    I would prefer that anyway or at the very most two from each league. With so many teams making the playoffs this season it's difficult for me to give a crap about ANY of the games. It looks like Rocco is right there with me.

    Morneau is seemingly baffled why the Pirates are suddenly getting hits tonight, conveniently ignoring that it's Lewis Thorpe on the mound. Also, Rich Hill joins the list of players hurt.

    Polanco reminds me of playing the same role that Carlos Baerga did for the mid 90s Indians. Both are switch hitting middle infielders that don't walk a lot, don't strike out much, have good but not great power, but are just good hitters in the middle of great lineups. Both are decent but not great fielders at their respective positions and each will get near double digit stolen bases each full season. I looked it up and Polanco and Baerga's (Cleveland only) OPS are within two points of each other.

    Baseball is now like every other sport where the regular season does not matter. They should be getting rid of playoff teams, not adding them. They just want to make sure the Yankees, Red Sox, and Dodgers can make the playoffs even if they get off to slow starts.

    Why do we even care? Unless people are specifically not getting jobs because of their skin color I don't see a problem. Maybe blacks just prefer playing basketball or football? Maybe Hispanics prefer playing baseball and boxing? Maybe whites prefer baseball and hockey? It fits neatly into stereotypes but maybe that's just the way it is. Not everything appeals to every single person or group of people.

    And Rex's boisterous rambling does not fit well with Lefebvre's low-key approach. As far as Twins announcers, in order I like: Bert, Jack, Hawkins, Smalley, Morneau,Hunter I think Morneau has the most room for improvement but I prefer Bert's sarcasm and humor and Jack's angry old man routine. BTW, we all love Kaat but he basically says the same things as Bert and Morris. He just says it in a kind grandfatherly way.

    The team that lets their top pitchers pitch the most games will have an advantage. A throw away game with Smeltzer or someone to try and steal an extra day of rest for a starting pitcher could be a killer.
