  1. The Twins Joe Pohlad and Derek Falvey, went to the toilet paper aisle at Target, held there hand up between the one roll Scott tissue, and the 4 pack of Angel Soft TP and they pondered. You know the only TP left on the shelf during the Pandemic, the two brands of TP nobody wanted. They together settled on the single roll of Scott tissue because even 1 roll cheap, it was the smaller investment to hire this manager choice.
  2. You guys know the clearance bin of misfit junk and damaged product at dollar stores. We already know Twins will be cutting payroll this Winter like that damaged goods bin. Worst part about it, is now the organization will get gutted. They will get fleeced in any trade they make because all the other GM's know the Twins Pohlads are looking to unload any and all larger contracts. The Twins will be like discontinued junk rack at Cub foods.
  3. I purchased a 20 game package last season. With this hiring of Shelton, I will not be buying 1 ticket to a Twins game this 2026 season. Cancelling Twins TV too. I'm not the only fan that will quit the Twins. Thank you Derek Falvey, you got us to this point where there is zero optimism left and nothing but doom and gloom and you up and doubled down on it.
  4. Predictability, and boring, this team and organization needs fire and a kick in the pants. As much as I dislike LNP, even he would have been a better choice. This is epitome of the, dullness, and staleness of Twins organization. This Twins team is now worse in talent and effort then the White Sox. They have nothing to sell or market. The cupboard is bare. Watching the World Series makes you realize how very far the Twins MLB club has fallen.
  5. Stuck in the mud with the Pohlads as owners, Twins fans the dwindling one's of us that are left, will be even fewer. Prepare to have the absolute smallest home attendance in team history. You couldn't sell 3 dollar tickets to this already jilted fanbase. This 2026 season will be worse than studio baseball days.
  6. Mediocre hire. The payroll resources are the same as constrained as the rotten Pirates ownership, except they have much better pitching, so why would his record, Shelton, be any different here in Minnesota as it was in Pittsburgh. I mean you picked Rocco Baldelli over Derek Shelton in 2018, Baldelli the manager you just fired. Make it make sense, you just hired the guy you passed over last go round. This is typical Twins ownership, Instead of rolling dice you pick a guy as your next manager that you said no to, and failed miserably in Pittsburgh. . This is the easy choice and a real thud. Twins are a slow, stale, boring and uninspired organization. Leave it to the Pohlads to go boring and cheap. I wanted to believe they would take a risk and give someone new a chance, instead they chose the stale loaf of bread. Twins do the same thing every draft to, take the easiest signability guy because it is simple to do. Say hello to dead last place record in American league baseball, it is already set in stone we will be worse than the White Sox. This team has 95 losses written all over it. Falvey is a lousy leader, you want people that are better than you and draw the best outcome from people, that is not Derek Falvey and Joe Pohlad.
  7. Agreed I want Rowson as the next Twins manager. This and I think Rowson will put together a really good coaching staff. A lot of positives in hiring Rowson.
  8. I'm hoping for Rowson, I think Buxton and Lewis and Brooks Lee would be inspired to new levels with James Rowson as manager. That and now that Rowson worked for the Yankees he has good contacts in baseball to hire a really good coaching staff. I want to see some positive energy going in to next season.
  9. If LNP is hired, I will not be buying any Twins tickets as a fan. Last thing we need is a roster full of LNP type players that cannot hit polluting the roster. Bad enough we had to endure Gasper batting clean up in 2025. No thank you.
  10. Outside of Shelton, have any candidates been mentioned that have past managerial experience? Heck if your gonna interview Nick Punto you might as well interview Mike Redmond and Brian Dinkleman too, they are former Twins too.
  11. Why is the media feeding this false narrative that Punto was an extremely popular Twins player. He was not, he was a symptim of Twins playoff failure. Punto would not be a popular choice.
  12. I understand the trepidation and hesitancy, but Rownson has coached for three other franchises with success developing younger hitters. Who is still on the Twins that Rowson coached? Buxton that is it. I think Buxton would flourish under Rowson as manager. He, Rowson has been with the Marlins, Tigers, Yankees and has done a good job with younger hitters on those teams. Our best season in hitting in recent memory is the Bomba squad of 2019. I think Rowson had a really good impact on the Twins from 2017 to 2019. I want a manager that has some familiarity with Twins organization, but will also push the team and hold the hitters accountable. The Guardians had success hiring a fist time manager that doesn't fit the mold of somebody already tried in MLB. We need a manager that will get the best effort out of guy's like Wallner, Brooks Lee and Royce Lewis and Byron Buxton. I believe James Rowson can be that manager that pushes the right buttons from line-up's, pinch hitting, to bullpen usage.
