  1. Nope. Popped it up in foul territory. 3 outs.
  2. And Dozier gets another chance to be a World Series hero in the bottom of the 9th. A single will do.
  3. Buxton started the year healthy and the hope was the last two months of 2017 would carry over. He sucked in 2018 until he got hurt, and then he got hurt and sucked. Lots of players hit well for a couple of months in the show. Even Danny Santana for more than 2 months. Buxton really needs to perfrom now. It is really past time to do his thing, if it is going to happen.
  4. June 8, 2015 Tyler Jay #6 Andrew Benintendi #7 Walker Buehler #24 Sigh........
  5. Me too (no hashtag). I wouldnt' really expect the old farts (older than 50) to necessarily be progressive and innovative enough to actually do something so very important for communication these days, but young, evolved, aware, and smart people that want to be great managers and coaches going forward.... I would think it would be part of their canon.
  6. I like a guy with a goodfellas first name and that wears his hair upside down. Looking forward to 90 and 100 wins seasons starting NEXT YEAR!
  7. I surprises me that a guy with a 4.25 GPA with Ivy league schools a possibility.... hasn't learned to speak Spanish fluently in the last 8 years.... I guess it surprises me that anyone that wants to manage or coach in the MLB now hasn't, or isn't in the process of learning Spanish now.
  8. Counting "likes" now? Perfect qualification for admission in a jr high girl's school....... But I don't know.... they might require previous experience.
  9. We? Us? Do they all know what "a Chicken-Soup-Is-Goo-For-The-Soul franchise" means? I can't even find it on google!
  10. I read the 'players' referred to here as the ones traded for, not our guys traded..... the new aquisitions, not the Doziers and Escobars..... ?? The new minor league prospects.... they care. I could be wrong.....
  11. 'Tis true. And....... it sometimes takes years for the aquisition to be considered valuable. And on some teams, career league average is even considered valuable, especially on the end of a career 2/3 year above that average.
  12. It doesn't matter who you use, and Sickels was just the opinion de jour, with its own thread today. Pipeline is fine, too. Fangraph's.... whatever. Ben Noble's opinion is just as valid, in my opinion. Maciel was considered the prize of the trade by some. I thought "But we all have opinions....." coverered the multitude of opinions and included them. I have a hard time getting excited about mid level prospects, of which, probably, most will never make it out of the minors. Lots of those is still not much, unless you just like minor leauge ball, which is a lot of fun. To each its own.
  13. Congrats! one out of 3. Not bad.... apparently even the best. Duran not even in the top 21 according to Sickels, and a C+ grade. But we all have opinions..... https://www.minorleagueball.com/2018/10/23/18002156/minnesota-twins-top-20-prospects-for-2019
  14. Hmmmmm. Garver was on the TD prospect list almost all year and most of that he was on the Twins. Fuzzy limits it appears.
  15. I guess Fernando Romero is not in the Twins system anymore? Did I miss something? 55.2 innings in the show but buried in Rochester, and he graduated?
  16. By the way..... without looking it up..... anyone...... exactly who did the Twins get for Escobar? No looking it up! Exactly.
  17. .... and he plays outfield well, something Escobar is horrible at.
  18. Marwin Gonzalez is the player to get to replace him. Comparable bat and even more versatile.
  19. Here, here! Even Twins' fans seam to pretend cheaters are acceptable. That is not name calling, it is a historical reference. Very recent history, at that.
  20. There is no core. No core 2, no core 3, no core 4, no core anything. Maybe at the end of next year this can be a discussion with merit. If you settle for any of our players being core right now, your expectations will be self fulfilling mediocrity or worse.
  21. While it may be cheating to use things like apple watches, as the 2001 directive addressed, signs are meant to be stolen. It always has been, and always will be. Boston loves the idea. Just keep the electronic devices and binoculars out of the dugout. If you expected the other team not to steal your somewhat comical coded signs, then you wouldn’t need signs in the first place, and you certainly wouldn’t need elaborate fake signs and countersigns to misdirect and try to fool the other team. http://www.espn.com/blog/sweetspot/post/_/id/82491/everything-you-need-to-know-about-sign-stealing "It is not illegal to steal signs. There is no rule against it, and certain players and coaches excel at the art. There is, however, a directive dating to 2001 that prohibits the use of electronic devices in the dugout or the use of binoculars. The use of the Apple Watch would clearly violate this directive." And with pitchers and batters all too often missing their own signs, it is a real cluster **** out there. Best to train your players to achieve telepathy if you don't want your signs intercepted.
  22. I thought I gave it proper attention just before that comment by saying: "Granted, if the machines called balls and strikes he would have been justly rewarded with an amazing take as the pitch was just ever so barely outside, but with umpires calling the game, there is no way you can take that pitch with the bases loaded and the count 1-2 to end the game. You just can't take that pitch. Amazing." Too obtuse? I can try to be more direct and inflammatory next time if it is deemed more appropriate.
  23. Yes! Mike Fast. Just the sound of that makes me smile. Anything and everything fast. Let's get Mike Fast, fast!
  24. It sure was set for him,eh?. The thing is..... you gotta swing to hit the ball.
