or AK don't hit a couple of homers there is no chance the Twins can win because of the rest of the lineup looked absolutely clueless. The strike zone was terrible but they kept watching that low inside pitch be called a strike and complained about it, and when the Twins went there in the zone Cleveland just laced it to right field. The worst part is the Twins hitters look they are taking the approach, just swing harder. -
I watched most of the game Saturday and the batting was gross, Kepler looks the worst I have seen him, Jeffers last K was horrible, two swings for the fences where he ended up falling to a knee and wasn't even close to either pitch. Castro looked like a guy that isn't supposed to be an everyday player. How do you take 7 walks get hit by 3 pitches and score 1 run. (I get the strike zone was crazy bad)

They said on TV yesterday, that Theilbar is ahead of Topa at this time, and will be pitching live BP this weekend and if it goes well be sent out to begin his rehab.

I like DaShawn Keirsey and think he could have some time in the majors, but I think it is a stretch to call him a prospect, he turns 27 in just over a month. The others guys do seem like somebody to keep an eye on.

To be honest I don't understand at all what they are doing with pitchers, unless the plan is to bring them along so slowly they won't be able to debut until age 24 or later so they never have to give them a contract. Because they certainly aren't prepping them to be starters to go deep into games. Festa ins 22 started 18 (pitched in 21) and pitched 103.66 innings, than last year started 19 (pitched in 21) and his innings dropped down to 92.33, and the first game of the year he goes 3 innings. Raya started 17 games(pitched in 19) and pitched 65 innings, and last year started 22 games and with 62.33 innings, My math says that is less than 3 innings. That is different than what they have done with Winder, Ober and Varland and they have basically been 5 innings starters in the majors, not sure how Festa and Raya could be expected to even do that anytime soon. (the even let Graterol pitch more) With that said I am cheering for both to become major league stars!

Martin has 3 at bats so I don't think he plays in the good or bad of the team so far. The problem is farmer has 10 at bats already (0 hits), Castro is 2/16, Kepler is 1/13, Jeffers is 2/15, and Julien is 2/15, and somehow Wallner only has 7 at bats with 1 hit and 5 K's. It is too early to start worrying and the Twins are above .500, but would like to see at least a couple of these guys or more start to heat it up at home.

Once again I was a fan of the way Rocco used the pen, even after giving up a lead off homer Duarte was allowed to finish the inning and the next, I just don't believe this is something Rocco would have done in the past. Maybe he can continue to learn on the pinch hitting side of things next. He makes it super easy for the other teams to set a game plan.

These are guys that have started for Cleveland and were drafted just since 2019 - Bieber,Allen,Bibee,McKenzie,Civale,Williams,Plesac,Morgan,Plutko, I would say Bauer is like Ryan, and they got Clevinger from the Angles as a minor league guy.- 366 replies

The real problem IMO is this FO hasn't developed enough good healthy (being the key word) major league players in the amount of years they have been here. (Active roster, Alcala, Funderburk, Jax, Ober, Sands, Varland, Jeffers, Julien, AK (prior FO draft), Martin and Wallner) nothing screams out amazing job until Lewis can stay healthy, and Wallner and Julien can hit lefties. And in their top prospects I don't see much help in the near future (hopefully a few can be ready sometime next year) outside of Martin (bench player), Lee (currently hurt), Festa (not on the 40), Canterino (hurt again),SWR and Maybe Severino.

Larnach has to hope he gets a chance at some point this season and does really well, because if not he will be 28 at the start of next season and more likely than not will fall into the Andrew Stevenson relm of players.(Why would the Twins go to Arb with a 28 year old minor league guy) Miranda on the other hand was just an average minor league player until he broke out big time at age 23 season, so I hope last year was because of injury and gets back into the groove this year and re-establishes himself, 25 is not too old and he is barely less than a year older than Martin.

Brewers 3, Twins 2: Rally Runs Short for Minnesota
TwinsDr2021 replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I should have clarified, the positive was only using two relief pitchers for the rest of the game after a short start and them doing great, and I will say again that is something we haven't seen in MN lately. There have been games in the past that they would have used 4 or 5 guys to finish out that game.- 95 replies

Brewers 3, Twins 2: Rally Runs Short for Minnesota
TwinsDr2021 replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
On a positive note, a starter only went 4 innings, and only two relief pitchers were needed, that is not something we have seen much here the last few years. On a bad note they have K'd 38 times and only have 24 hits which wouldn't be so bad but they only have 1 homer.- 95 replies
