  1. Sorry everyone. I can't post because I started throwing up all over my phone after reading the title.
  2. Guess it doesn't matter if you've already given up on the season. I haven't. I want them to make the wild card game and win it. I doubt this team can win a divisional round, but it will be fun to watch.
  3. You do know they get to choose who they take of the 40 man.... Right?
  4. This is seriously an issue? Finding a spot on the ****ing 40 man for one of the best pitching prospects in baseball? Incredulous. I really can't get behind any of the decisions Terry Ryan makes at the major league level. Berry is in AAA right now is ridiculous in its own right.
  5. Jorge used to be my adopt a prospect. I think he has a good shot to make it, but I'm not sure how much upside he has. This is certainly an encouraging year for him.
  6. When hicks comes back it will be good to give buxton a few days off to clear his head. He isn't looking like a fool at the plate, just looks off. Hopefully it doesn't turn into sporadic playing time in favor of Hunter. Going forward even with buxton struggling now, I think the odds of him adding more value to the team is better.
  7. Be should very much be on the block. I like Plouffe a lot, and have championed him since he led the eastern league in doubles as a ss. He should have a good amount of value around the league. Mauer is the problem. He has been bad without signs of coming out of it. He is still young enough where he could turn it around, but nobody should hold their breath. It makes matters a lot more complicated. When you think about how much better the roster would be with Plouffe at 3rd and Sano at 1st... makes it frustrating. I could see a world where Plouffe is kept and turned into super utility guy. That isn't the best use of his talent, but it makes for a better 25 man roster. Would allow Hicks to sit against all rh pitching.
  8. The notion that he is sulking after this long is disingenuous to an elite athlete. Every time he has been sent to aaa he has crushed. Every. Single. Time. Except this one. His numbers aren't even bad, they are horrible. Arcia has the type of talent that doesn't just disappear. Even just going through the motions he should be posting an 800 ops in aaa. Something is wrong. Maybe the twins have tampered with his swing. Maybe his hip is still an issue. Maybe he is doing it on purpose to get on with a new team next year. Something is going on, and I have a feeling the twins are going to see him killing it for another team next year.
  9. He almost has to be hurt. He's had so much success in his pro career, that this collapse is completely unprecedented. Arcia is stubborn, and emotional, but he is also a very good hitter. Hopefully they can figure out what's going on before he crushes 30 hr for a different organization.
  10. I'd much rather they trade Mauer and put Sano at 1b... but that likely isn't going to happen. Maybe the Rockies will trade contracts and take Mauer for Reyes...
  11. You guys all read adult stuff. I just can't get into that type material. I'm not into sentimental stuff, anything about war, or cool experiences. Just seems too dry. If I wanted dry, I would just get back into my Calc based Statistics book or a new Physics book. I like reading young adult. I finished the Divergent Series and wasn't impressed. Currently I'm reading a book called Legend and at about half way through have enjoyed it a lot. The problem I have with young adult, is the reading level is a little frustrating sometimes. I read them for the story, and to be in a different world. I liked the Mortal Instruments books a lot, for an example. I would like to read more adult books like this, but don't want to go super nerd like Star Wars (sorry Brock lol). Any recommendations?
  12. Concur with 86. If I had to guess, my guess is the rangers. However, any of the teams in the hunt could get it done. Should be a fun end to the season.
  13. The better discussion will be next season about who is better; sano or Bryant. It is going to be fun screaming at my phone while reading some stupid espn article saying despite the numbers, Bryant is better.
  14. I liked aj, and he has had a great career. Joe had a hall of fame career going. I just wish he would have stayed at catcher. Easy for me to say though, it's not my brain.
  15. I'm so pumped about Duffey! This guy is a converted closer, with an organization that has no successful history doing it, he wasn't nationally known, been under the radar his entire pro career. Talk about an underdog. Thing is, kid is for real. Has life on his fb, good control, filthy breaking pitch, and a change that is coming along. Look at what Kluber did with Cleveland, under the radar guys can still succeed in this league.
