  1. My thoughts exactly as I started reading this. And unless I missed it, was it ever stated by someone that they were going to do this again in 25? I
  2. Coaches and managers! I wasnt talking about players.
  3. I'm surprised more haven't jumped on the Falvey quote. I'm pretty sure Rocco didn't go in his office and say, hey Derek. I need Margot.
  4. He'll do his best? So he can get re-signed? And then what? Go back to being mediocre at best 👌 Every ML coach loves baseball. Thats why they do it.A prerequisite? Is that a question on the job application? Or does that question get asked during the face to face interview part?
  5. Just to piggyback this. On one of the Yankee blogs there was a lengthy article how it was an absolute must for them to trade for Correa. I didn't really pay attention to what they'd be offering in return. But on the comment side it was pretty much 50/50 from the fan perspective. 50% for and 50% against. The 50% against it were adamant. Main reason was the hatred from the sign stealing controversy.
  6. As secretive as they are regarding injuries, they are going to "leak talking points". Regarding a nothing transaction. Hell, I thought you'd be all over this one. With the acquisition of Gaspar, they're now free to rid themselves of Jeffers. Something you've been advocating for several years now. And now make Vasquez the primary catcher because the staff loves him so much and it's an upgrade over the last 2 years. Hey, while they're at it. Let's extend Vasquez so they don't lose him. And it might only cost 8 million for 26 and beyond. Money saved.
  7. What talk? You mean TD talk? Did I miss Rocco or Falvey mention that he has a real shot at coming North with the big club. It's all just speculation simply because the Twins haven't made any other moves. So Obviously this transaction suggests a real possibility for Caspar the mustachioed ghost.
  8. IMHO. Haha. Lot of data based information there. Lewis not at all happy with management might very well be true. I don't know. Or even some other players??? You've mentioned that several times now. Who are these players? Are you referring to when he said he was wearing down or getting tired from the long season and there were responses from teammates? I'm pretty sure Royce is better than that. The mental part is spot on. 90% of the games is half mental. Or something like that.
  9. I thumbs down certain aspects. It's ok to disagree. As far as optimism goes. I don't see them as being terrible. If you look at the Guardians collapse in 23 and their turnaround in 24 even after losing Bieber, I see some similarities. So I don't think they're as terrible as some say. I think they're better just by subtracting Margot and Farmer. If whoever takes over those roles gives them anything at all it'll be an improvement. Health will be a huge factor as it is every year for all teams.
  10. Not too sure about " throwaway year for the players, unless all they care about is stats" What does that mean? If you have 26 players who all they care about is personal stats. Wouldn't that equate to a good season if only half had career seasons? And if good play was as simple as turning on a switch to get a big contract, wouldn't every player do that all the time?
  11. Here a core, there a core, every where a core core. Sycamore poor pore. Have some more, iron ore on the floor. Shut that door.
  12. The Twins could have easily put a better package together if they had any interest in Luzardo. Obviously they didn't. Plus a catching prospect that is sorely needed after the 25 season. Wait and see. 😄
  13. I heard from a guy that knew a guy who heard from another guy that they don't like puppies.
  14. Really! He was asked a question. His response should be an easy answer. Along the line of. Yeah, sure. Other teams are inquiring about Correa. But we (the Twins) aren't even considering that as an option. Next question.
  15. And your answer to my point is dribble at best. Defend, and avoid. Politician or attorney speak
  16. You've been beating this drum for 2 years now. I don't believe that anyone is advocating that the Pohlad’s just go out and spend big dollars year after year. It's not sustainable even if you're a billionaire. I'm pointing out that they aren't very adept at making their product fun, and more affordable for the average person who makes the wheel turn. That's not going to fly. And no one wants to hear a Pohlad employee, St. Peter bad mouthing fans or not delivering on promises made for the quick and easy cash grab. Henry Ford wanted to keep producing the Model T. He KNEW what was BEST for the buying public. Even as he watched his market share dwindle. Rich people get things wrong too. But you keep fighting the good fight for them. Till they do an Irsay and roll out of town as the minions sleep. Another poster noted the jersey advertisement option. If they're losing money year after year, why aren't they getting some money from that? That's 7 figure dollars.
  17. It's the same old song. Defend defend and defend some more. Let's just sit back to wait and see. Then we'll sign a Luplow or who was the pitcher they got at the trade deadline? They're not cheap. They just buy at the dollar store. You get some really good deals there. Champagne dreams with a beer budget. Oh and there's no damn BAM money. Again. Plus less TV revenue. AGAIN. Season ticket sales lagging. Again. Seems to be a common theme here. I remember just this season. The Angels had 100,000 fans for a 3 game set vs the Twins. How? Not only are they cheap. They do a piss poor job of selling their product. And to do a comparison of how much they spend is ludicrous because 20 of the other 29 owners are cheap too.
  18. You're absolutely right. And that's where Baldelli and his strategy is to blame. He's made moves as early as the 1st inning but generally it's around the 5th inning. Then he'll sub in for his rh hitter to get at least 1 AB vs same handed hitters but often twice. Opposing managers don't have any issues with implementing game plans when they're playing the Twins. And I'm not putting all the blame on Rocco since this is an organizational MO.
  19. " he's not going to play centerfield and he's looked iffy in the outfield" That's a perfect fit. Answers all of Falvey and Baldellis needs and the constant TD posters whose response to anyone athletic. Hey just put him in the OF. He's not bad. He just needs more time out there. He'll figure it out.
  20. Well Teel is gone. Teams making moves. Moving prospects for needs. Twins??? Playing checkers
  21. WAR. How can Mookie Betts have a WAR of 8.3 in 2023 with hitting numbers very similar to Guerreros 2004 which garnered a 5.6? Or how can a pitcher accumulate an almost 9 WAR by appearing in. 25% of the games played? I don't care how it's measured. Ichiro was a great defender. Guerrero had a good arm too but I'm sure 2004 Vlad wasn't as good. Suzuki is the one who should have been MVP.
