  1. Yeah people who buy Twins tickets love 100 loss seasons. Worked great in the play off last year.
  2. That is what AAA is for, not the Twins. If fans in the stands want to watch might-be players then they will watch the Saints; they pay for ticket to watch major league pro-ball, not AAA pro-ball. Larnack is not that good, he is now striking out, a lot, and in the field he has weak arm and is slow. Kiriloff seems ready for the big show.
  3. He is not ready for big league yet, but who else is there at this time. Larnach doesn't have strong arm but at that Gordon and Celestino are worse. When Refsnyder or Garlick come back send him back down.
  4. After the 2017 disaster they did not dump a bunch of veterans, they let few go and traded a few then added a LOT of veterans for 2019. Had they gone the newbie way after 2018 this would just be another mediocre season after the 2017 disaster, not high expectations following two good years.
  5. If they trade them they will get -- nothing -- I'd rather see entertaining veterans than newbie nobodies , even if they lose, and they need players that can field the ball, BETTER, not more newbie slow weak arm Larnachs or throw the ball into right field Arraez.
  6. This Fantasy Baseball inspired trade shtick is weird except I imagine most of you were not around for the sad seventies when 85 wins was a very good year for a decade. I can still hear the Twins adds loudly hurrahing BOMBO RIVERA, CRAIG KUSICK. and WILLIIE NORWOOD. They were not as bad as bashers like to make the out to be but they are more likely what the Twins without the vets will look like. (Arreaz and Larnachs fielding reminds me of Norwood) I watch now to see Cruz, Donaldson, Simmons vets who know how to play the game well. I will greatly reduce time spent on a bunch of newbie disappointments which those who is more likely than 90 wins a season. Addendum: I feel bad that the Twins may be the one to put the hurt on Detroit, the way their play has made all snide comments god wannabe baseball experts said of them this spring asinine. They were only three games behind Cleveland.
  7. Bring back Covid-reduced spectators, they might fill the stands. If they lose Cruz, I will probably listen to them on radio as no good reason to watch on TV.
  8. Cruz wanted a two year contract, and said he wanted to spend some time this year playing in the field. Does he have to OK any traide? He likes it here, that is obvious and right now Cruz, Donaldson, Polanco and Simmons are the main reason the team is not challenging the Diamondbacks for the bottom rung. If he does not come back next year, this will seem like the good old days. Twins will get nothing even near his level of performance, and a gaggle of wannbes is getting less than zero.
  9. How well has Sano done this year, compare Schoop's current stats to Arraez, compare Rosario's RBI's, real numbers not pie-in-the sky computer game to Larnach. People do not pay the price for a game nowadays to watch school boys learn to play on a losing team. As I said, I have been watching the Twins for too many years, an entire decade of the seventies, of also ran mediocrity, which is what dumping the vets for more years of we cannot afford good guys crap it will be. Computer stats are like a bookies book , numbers never lie, yeah right.
  10. For you and LA Vikes fan: I do not know if you were around in the seventies when excluding 1970 when the twins were as good as the 2019 team, the Twins never won more than 85 games. They won the World Series in 1987 but even at that it was not till 1988 that they won more than 85 games. They brought in a varied herd of players that were the next great thing but while some were pretty good the team was on the best years, mediocre. If they dump Cruz, Donaldson and Simmons they will be back to at best , the 85 win Twins and probably a LOT worse. Kaat commented that the White Sox were beating the Twins with simple basic baseball -- good base running, some thing the Twins do not have. If they lose the home run hitters and good fielding players, they will be worse than they are now. Schoop is/was far better than Arraez in fielding and he now has 16 HR, 49 RBI and .274 BA, / C.J. Cron has 11 HR, 32 RBI, .252 BA / Rosario -- I will say his bat may, may be similar to Larnach but his arm (fielding ability) is far, far better / only Gonzalez has gone down hill from that team. They were part of the reason the Twins did what they did in 2019; if the Twins dump Cruz, Donaldson and Simmons it will be the final nail in the coffin of turning the Twins into a .500 team on the best years, I.E. a return to the Seventies.

    The Grand "Re-Tool" Experiment

Larnach is to slow and has too weak an arm for left field. Jim Kaat said a fast left fielder is very important.
