  1. That seems to be the scouting report. Will outgrow CF, not enough arm for RF. He will be a LF/1B guy.
  2. Wait, a guy has 50 games in AA, has a nice stretch and people want him promoted. That's a new one. I could be wrong as soon as tomorrow, but with his age, background, and the fact he gets hurt basically every year, I would be surprised if he makes it out of AA this year.

There is a quote I saw from the killer that he almost didn't go through with it because the people were so nice to him during that hour. That is some demonic stuff. And for the record, our church would let in a weird acting 21 year old black guy who shows up to our Bible studies, but sadly we might have some pause now.
  4. And the poor start isn't even that poor. He can certainly remain in a rotation with that type of run. I do wonder how much the dead arm is actually impacting him, maybe a breather in the bullpen could be of value.
  5. I'm personally more bullish on Rosario. He will never be a high bb guy, but his k rate has been creeping down. Not an ideal player, but a low bb/ lowish k guy can survive when they have a decent hit tool and bring speed and d to the table as well. I generally agree with your take on the other 4 as likely outcomes.

I read this from tweets from some journalists that I respect. It comes from a 2009 DHS report. I dug into it a little more since I wrote that and it doesn't seem quite as straightforward as I was lead to believe. I think the general thinking is that organized groups are easier to track than lone wolves for the reasons you said but I am now more skeptical that white supremacist groups are necessarily the biggest single threat among lone wolves, but I also can't think of a type that would be more dangerous.

I think it is conventional wisdom in security circles that the lone wolf white supremacist is the biggest terror threat in the country. Would be nice if it is was a little harder for them to get guns.
  8. If they are talking about it in this way, might be setting the stage for a temporary move. Does ease the numbers crunch when Santana returns and provides a needed boost to the pen. 50 million reasons it wouldn't be permanent, but a month or two could work.
  9. Yes, this can't be said enough. You know who Pelfrey has a lot of value to right now...the Twins. Wins on the major league level is kind of the point.
  10. Never a doubt about Vargas.
  11. I'm think more stuff and projection.
  12. I don't think we can question the Twin's scale for OPSBI. Or he wants to throw off other teams who might want to steal proprietary information off of that picture. Way too risky.
  13. Yes. I personally would wait a week at most, but a couple wouldn't hurt either. Give him some pre-game work on days he DHs.
  14. Schafer, Duensing, etc. This is the most minor of concerns at this point.
  15. I am quite OK with him walking away at the end of the season when weighing his remaining production vs. what that compensation likely would be. Of course this changes if the Twins don't reverse this slide and become sellers in July.
  16. I agree with this, little reason to trade Pelfrey. It's not like other teams aren't fully aware of who he is and what he has done. May is a very interesting piece, could get a young position player or a good vet with a year of control beyond this one. Milone would probably be similar to Pelfrey, but maybe a better mlber with some control beyond this year.
  17. I would say less because Pelfrey has significantly less upside than Liriano had at the time. Hernandez did not have upside, but Escobar is a decent return, someone who is a utility guy with upside for more, could also be a major league reliever. So a controlled major league bit piece, corner bat in last year of deal, or C+ prospect.
  18. The latter. Might get a guy like Harrison or Gonsalves.
  19. This likely turns out to be a couple of low level employees going after Luhnow because of some slight, right? Does seem like it is a perfect storm of a successful, smug organization going after the analytics darling.
  20. Not all of us had the chance to watch him live.
  21. If they trade May for a LH reliever it better be Chapman.
  22. The preferred term is mind boggled. And for putting something in quotes, I'm pretty sure no one said it was easy. But I do trust athletes.
  23. Gonsalves and Hu will be ranked lower than Stewart unless he gets hurt. On merit.
  24. He won't go anywhere near walls. And if he misplays a ball, he'll probably laugh it off and hit a bomb. If that destroys his confidence he has no chance when he has his first sombrero. This is a highly confident professional athlete, not a middle schooler.
