  1. I won't boo this man, but I will BOO YAH this man. F off, Koch!
  2. Tonight's episode was between Dick, LaTroy, Hunter and then LaPanta, A.J., and Doug regarding the 2002 ALDS vs Oakland Even though that team did not win a World Series, to me that was the most fun team I've watched. Everything from surviving contraction to finally being relevant again was a thrill to watch. While their memories are a bit faulty at times (Torii thinks Giambi was in that series and they seem to bounce between 2001 and 2002 a lot), they did have some interesting stories. One of the most interesting to me is that they credit Mike Jackson for a galvanizing speech he gave on the plane ride to Oakland for Game 5. Obviously I remember Jackson being on the team but it's interesting that he's credited as being a team leader on that squad. It makes sense in retrospect, but I found that cool, nonetheless. Also, LaTroy discussing Molitor's advance scouting report on Tejada's bat slowing down so don't throw him any breaking balls was really cool to hear about. A.J. calls out Art Howe for not starting Zito twice in the series when he won the Cy Young. It's hard to believe that was already 18 years ago and even harder to believe that's the highlight for this franchise in the past 29 years.
  3. The three best I've seen are 91, 01, and 11 in that order.
  4. Nice! I saw this story the other night and thought of your sims. For some reason I didn't put two and two together.
  5. Yes, now I'm going to go play Tecmo Super Bowl while my mother makes me pizza rolls.
  6. My biggest fear is that Manfred will decide he likes some of these changes and they will end up permanent. I do not want realignment. I do not want expanded playoffs. I don't even want interleague play, multiple divisions, or the last two rounds of expansion. Basically, I just want everything to go back to how it was when I was 10.
  7. This is really good. A lot of interesting facts I never knew, which is all I can ask for out of an article. This writer did a really good job.
  8. Who knew the Indians were so good that year to have two top five finishers? I love the Gold Glove argument when Jeter was an average defensive player. This guy basically jumps around from Sabermetric arguments to old school arguments (Gold Glove voting) whenever it fits his narrative.
  9. Honestly, I'm enjoying watching the classic games MLBN has been showing far more than what baseball 2019 became.
  10. My favorite thing about this was that the announcer would always point out that this park favors neither a right handed nor left handed batter or American or National League hitter.
  11. Last year Kaat teamed up with Bert for at least some of the games. I'd imagine Kaat will do the games on the East Coast unless there is something special going on at Target Field that he'll need to attend.
  12. https://sports.yahoo.com/gold-glove-finalist-robbie-grossman-060206074.html Admittedly, I did not follow baseball's awards last year but... what? I get it he didn't make an error but his range is atrocious, so bad we compared it to Delmon.T This is a sham.
  13. I was just logging on to type this. I applaud his candor and indifference to calling out his boss. I'm going to try that tomorrow.
  14. Who needs a real Game 163 when you can just contrive one every single year, no matter if the teams have a ten win differential or not.
  15. We can only hope that Bailey is another Martin Perez. I have nothing but disgust for both signings but Perez managed to put together several quality outings before the inevitable happened. I will be very surprised if Bailey even gives us five or six quality starts (such a low bar) this season.
  16. This reminds me of the experimental rules they were toying with last year, including CHANGING THE DISTANCE OF THE PITCHER'S MOUND. I'm sure no pitchers will get hurt that way. Also, the minor league extra innings rule is asinine and I will never watch a game again if they choose to go that route.
  17. You misread the article. The top team gets to pick their opponent.
  18. Manfred doing the impossible by making Selig look competent and sensible.
  19. Slightly more turns out to be cash in true Twins fashion.
  20. Can't wait to see who the other prospect is.
  21. Maeda helps win the division but doesn't help us beat the Yankees or Astros or any other good team in the postseason.
  22. Oh well. It's not like there were any starting pitchers available this offseason.
  23. Maeda is quite cheap for the next four years if the baseball ref salary is accurate. 3.125 mill each of the next four seasons?
  24. Honestly, I would bet we get Price for Buxton and whatever, instead of taking Syndergaard for him last year. Price, who is old, declining, and can't beat the Yankees.
