    I have no faith that Ryan and Pablo will be on the team next year. Buxton will be the only player on the 26 man roster in 2026 on a multi year deal and it will only be because they can’t trade him. Expect next season to be the first time in Target Field history that a game gets less than 10,000 in announced attendance. If 2026 is awful, the good news is that you’ll likely have to wait until 2028 to see Twins baseball again.

    With one day to go, we now know exactly 50% of the ballots. Beltre 99.0% Mauer 82.9% Helton 82.4% Wagner 78.2% Sheffield 74.6% Jones 70.5% According to the people who monitor the stuff year in and year out, most players at the top will have some degree of drop off once the announcement is made. Amongst the batch of unrevealed ballots are typically the writers who believe in the small hall philosophy as well as the blank ballots. No revealed ballots so far have been blank, and I think only a couple ballots have had only two players. So right now the only player certain to get in is Beltre, with Mauer’s chances being very very good but not a lock. They aren’t too bullish on Helton making it because there still are some writers out there who haven’t revealed their ballots yet and did not vote for Helton last year, so he’s basically a coin flip. Wagner, Sheffield and Jones will probably fall short again.

    Just booked air, car and hotel for Albany. I’m confident at this point Mauer will get the votes so might as well get ahead of it before everyone else starts to book right after the announcement. Never been to Cooperstown, so seeing a player whom I’ve watched virtually every at bat they took at the big league level get inducted is the perfect time to do it. Going to bring my 71 year old mom, who got me into loving baseball and the Twins. It will be a highlight of her life.

    I swear if the balloting was made up of only casual Twins fans, Mauer wouldn’t come close to getting in. The excuses I’ve seen fans make to not want him in the hall of fame seem endless. - He wasn’t clutch in the playoffs - His team was bad for much of his time there (Guess Mike Trout ain’t getting in either) - The team got good the moment he retired - He hit into so many double plays (93rd all time and most of the players above him are or will be hall of famers. GIDP’s will happen when you have a long career and put the ball in play as much as he did) - He was a singles hitter (dismissive wanking motion) - He wasn’t a team player (WTF does that even mean?) - His only good year was his contract year and he stopping caring when he got the contract (are you people hearing yourselves!?!?) And yes, some of them are still so mad that he got that contract even though a Joe Mauer in his prime today would command way way more money than what he got back in 2009.

    Lots of stuff in the link. But as far as it relates to the Twins: Dave St. Peter confirmed that they will not be on Bally Sports North next season. They were offered a one year extension and the Twins turned it down. St. Peter said they’ve have plenty of interest from other tv companies on getting the team on their airwaves.     That’s the fifth grand slam for the Dodgers this season. For comparison, the Twins have seven singles with the bases loaded. That’s it.

    For those at home, during the anthem, they released a bald eagle, and instead of going to its handler, it decided to perch on a Mariners player. And he looked terrified.

    Yep, that last inning shows how stupid it is to be upset by that. There's no clock in baseball, and crooked numbers can happen in a hurry. You play to the end, especially when the other team is doing everything it can to stop you. And if I'm a manager, my lefties are having lots of practice in spring training learning how to bunt the opposite way, because that's exactly what they would be doing if the defense puts an extreme shift on them.
