  1. That was a great well pitched game. Thank you MLB channel. It makes you appreciate Dick and Bert. The Card announcers were sooooooooooooooooo boring !
  2. I wouldn't give up anything for a guaranteed World Championship. The games are the things that are important to me. The players are the thing that is important. The good players the good plays. The bad players and the dropped balls. Even Aaron Hicks. It is the season that is important. The story that the season tells. The thrill of watching Buxton running the bases or the agony of watching Joe strike out. The story is the thing and I would never trade it for a guaranteed World Series Triumph. Never.
  3. I wish the Pohlads would work a deal with Mauer, so that he could retire and become a part owner of the Twins. This way Mauer could leave gracefully while his Hall of Fame credentials are still partially intact.
  4. The ball was over his head and the win was blowing, but he got to it. Maybe few outfielders would have gotten to that ball, but Hicks did and then he dropped it. An OF needs to go and get balls, but then he also has to catch the balls he gets to. Hicks made an error at a key point in the game. That is the sign of a screwed up player, The most troubling part is that the next day, he withdraws himself from the lineup. Once more Hicks has proven himself to be a screwed up young man. He does not have the character needed to play big league ball.
  5. this seems to me like the first of many moves to come. We can only hang on, watch and enjoy.
  6. As soon as the Twins drop below .500, they should call up Buxton and bat him 3rd, and Sano and bat him 4th. They will struggle. They may not do as well as Mauer and Plouffe, but we fans would love to see it.
  7. I watch each game expecting a good pitching performance from the starter. Even Gibson, after giving up the 3 run Home Run, went on to pitch well into the 7th. He gave the Twins a chance to come back. These starters are fun to watch, especially Pelfrey.
  8. If I were GM, I would quit, knowing that I am equipped to do the job of being GM.
  9. Lookout All-Stars = the 2017 Minnesota Twins.
  10. Trading Arcia for pitching is not a good idea. Never trade an everyday player for a pitcher. We traded Span for Meyer, and how is that working out. Trading Revere for May & Worley was a better trade and May is starting to do well... but Span and Revere have been producing since the trade and May is just now giving us results. 2 years from now, Span and Revere will still be hitting and who knows what May and Meyer will be doing.
  11. either he will be good or he won't be good. We go out on a limb with our predictions. I predict a .300 career BA and a borderline Hall of Fame candidate by the end of his career.
  12. For the 2017 Twins lineup look at the current Chattanooga Lookouts. We could do worse
  13. I'm Panicking ! I'm Panicking !
  14. what if Milone pitches 7 inn and gives up 2 runs or less ? do they send him back down ?
  15. Games are played on the field by real people. Stats are collected by stat-heads that forget that cumulative stats do NOT equal real played games. We can only watch and enjoy (or hate) each game as it is played and let the BaseRuns stats be collected. At the end of the season we can debate their appropriateness for explaining the first 2 months of the season.
  16. Good! Underrate the Twins. Please. Let us sneak up on you and surprise you. Win Twins.
  17. and Joe has hit into the most Double Plays of any Twin. I agree. There has been a change in his approach.
  18. I am confused about the importance of isolated discipline so I found this thread. http://www.baseball-fever.com/showthread.php?58742-What-does-Isolated-Discipline-mean
  19. No No No No No No ... a thousand times NO ! Let them go to a 4 man rotation first. There is no reason to give them an extra day off so that they lose their sharpness and control. NO NO NO NO NO!!!
  20. Watching May pitch, for me, is an exercise in holding my breath. I am never comfortable until he has made the 3rd out.
  21. I think Santana is more likely to be sent down to AAA than Polanco being promoted to AAA. The Twins have to figure out who their SS of the future will be.
  22. Trade Hicks as soon as Buxton is brought up. Get rid of him while his value is highest. We know he doesn't have the character to be a quality big league player. Of course, I would be happy to be proven wrong, but i doubt it will happen.
  23. Perkins ! Only Perkins unless Dozier were to bat above 300 with 5 or more HR thru June.
  24. The Twins have had a bunch of games in a row where they scored first. When they get back to the normal routine of giving up first runs mixed with scoring first runs, it will be interesting to see how well they come back, after falling behind. Last year we learned to keep watching when the Twins fell behind. They never quit, even though they often fell far behind. Molitor commented on that "never quit" attitude and he counts on it to continue this year. If the Twins can establish a pattern of coming back to win those games about 1/2 the time, the Twins shouldl continue to play .500 + ball.
