  1. I think people really want new ownership. After 15 years in Target Field, Twins fans have seen Pohlad ownership isn't serious about ever contending for a World Championship. They have had good players in that run, even a hall of famer, and would never add a piece or do what it took to take a step towards winning a World series whether that was financially or trading prospects. There is no fixing the relationship between the Pohlads as Twins ownership and the fans. They have family that openly disdain the Twins and Twins fans reportedly. I don't see a fix from that going forward. I know for this year, a lot are done buying tickets.
  2. A big signal to the fans they are serious about competing would be to not trade Pablo Lopez, Joe Ryan you need starting pitching that can pitch more than five innings. Second don't trade Byron Buxton, unless he asks to go because he can still be a cornerstone of a winning franchise with his defense. Those are core guy's that can help you win. Number two would be rebuilding g the bullpen. Trading guys like Louise Varland and Griffin Jax made zero sense and still makes no sense. Have to identify another group, I like Sands, Topa and Funderburk now but that is only 3 out of 10 guys you need. Have to figure out from the outfielders the group of Outman, Wallner, Larnach, et. all if any of them are a part of a future winning team or if you start to move on with guys like Jenkins, Gonzalez, Rosario if they are the guys to play moving forward. Twins have a hole at first base with early retirement of Kirloff, have tried plugging with veterans like France and Santanna both were OK to good players on defense. This team needs a first basemen. Clemmons is a urility guy like Castro was. Team has no true consistent hitter at DH. Had a hole at DH since Cruz. Would like to see them start playing with some of the younger guy's in Outfield and bullpen rest of the season. To me it doesn't even make sense even in losing season in September to be wasting at bats on players not apart of the future, that are 28, 29 or 30 years old. We do not need a third catcher. After Jeffers we need another catcher. Once the minor league season is about over make some changes for the last 3 weeks and give some other people a chance that played well in the minors. Just standing past with current group not ideal situation. I would like to see some youth starting to be given chances in bullpen and outfield roles. It's tough to identify what the rebuilding plan really is. If Pablo and Joe Ryan want out not sure where you go. Starting rotation after Pablo got hurt and Joe Ryan last year tanked.
  3. My first Twins Out'y awards in honor of James Outman's flying squirrel bunt to the Chicago first basemen last night. 1. First Out'y nooky is awarded to Joe Pohlad for claiming in March 2024 the Twins needed to "right size payroll". Crushing team momentum and starting franchise down turn. He get's an honorable "out'y" for announcing a sale of the Twins franchise in 2024 then pulling a switcheroo, reneging on that 2024 quote and just taking on minority partners this season. 2. My second Twins "Out'y" nomination goes to Derek Falvey. He has been here nine years and is the definition of starting on third base and failure to be driven in by a sacrifice fly to score a run. His drafts, his trades, his players. This conglomerate of Twins players doesn't even have the excuse of being young like the 1982 Twins who were playing players above there level and had the excuse of an owner looking to sell the franchise or relocate it. Falvey has brought us Twins greats like Josh Donaldson who was great at bat flips and trying to start fights at home plate. Now we have Matt Wallner the new Joey Gallo who strikes out like Gallo, hits solo home runs like Gallo but doesn't run as fast as Gallo. Not a clean up hitter or a leadoff guy but alas he has placed in both spots in Rocco Balldell line-up. Falve'y get's another Out'y for trading away almost the entire 2025vbullpen for Post Trade Deadline AL Worst 5.29 ERA and a collection of prospects like the man of hour Outman that may have cool hair, but are a collection of change in your car or couch cushions. 3. 3RD honorable nooky and "out'y" of course is Rocco. This nooky awarded to Rocco Baldelli he get's his "out'y" for insisting on needing a 3rd catcher on the roster and this keeping Mickey Gasper on the roster. A line-up last night that had one player capable of winning a championship, continued errors in the field and baffling base running mistakes. That and the flying squirrel bunt to first base. 4. Royce Lewis, he get's an "out'y" for talking about personal hitting statistics and arbitration to the newspaper. You may think it outloud, but don't say that stuff to the press. That is nooky worthy and a golden "out'y" for Royce having diarrhea of the mouth, on a subject not to brag about. 5. The man the myth the legend, James Outman. Impressive as the flying squirrel bunt may have been in theory trying to catch them off guard the execution was not Moose and Squirrel worthy execution. The collection of running near the wall and mis-playing the ball off the wall or throwing to the wrong base and missing the cut off guy while visually impressive is not sound baseball. I have to ask, how was this Outman ever a Dodger. Who is your "Out'y" awarded to winners of the year? In Reusse fashion Turkey I would say after nine years Falvey get's the grand poobah "out'y" of year award. I'll take an L for bitching about Gasper in the game threads too much. It is not his fault the Twins are not very good, it's a collective effort from ownership on down. That and for poor writing style and imitation.
  4. Thomas Hatch may challenge for that title. We have the law firm of Larry, Mo, and Curly represented by Hatch, Davis and Kriske three guys that even the fans see should not be pitching for the Twins.
  5. Twins are now the worst team and franchise in baseball. Forget the prospect hype because everyone comes to the Twins and stagnate's with this coaching staff. Nobody develops, no position players, no starting pitching, bullpen is a cast of castoffs. It's a rudderless franchise with no clear direction of any sort. Just a sorry boat of indifference.
  6. Genesis Cabrera and Brooks Kriske need to be DFA's by tomorrow.
  7. Hopefully this is last time Kriske pitches for Twins.
  8. Kansas City and Twins had a similar record at trade deadline. Twins dumped 11 players and the Royals added players and now have 70 wins and now only 2 back in Wold Card. Instead of adding help Twins dumped there whole bullpen. It just an interesting comparison to the approaches each franchise took at the trade deadline. Twins hopeless and the Royals are surging. Sucks to be our fanbase.. Twins ownership is the skids and the shits having the Pohlads as owners. The outfielders we got back in trade look like dregs and non-contributors. Twins now look like one of worst franchises in baseball. We have a crappy front off8ce and not great situation in the clubhouse. Our trade deadline approach by Twins was lousy.
  9. Bailey Ober fought through the game and battled, he didn't have his best stuff, but he kept Twins in the game too.
  10. When he smacks a ball it goes a long way. Maybe Wallner is healthy now. Thought the base running was gonna do them in.
  11. Winnah winnah chicken dinner. Gasper had a night. Good for Mickey!
  12. Me no like this half of inning so far. Im walking Guerrero. Im not giving him anything.
  13. Springer has always been a thorn against Twins. Even when he was with Astros he torched them.
  14. Topa seems a lot more focused doing this end of bullpen stuff than he was as a middle relief guy. At least lately. I like his sweeper. Corey just said Twins after trailing after 8 innings Twins are 1 for 57.
  15. So who is closing here, Topa? He is last guy that finishes now right.
  16. All be damned, cows jumped over the moon. Good job by Gasper!
  17. I want to see Lee play 3rd base too, I don't think Lewis fits anywhere on this team. Maybe you get someone to take a flyer on Lewis from 2 years ago. I know he is injury prone so hoping for a lottery ticket. I know the value is extremely low. Gonna be hard to move him.
  18. He runs like a deer with a broken leg.
  19. I would like to see Royce Lewis traded, but I'm probably the minority opinion on that.
  20. Wow this team stinks in just about all categories of baseball. How do you build from this collection of misfit toys?
