    There’s no reason not to challenge that where the difference could be a run (and the game). If you lose the challenge, who cares? It’s very unlikely you’re going to get a chance with more on the line than that.

    I have a hard time believing he will ever be on the Twins Major League roster again. They aren’t going to remove Miranda, Garlick, Larnach, Celestino or Gordon to make room for him. If they can’t trade him by the time his rehab stint is supposed to end, I believe they will DFA him. He won’t be back next year and there’s nothing he can do that the others listed above can’t already provide. It’s time to move on.

    If that’s as bad as I fear it is, Lewis will be starting at third for the rest of the year when he gets back. Edit: My fears are unfounded, thankfully.

    Darn, if only there was something Max could’ve done to prevent this. Oh well, can’t be helped. Disclaimer: This is not at all about the effectiveness of the vaccine. It’s about the Canadian government not allowing anyone into their country who hasn’t had one. Max knew this rule, and he made the decision to not comply with it. He doesn’t get to complain about the team not being together.

    Major League Baseball is reaching towards mid-90s NHL level of awfulness at marketing their product. A Shohei Ohtani 20 to 25 years ago would’ve been by far the biggest story in North American professional sports. But in 2022, the nation collectively really doesn’t care.

    We almost had Lewis back up again and not the way we wanted.

    If he can’t play through it every day, then IL him until he can. Would you rather him miss nearly half of the remaining games this year or miss 10 to 15 consecutive days so he can play the vast majority of the next four months?

    If Buxton is too injured to even make an appearance every other day, then put him on IL until he can play every day.