  12. Why is Jeffers, easy out, still catching instead of Astudillo?
  13. Walks, from any pitcher, any time, have been the death of the Twins this year. These were just as bad as any before. Some here sound like Baldelli ignoring the pissant play from his team during an interview with happy talk.
  14. Three of the reasons the Twins did as well as they did in 2019 are gone; trade away what is left means another , or close to 100 loss season with next year being no better and the future amounting to pit-in-sky fantasy baseball pipe dream. Can the Twins owners deal with the money lost due no one in the stands, or better yet, will they?
  15. How good are Larnach or Kiriloff really, based on what? Larnach is slow afoot and has a weak arm, stopping runs is as important as scoring runs.
  16. Yep trade the talent that makes the Twins worth watching -- lose 100 this year, bring the supposed raw miracle workers next year and lose another 100, wow, 10,000 at the stadium will be a good night.
  17. Why? Change a team that loses for bad pitching to one that loses with even worse hitting? Four of the gents that helped the 2019 team to the record it had are gone and doing pretty well else where, so lets get rid of the rest?
  18. They won't be a serious contender till they get a manger who wants to win the World Series , not one that makes excuses for pissant playing. Detroit who is supposed to be a worse team than the Twins swept the Yankees in New York, (hmm, they have Schoop and Grossman, we have Cave and Arraez) until the Twins get a manager who insists on doing that, supposed rebuilding will just be more decades of a losing team , without exception. They need to try to win now, not in 2031.
  19. I do not know where the asinine Fantasy Baseball crap came from but it looks like that is the same mindset the Twins supposed front office has when it come to baseball as a whole.
  20. His fielding is far, far better than Arraez while his batting numbers for far less at bats are damn near as good. As Park wrote in an article his attitude in the dugout is just as important as his playing skills. It looks like he has lost a little weight too. I wonder why his batting numbers have dropped off so suddenly, perhaps being sent down while a disaster like Celestino or Rohrvedt is not, is one reason.
  21. From 2010 to 2018 the twins only had two respectable years; in 2019 it was quality veterans that were a big reason they did as well as they did. Odds are all the hype of bring up blah, blah, blah because he looks good in the minors will just be return of 2011 to 2018 , at best. I want to a winning or at least .500 team not year, after year, after year of losing while miracle dudes from the minors are mediocre most of the time.
  22. If they can get sell him off, do it. His sub-average fielding skills have done more harm to the Twins than his supposed good bat. The way he jumps around at bats and then watches a third strike make all the hype wishful thinking.
  23. I just joined this sight after reading it for most of the year; in some ways it reminds me of Reusse who I found be very annoying when his show was still on KSTP radio station. There is a LOT we'll just bring up x, y or q , or just wait till j, k or h shows up which is like around Two Thousand Ten when all the blabber in the papers and radio was when Buxton, Hicks or Sano gets here replacing whom ever the god wannbe sports writer dissed on the team, THEN the Twins will return to former glory. Well they came; Buxton is as good as the hype, but fragile, Hicks no better than what they had, Sano -- they sent him down to Single A ball to teach him a lesson, time to do it again but at that none were the miracle cure the writers blabbered about while dissing veterans. SO I have watched the Twins since the year they arrived, but if they dump Cruz for some other miracle cure, I will not stay up late to watch them fail even quicker than they do now. I have checked current stats on some of the players at Baseball Ref. site from the 2019 team discarded and they should have kept Schoop and Gonzalez who were/are far better than Arraez who wants to throw the ball out into right field rather than the First Base Man. Cron at first base would be far better than Sano, who is a guaranteed out except when he hits a home run. Only Rosario is not up to snuff this year. There, I got that off of my chest as after years of -- Well when (insert name here) miracle man/men come up from the minors then the Twins will suddenly be SOOOO much better, -- and I could not take it any more (Too many years of Reusse are partly to blame). In many ways the front office reminds me of the Viqueens front office and head coach, GEE we have a winning team, lets dump what has made us a winner and bring in some one who will change that. As an aside, since Tom Kelly left, the Twins cannot beat the Yankees, to me, that is because none of the managers have the guts to tell the players to pull their heads out of their rectal orifice, but then Billy Martin lost three in a row to Baltimore so maybe the manager is not the only sore point. WE'RE GONNA WIN TWINS, WE'RE GONNA SCORE....
