Let’s remember some Bert-isms. Dick: “Today is national left handed day. And in honor of that, I’ve done everything today with my left hand.” Bert: “...everything?” Dick: “So did you ever run out of gas while on the mound?” Bert: “Oh I always had gas. My problem is that I never ran out.” Dick: “One of your nicknames was Dr. Hook. Was that because of your curveball!” Bert: “Probably...unless they saw me in the shower.” Dick: “Never have I wanted a Twins player to hit into an inning ending double play more than I do now.”
Next 13 games are against the Tigers and White Sox, teams that are actively trying to lose. I don’t know about your expectations, but I feel it would be a disappointment if we didn’t go at least 9-4 over those 13 games.
10-2 lead in the 6th tonight: Nice and relaxed and can probably go to bed in a half hour. 10-2 lead in the 6th against the Yankees: Can’t sit still, this game is far from over! Need another beer!
Last night could be one of those season defining losses if the team allows it to happen. We’ve seen it before with other teams. Remember Thome’s walk off against the White Sox in 2010? That happened on August 8th? The White Sox may not of lost the division that day, but we all know that emotionally they did. It was all over for them after that. We can’t let that happen here.
Somewhere near St. Cloud, some jackass sporting a mullet and a Megadeth t-shirt is telling everyone he knows that this is all solely because Joe Mauer is no longer on the team.
Two games into the season and I’m already mad. Besides the obvious wild pitches, I was screaming “BUNT!” at my radio to Kepler. I can’t believe you wouldn’t try to sacrifice Buxton, the fastest guy in baseball, over to 3rd.
