    It is simple reality; defense prevents runs, you do not stop the opposing teams runs withpoor fielding, your bat is not going to save the day.

    He was just fine from 2017-2019, last year not so good. Where did you dream up your second statement? His numbers in Left for fielding are far, far, far better than Larnach or Gordon.

    Wallner on the field is a bull in a china shop Two games in a row he nearly plowed into the another fielder and twice in one game. I can still the the, -what the hell are you doing-, look Miranda gave him after the second one.

    Sturgeon does and then does not play, I wonder why. Jeffers is not exactly tearing the cover off of the ball.

    There is one problem with playing with heart; IF things do not go well, for any reason misfortune becomes semi-constant, putting your total heart into it can turn into total frustration so one tries harder and harder , or the opposite, decides the harder he tries the worse it gets and then says to hell with it, it is not worth the effort. The last few words remind me of some poster's attitude towards this season and team.

    Yeah, they could bring back Simmons who glove is still one of the best and have him work with the excellent Twins batting coaches on hitting.

    Hate to say it but when a player runs hard, too far ,is thrown out, that is heart, trying to do more they he/they can but trying any way. IF it is successful, even better. Twins run game shows who has heart and who does not; I love to watch Leon get his short legs moving down the base line, that is heart. -- (as much as he was ridiculed, Astudillo had more heart than 98.6 percent of this team this year.)

    90 losses next year, for sure, 100 losses quite probably; just what the paying fans need, and there are not many already.

    I looked at the Twins records, 2021 compared to 2022. The only top rank team (Early Cleveland this year was lousy unlike now) and the only blow out they had, for them, that was against a good team was against the Yankees 8-1; while the size of the blow-outs agains the Twins this year, were not as horrific as last year, they were still for practical purposes equal in number to last year. They had four with over 12 runs against last year, and two with 12 runs against; this year there was one over 12 and two more at 12 runs allowed. I am rationalizing here, putting blow-out at 10 or more runs but there was only one where the Twins were shut-out last year, with two this year. Had Cleveland not been so bad early on and Detroit lost the oomph they had last year the Twins would be no better or worse this year than last, so next year can only get better.

    I will put that as one of the major reason the Twin were here today-gone tomorrow early in the year and the major reason for the late season collapse, while I still believe playing Russian Roulette at DH this year without him, hurt far more than most want to say.

    IF Jeffers defensive ability does not improve 200 percent , he does not belong on the Twins team. Arraez is a mystery, some thing changed drastically, some good, home runs, mostly bad, big slump, few walks. Next spring will be very interesting to see who is there, and who stays on the Major League team, I would love to see every one, and I mean every one, who is on the team now in spring training and then get weeded out.

    He has a .104 batting average, and his SS fielding numbers make Polanco look good a SS, good grief, he belongs in the AAA and nowhere else right now. They would do better bring Simmons back, and he is still as good a fielder as it gets.

    IF, if, if, if, if... if wishes came true, the Twins would have been in the World Series again after 1991.

    Unless they pick up a top line veteran, they have no one as good at third as Urshela, and while Wallner is going to be strong part of the Twins in the future he needs a lot of instruction on fielding so they cannot afford to dump Kepler. Catcher, First Base and Left Field are spot where ??? should/will play next year.

    Yeah right people are going pay Major league prices to watch players they could have watched at Minor league prices. People do not go to Twins games to watch AAA players, the Saints are there for that.

    Sounds about right, as it was rookies being injured that brought up rookies to take their place. The incompetent fielding by so many rookies is why they do not bring them up sooner, a good bat does not make up for fielding snafu.
