⁹This was a good article to read ... Can Tom turn the tables with his words , he sure better back up his words ... I've stated before , get Falvey out of the baseball operations and let him stay in the business operations , this should be Falvey's last year in the baseball operations ( their mind set at winning the division as of now isn’t worth a hill of beans ) ... We need exactly what the writer wrote , hitters , bullpen pitchers and some better defense , we need run producers and as of now we need to spend or trade for those players, bullpen could use a veteran if he is already better than what we have , the dumpster arms haven't been better than what we have and after the deadline last year our prospects weren't given a look see and we trotted out the worst bullpen since 2021-22 ... In conclusion : I like that we have a surplus of average arms or better , let them pitch , it's our strength until proven otherwise ... But yes we need a couple of bats that can make our lineup stronger , spend the money and keep the prospects or trade some prospects for the hitters we need ... A nice Christmas present would be nice Tom and Derek ....

Walker was kinda a late bloomer , 30 years old before he really started to accumulate any war's ... Walked bats righthanded and his defense would be welcomed with Clemens then in the utility role ... So Christy is suggesting trading for Walker but only giving up a player from A ball and Houston sending us money to pay down Walkers contract , I think there is only 1 insane person that would do that kind of trade in baseball and that is falvey ... If Walker is 35 , why not go with Goldschmidt who is 38 ??? , who would be cheaper , but we have Bell so I don't think anymore is going to happen with the first base position ...

The Opportunity (and Cost) of a Wide-Open Bullpen
Blyleven2011 replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Yes the adventures will continue with the twins , but I wish the adventure to play baseball is not the boring baseball we have seen in 2021-22 or 2024-25 ... I'd like to see the young arms from AAA get there debuts in the bullpen and show that they are ready , but to start the season with some quality veteran FA signings or trades for the bullpen and our the young arm starters that there is no spot in the rotation have a crack at the bullpen or depth in AAA ... Someone mentioned Kirby Yates, he's been good when healthy and worth the risks ...- 37 replies

If you give falvey the money and he spends it wisely on quality players that perform and produce than we can celebrate ... Falvey hasn't been known to spend wisely so that is a detriment to this organization ... This is it , last year for falvey with the baseball side of it , have him just stick to being on the business operations and outcof the way of the game ... If he gets the money and we finish 500 or above , then he did his job , improvement is what we need , if the same players he trots out for the 3rd consecutive year don't improve it's time for falvey to step aside ... I was being nice and didn't say fire him ...

Notice the pole on pohlads approval rating , now that they have spent some money on Bell and announced the minority owners , the tally in approval has climbed to over 5 , i cant recall it being over 5 in a very very long time ... See what spending money does to a person , it makes them happy ... I personally haven't changed , i still want new owner , the pohlads screwed this organization up after 2023 and let the fans down with a window of opportunity ... With out looking it up , if GM's were given the wins just like the manager gets , who would have the most wins in a 10 season period , Derek Falvey or Mr Terry Ryan ...

New Details Emerge in Twins Minority Sale
Blyleven2011 replied to Cody Christie's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
Pohlads came out smelling like a rose if this is correct and i interpreted it right , what 3 investors would spend almost 1.1 billion for 20% of the team when they could have bought the whole team for 1.8 billion , if this is true nothing in sports makes sense these days ...- 39 replies

He probably wouldn't because he is 1 year from free agency and and his agent Boras wouldn't advise it this close to free agency ... This was about who the FO would consider to extend !

Nobody of the youth group i guess you would call them has not shown enough to deserve an extension yet , Lopez and Buxton have had there extentions , will they get another ( time will tell with this organization ) , Ryan is worthy but doubtful , jeffers is borderline extendable , 2 years at most

Same Offseason, Different Winter for the Twins
Blyleven2011 replied to Parker Hageman's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Fan research on Fandom , again the pohlads and FO haven't done there homework , attendance has been on the no where to go but up and that hasn't happened since the right sizing after 2023 ... Yes it would be nice to have a consistent power bat like Alonso , but the twins have only had 1 true power hitter since 1961 and that is the great memories of Harmon Killebrew crushing consistently 40 plus homeruns a season , yes we've had Cruz and Dozier even topped 40 homers for a season , we've had hrbek , Puckett gaetti , Bruno, willing ham all top 30 homer seasons but not as consistent as the killer ... We really just haven't been a homerun hitting team consistently over the years and it's gotten so boring that falvey believed we were a homerun hitting team and forgot that there is more to playing the game of baseball than the solo homeruns , ( small ball can be successful if done right and some teams have done it right ) , so much wrong with this team it's time to turn it around with our cheap minimum wage prospect's and teach them the right way or it's the highway ... The twins did well with the mentioned 3 free agents last year but even a blind squirrel finds a acorn once in awhile and falvey finally found the veterans after 8 years of dumpster diving ... -

Mountcastle would fill the 1st base position for a year ... I don't think any trade will happen, the FO since 2022 deadline has horded their prospects and they just acquired a bunch at last year's deadline ... There are some free agents that the twins should go after first and once they are off the table then maybe trade for 1st baseman ... Goldschmidt , Hosken , bell , o Hearn and ??? A right handed 1st baseman should be the priority cause they have shown there love for Kody by stating he's our first baseman ...
-
It a no for me trading for Abrams , bat and speed but no defense at short ... Lewis in 2026 might just prosper into some good production , he improved on defense , now he just needs to get the MOJO back in his hitting , I'm sure he's working hard this offseason ... If he doesn't improve to above average in 2026 then his time with Minnesota could be short and we can discuss this next off season , shortstops are coming in the very near future if Culpepper takes the necessary steps ...

Fired Twins Coach Wins Top Honors from Baseball America
Blyleven2011 replied to Cody Christie's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
Goes to show everyone how flawed our FO and manager were with their plan and coaches ... Why does our fired coaches and even some players flourish with other teams , probably because they are doing their jobs the way they see fit and want to and not the way the FO and manager want to ... Our past manager was not a major league leader in the dugout and our top FO leader is a incompetent leader... Falvey is not and I say it again IS NOT the smartest person in the room ... -
The Twins are All-In on Royce Lewis (Again)
Blyleven2011 replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Lewis should be fine , he's got a good head on his shoulders and likes to play the game ... The injuries have taken a toll on him some , I'm not sure but he didn't seem to be happy and maybe a new manager will help adjust his mental game ... This is a make or break year for Lewis I'd like to see some of the 2023 Lewis in 2026 ...- 36 replies

Early this morning I thought Rosario or fedko might be taken either by the Royals who need outfielders or st Louis Cardinals who are a rebuilding team .... I guess it wasn't to be and maybe either of these two could blossom this season and end up helping the big club in 2026 ...

Rocco Baldelli Heads West to Join Dodgers Front Office

Rocco Baldelli Heads West to Join Dodgers Front Office
Blyleven2011 replied to Cody Christie's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
I thought I was done reading any article about Rocco Baldelli ... But I'm ready to slam him some more ... The article is bulls**t , Rocco was not a major league manager and he never developed any prospects at the major league level ... Nobody took responsibility on this team , it was everyone that was incompetent , FO down to manager and coaches , the owners too in right sizing their payroll ... Now that baldelli is hired by the dodgers , I predict he will jinx dodger blue and they will not 3 peat in the world series even with the newly signed Diaz as their closer ... You heard it here first sports fans -
All our valued veteran players, the front office will at least listen to the offers ... Our veterans are still in the running to be traded no matter what the reports are that they are not going to be traded ...