  13. I saud it was a reach. I also think with the CBA he would sign a one year deal with an option that would be player declined because of the end of CBA being up.
  14. Would not mind seeing the Twins take a run at Cody Bellinger from the Yankees for first base. I know it is a reach but he would be a good fit in the line-up and defensively at a glaring weakness for the Twins. Would being veteran and post season experience to the roster. Prefer to see Clemmons move to more of a utility Willie Castro like role.
  15. James Rowson, could he be a candidate for Twins manager? Yankees hitting coach. Twins had one of their better hitting approach as a team in 2019 when Rowson was here. Still relatively young. I would not mind seeing the Twins interview him gor the managers role. I think he would build a string MLB staff. Think he would make a good choice as manager for the Twins.
  16. I liked David Bell as Reds manager, good baseball guy and manager. Would not mind seeing the Twins hire Bell.
  17. Giants interviewed Kurt Suzuki for their managerial position. Was always impressed with Kurt as Twins catcher. Wonder if the Twins will interview him. He seems like he would be well prepared to be a manager. Cleveland had success hiring Voght.
  18. When do they announce the actual roster cuts, off the 40 man roster and the non-tendered players?
  19. Hale was Francona's bench coach not Maddon. I think Hale did a good job with Cleveland last year, had them playing well.
  20. Steal from the Guardiand lineage and Blue Jays. Demarlo Hale because he learned from one of the best in Terry Francona. Hale would unlock the secret to beating Cleveland, probably already has good knowledge of Twins being he was the Guardians acting manager. It's outside the organization and not an obvious selection.
  21. I wish Rocco Baldelli well in his future endeavors. I want to try what Cleveland did hiring Steven Voght as manager. How about seeing if AJ Pierzynski as manager of the Twins?
  22. The reality is ownership has been a disaster in public relations, communicating about the media rights deal and the team not hardly being available on television the last three seasons. They said they were gonna do something unique with streaming and television. Then they pull the rug and sign a media rights deal with RSN Balley's, now fan duel TV two season's in a row where a bunch of people in the market didn't have access to watching the games whether it was Comcast or other cable and streaming services. Then fan duel tv boots them, drops them reducing revenue. Local TV rights and distribution have been a mess losing fans. The managing partner Joe Pohlad makes the right size the payroll comments to the media in 2024 and they suddenly have to slash 39 million. Now they have slashed another 30 to 40 million payroll and lokk like they are gonna gitg more. Pohlad ownership has been there own worst enemy with the fans and potential ticket buyers. When your out of site and out of mind for half your potential viewership from television you kill your in stadium customer base. Unlike the old days television is the largest marketing asset you have in development of customers. I mean honestly the ticket prices and in stadium, pricing for concessions is some of the best in the market, yet ownership has alienated a lot of their customer base with botched television rights deals, and now the Twins app, which has really reduced potential revenue. We thought we were gonna get something with Amazon. Now baseball has Apple TV, Roku game of the week, the whole MLB TV situation a mess for smaller and mid market teams. Brewers and Cleveland are a lot better run franchises right now. Ownership should look in the mirror they are the reason they are not making money on Twins product. Nobody has ever said you must be a 200 million dollar payroll team, nobody has those expectations. Just do a good job of putting a competitive entertaining team together. Twins have been dull, boring, and flat style of play two years in a row. They if there not gonna sell need to self assess who's running the team. I will give Joe credit on stadium operations and game day experience, it's good value and fair pricing. On the baseball product and TV it's been a total fail the last two seasons. MLB really needs to figure out a fair distribution of TV and radio rights and revenue between all their teams.
  23. I know but we seem stuck with Pohlads as owners. They live in the community, the puff pieces in Star Tribune I think were to put a face on ownership. I don't really care about the behind the scene stuff of ownership, just that the team starts drafting and developing better talent. I mean 9 of the last 15 years have been lost season's on players development and a draft perspective. A lot more misses than hit's. Falvey hasn't been a great stewardship in his role. Trades for pitching beyond Pablo Lopez have not really panned out. Falvey was supposed to be able to be good at identifying pitching. They traded off there 3 best bullpen assets in Duran, Jax, Varland.
  24. Why does Falvey get to keep his job when he constructed a major league roster full of slow, slump prone streaky hitters with no consistency in approach or talent levels? How can you blame it all on the manager when the guy constructing the roster has had poor drafts and recently overhauled the roster for a bunch of un-proven talent and minor league cast-offs?
  25. I think that is likely. I could see Rocco getting another managerial job, he needs a team with more veterans., not a development team.
