  1. Falvine can spin this however they'd like. However, it is THEIR JOB to convince players to sign here. It is pretty unfathomable that they can go into a season with 2.5 starting pitchers, one of which is likely to regress big time.
  2. So the front office decides they don't care about infield defense but won't sign elite pitchers that miss bats and "pitch-to-contact" pitchers aren't a good fit. This organization...
  3. I just do not get the Matthew Boyd love.
  4. I wonder if any 100 win team with such an obvious and glaring weakness has ever been so disinterested in improving their team.
  5. Wonder what that's like.
  6. There's always Trevor Cahill.
  7. I'm saying it's odd that not one team would look at him as an ace considering his six year history but I can see how you would think I was attacking you.
  8. Odd since he was in the top three in Cy Young voting 3 of 4 years prior to last year's abbreviated season where he broke his arm.
  9. I'm perpetually in Anger stage, including during the season. I recognize this is a very sad and tragic way to go through life so maybe I'm in the depression or acceptance stage after all.
  10. I think everyone is seriously over-estimating how much it would take to land a legitimate starting pitcher. Almost every trade is completely lopsided in the favor of the the team getting the established pitcher. The lone exception I can think of is the Sale for Moncada/Kopech trade over the past 10 years.
  11. Per MLB Trade Rumors: We’re closing in on the one-year anniversary of these memorable words from Twins GM Thad Levine: “The best moves are made not when you’re trying to open the window to contend, but when the window is wide open. We’re very eagerly waiting for this window to be opened, and when it is, we plan on striking.”
  12. If our offer to Bumgarner is less than what we offered Wheeler we won't get him either.
  13. Miraculously, the Giants were able to overcome all of this to win three championships. But yes, obviously, most of us would rather have Strasburg than Bumgarner and Addison Reed.
  14. Just a formality to make way for his extension.
  15. While not really a classic series, it was refreshing to see two teams rely on their starting pitchers and not try dumb **** like openers and pulling starters in the third inning.
  16. The carnival-like atmosphere during Big Sexy's first start. Honestly, I feel like the like most of the past decade has been pretty forgettable. Thome had a few moments but even this year nothing really sticks out for me.
  17. My co-worker despises Wisler for some reason (he also had an irrational hatred for Dyson long before we ever picked him up) so I will cheer for Wisler more than anyone since Tim Stauffer.
  18. The point of it was to show that the Yankees are not some big, scary, unbeatable powerhouse and that no one else in the league has any issue beating them in the postseason.
  19. This has been rehashed time and time again so I won't get into the Twins failures against the Yankees. Instead, this is about the Yankees failures against everybody else. Since their dynasty officially ended in the 2001 World Series, NY has been a pretty crappy postseason team (when not facing the Twins). WC ALDS ALCS WS Total Series 2002 1-3 1-3 0-1 2003 3-1 4-3 2-4 9-8 2-1 2004 3-1 3-4 6-5 1-1 2005 2-3 2-3 0-1 2006 1-3 1-3 0-1 2007 1-3 1-3 0-1 2008 NA 2009 3-0 4-2 4-2 11-4 3-0 2010 3-0 2-4 5-4 1-1 2011 2-3 2-3 0-1 2012 3-2 0-4 3-6 1-1 2013 NA 2014 NA 2015 0-1 0-1 0-1 2016 NA 2017 1-0 3-2 3-4 7-6 2-1 2018 1-0 1-3 2-3 1-1 2019 3-0 2-4 5-4 1-1 Total 2-1 29-24 18-25 6-6 55-56 12-13 vs Twins 1-0 15-2 16-2 6-0 vs non-Twins1-1 14-22 18-25 6-6 39-54 6-13 NY is basically a 68 win team over 162 against every opponent but the Twins and win less than a third of their postseason series (if you count the play-in games as series). It is really annoying that every other team in the league plays NY to a draw, at minimum, but most have their way with them. But, hey, it's all a crapshoot once you get to the postseason, right?
  20. Quit trying to find a diamond in the rough and sign the best guy out there.
  21. Whoever gets it better be a left handed slugger.
  22. Hopefully there's something to this and we can get back to playing baseball next year. The postseason (aside from the Twins) has been filled with really good BASEBALL so far and it's fun to watch.
  23. No.
  24. I feel slightly better about the Twins showing after watching this, although Atlanta still won two games and could have easily won the series.