  16. Why would you want a guy like him? What has he accomplished? He inherited a world series roster. Now they are terrible. I would pass.
  17. Nice showing by the dangerous duo! I think having them together will push them to be better. Is there a pitch count somewhere? I'm curious to see how many each threw. Looking through Stewart's game log, one of his strike outs was in a key spot. Likely saved him at least a run.
  18. Nice start indeed. Thanks for the link. About time to move up a 21yo college prospect from rookie ball?
  19. Yes. I'm confident I can do a better job than he has. I don't think this job is easy, but it takes a different personality to do it well. I will never be given the opportunity, so it's pretty much a moot point. More than anything, I believe a gm is like a CEO. Getting the most out of the talent you have, and recruiting the best talent. In my view, he has failed to unimaginable levels.
  20. Well, coincidently hicks has done drastically better lately bringing those numbers up. Anyway, I trust Rosario a little more than hicks at this point. I get that he doesn't walk much, so his value is in his hit tool. Luckily, he has always had a high babip. On the other hand, if hicks doesn't falter.... The twins have a back up plan for Buxton and a young cf to trade. I imagine with a strong start to 2016 he would have more value than revere did, and maybe as much as span when he was traded. I don't think a year between aaa and mlb would be blasphemous for Kepler. In fact, if the twins want to make a run the more talent they have in October the better. Either way, he still needs to play everyday.
  21. These bad contacts are starting to pile up. To me, that is why you spend money on elite players, like Mauer was. Paying for mediocrity is dumb, because it's easy to find. Hughes shouldn't have been extended, Suzuki either, or Pelfrey (although he has pitched well and might still get traded). The Nolasco signing has been a disaster. Luckily, a few bad contacts can be overcome.
  22. Ahhh, I lost my post. Now I have to go through this again. I think the argument here is that he is a "legitimate" prospect. To that statement, I couldn't disagree more. Sure, he has had a nice few months bringing his AVG up. But AVG is a small part of a hitter. His ISO is nearly stagnant, which suggests he isn't hitting the ball any better than he was early, just that more hits are falling. As a comparison, lets look at Nick Gordon, and his progress this season. April .267 .305 .347 15K 4BB .08 ISO May .204 .305 .233 23K 13BB .029 ISO June .293 .370 .341 11K 8BB .048 ISO July .309 .349 .423 19K 7BB .114 ISO August .358 .393 .509 7K 3BB .149 ISO I realize Gordon is a top draft pick, and considered a better prospect. My point isn't to compare the two, rather, the progression. As you can see, Gordon has shown some amazing progress through the year. Most importantly, his plate discipline and ISO increase with his AVG. So not only is he getting more hits, he is driving more balls. Vielma still could have a future in the MLB. There are tons of examples of guys like him that hit just enough while playing excellent defense to stick around. His move to AA next year will be a pretty good test for him.
  23. I'm guessing he starts in AAA next season and forces his way up when Hicks has a sub-700 OPS by mid-May. At this point, Buxton and Rosario are pretty much locks and Hicks has played well enough to earn a starting spot for 2016. I don't think Hicks will be able to hold on to it though.
  24. I remember it. I do remember the same conclusion as well. I believe it came to light when Revere was in rf. I recall the same conclusion, but I don't think Gardy deserves credit for the decision to put Revere there. I don't remember who presented the data, just reading it.
  25. I'm not disputing the advances Hicks had made, simply that he is more deserving of playing time in CF than Buxton. I think Hicks still has a chance to be nice CF for a team. His splits are just so incredibly drastic, that it would be difficult for me to hand over RF to him in 2016 with a back-up option. However, I assume Kepler is that option so the Twins are set. Hicks has improved against RHP this season, and that is encouraging. If he has a nice year going at the deadline next year maybe he can be flipped for something of value to a team in need of a CF. I don't however, believe he should be getting in the way of Buxton's playing/development time in CF for the rest of this season. Buxton proved he is healthy in AAA, that should be good enough.
